I’m disappointed they don’t actually meep. LOL. It was my fav cartoon. Thing is I used to think they were lyrebirds when I was younger. Because Australian lyrebirds look very similar when running. When I learned they weren’t I thought they were made up. Then I found out they were real birds.
fun fact: The beeping came from Paul Julian a background artist at Warner bros. Who, while carrying large stacks of background paintings would make the iconic "Beep Beep" noise to clear a path in the hallways.
I live in Albuquerque, and depending on where you are you can see one up close. The other day I saw one walking along the gas station wall, and when I lived close to center city you might see one every couple weeks.
These little guys have been showing up in my backyard a lot lately. Probably doesn't help that i feed them. Since they've been showing up, i haven't had a lot of problems with bunnies chewing on my garden!
I had one by my front door 2 days ago. I looked out thinking that it was a grakle but nope, it was a beep beep. Absolutely beautiful bird. I've seen about 5 of them now..
If you are one of those people that thought road runners say "Beep Beep" only because of Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, I wouldn't believe a TV show where somebody can survive accidental falls from high heights, doesn't fall to the ground until he notices he's suspended in mid-air, and survives the kind of injuries he survives.
I was down in Campo California which sits right on the border with Mexico. The three of us wandered into the desert and wandered into Mexico. Each of us was armed, - each with an entirely different weapon. For a very dry Sagebrush-like environment the number of different animals was amazing. Out in front of me on the ground - at some distance was some bird 😐, - a big bird. But upon approaching it - it simply didn't fly, fly away, or anything. But man could that thing move. 20 miles per hour ? Not even. But I will say that I swear, it acted just like Roadrunner. Statue-still one second, - and - 'FLASH' like a camera-flash - like, zero to sixty in a second, that's right - just like the cartoon.
We just saw our local roadrunner come for a visit again to get water here in the Nevada desert. Glad to learn that they eat rattlesnakes. Twice in 2 weeks, I encountered them in the front of the house. They often seek shade under a rock or under something lying on the ground. I'm learning to keep things picked up!
Thanks for these interesting facts! 👍👍 How do roadrunners react to a coyote attack? Do they fly on trees? I'm guessing they can't run faster than coyotes like in the funny cartoons. Or can they? Greetings from Switzerland!
@@commiecomrade2644 No. A coyote can run twice as fast as a roadrunner in real life. The roadrunner might have other defensive mechanisms but it's not as one-sided as in the cartoons. Coyotes have been known to catch and eat roadrunners on occasion.
Coyotes often fall off cliffs or have huge rocks fall on them when chasing roadrunners. The coyotes are always OK though. Coyotes can travel faster than roadrunners, especially if the coyotes are using rockets or other gadgets from the ACME Company.
@@portcullis5622When I was a kid watching the cartoons, I always wondered how the coyotes could survive if they never caught the roadrunners. I always felt sorry for the coyote. 😊
Greater roadrunners are bigger than lesser roadrunners? Whoa whoa whoa....next thing you'll say is that the Big Island of Hawaii is bigger than Oahu, or that the Great Pyramid is bigger than any other pyramid of Egypt. And don't get me started on Mallorca and Menorca.
Im in my 60s, and I've never seen the bird ,as it is . Real , ..like now ,on the video . Iwas enjoyed this back in time ..on TV comics beep beep . ... beep beep. ! Amazing.... 😂😂 ❤❤❤
I know it says Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner was created in 1948, but it actually debuted in 1949. (I read on a defunct official site for Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner that the series debuted on September 17, 1949).
So funny in real life the coyote can run twice as fast as the roadrunner but we grew up on the roadrunner making Wile E. Coyote look silly. Interesting. The Roadrunner is an amazing bird
I’ve lived in an area with Road Runners and have seen them up close while walking. I’ve never heard one make a sound. It’s not like they are real cartoon characters that look in the camera and Beep Beep

20mph for a little bird like that is NUTS, so cool.
I think they’re closer to 27mph I saw a short where a roadrunner out ran a cat that was trying to eat it. ✈️
Love these birds. Have several on my property.
Me to, I Love Them
Lucky you!!
Its always been Meep Meep.
"beep" = you lost your hearing.

Roadrunners Coo, click and Whistle.
I see roadrunners all the time when Iam out fishing. They are truly amazing birds.
They are cute, agile, and smart.

TO: YERINGTON NEVADA! WINNEMUCCA, battle mountain Nevada, ELKO Nevada, and friends from shadow memories know Road Runners Were A Muscle Car
What do u feed them ?
I heard mealworm are a favorite.
I had one by my front door 2 days ago. I looked out thinking that it was a grakle but nope, it was a beep beep.
Absolutely beautiful bird. I've seen about 5 of them now..
They are fantastic, I had one on my backyard. He was curious so he stayed alongside me for a while
Not only did the cartoon of the 60's make the bird famous but Chrysler's Plymouth division did to with there Roadrunner Musclecar.

I wonder if hawks and raccoons use ACME products when chasing a roadrunner or is that simply a coyote trait? 😆😊😊😊😊
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It was very useful and informative!
I've seen in Arizona roadrunner full adult up to my waist and I'm 6 ft so that's a 3-ft TALL roadrunner I'LL NEVER FORGET THOSE BIG OLD GOOGLY EYES
Have one on our property in Texas. See it everyweek

I remember when I first saw a roadrunner running along the road and heard it go beep beep. I had assumed it was just a cartoon thing.
I have one around my place, it had tail feathers that were blue.
Acme bird seeds 🍪🧨 🗻👉🐺👈
You now,🤔 if Wile E Coyote ran on all fours, then he might have caught the Road Runner!!!😁
I think the idea is that Wile E. Coyote is prideful explaining why he’ll capture the Roadrunner through his method that always fail.
We could use some roadrunners in FL with all the lizards, snakes, frogs, insects, and etc. I'm sure one would adapt to the tropical climate
They have dinosaur style feet
What the hell are ye talking 'bout??? Birds ARE dinosaurs. Scientifically that is.
Roadious Runnerous
I'm glad you didn't use the narrator to make the Meep Meep sound of the cartoon roadrunner when he was on the screen. Thanks You for the fun facts.

Oh man they can absolutely outrun a coyote. They are quite fast in short spurts. Its really something to see.
@@commiecomrade2644 Absolutely amazing! If I ever get to the Southwest or Southern United States, I really want to see these birds.

I always see them when I go on my local bikepath!
It would have been nice to shut off the narration, so the actual bird calls could have been heard better.
Interesting that 2 roadrunners will team up to kill a rattlesnake but the one that kills it eats it whole.

My young cousin was so surprised, she thought roadrunner was a made up animal.
Thank you for the interesting facts of the roadrunner.
So funny in real life the coyote can run twice as fast as the roadrunner but we grew up on the roadrunner making Wile E. Coyote look silly. Interesting.
The Roadrunner is an amazing bird

The mink of the bird family 😮
wiley would’ve been able to catch the roadrunner, coyotes are faster than roadrunners.
I guess the Roadrunner took them toon-force performance-enhancing drugs
what is the reason for not showing which sound as is produced by it?

I’ve lived in an area with Road Runners and have seen them up close while walking. I’ve never heard one make a sound. It’s not like they are real cartoon characters that look in the camera and Beep Beep
Beep beep
I thought only parrots have these toes. Who knew!?
Do you think it is a good idea to keep talking about the sound the roadrunners make so that we can't hear what it sounds like?
This is what a coo sounds like and i will speak over the sound the whole time.

Seagulls and Chickens are born with black eyes too and change colour as the bird matures
I miss the time when youtube videos had creative titles like this instead of algorithm fishing 🎣 lol
Guys who created Road Runner my guess were stoned .. Wiley is Awesome
Mrs Bugs Bunny appeared how many times over the years?
Pretty neat birds. Kinda dumb, lol, but cool none the less.
Luv this! Happy to hear all the awesome facts about those “greater & lesser” roadrunners! MEEP MEEP 🪶
Yeah, they are slimmer and taller cockatoos, not ostriches.
Wow
I have 2 who come to us every time we go at the park they know the car and spend. A lot of time on the hood or to look at us at the roof window 😂
No meep meep?
No meep meep :(
I thought Bo Diddley was a Road Runner lol.
Do their genital organs resemble those of flying birds or those of ducks?
Yeah, but can they trample out crop circles?
Wait.. there is an actuall roadrunner?
Wtf
3:25 female grabs the food as payment after they are done. cant uness that.
Fact you can't watch a road runner video without the added effects
Lmao
Imagen a 10-foot roadrunner.
thats what I think Kelenken was like.
Also "Soup or Sonic".
I thought this bird was never real
Its a Fact that the Native American tribes have these beliefs but its not a Fact.Net.
What noise does roadrunner make?they sound like whining puppy
They can outrun trash but not cars.
Beep Beep
Did not see any running at high speed towards tunnels and through canyons
Very disappointing
Do these road runners taste good? Anybody there doin roadrunners farming?
C ouf cet oiseau
Tom and Jerry but in Canid and bird version.
Sebastian and Twittie but in Coyote and roadrunner way.
hunting not indoor broke house but outdoor open space to chased on instead, that's what make it different
Loony Tunes made, far and away, the best comics.
Disney was rubbish by contrast.
When talking about the sounds the road runner makes, you should have shut up long enough for us to hear it.
Mannikuu 60 km odum thanmai kondathu
It’s not not nice to call him “a fast cuckoo”. And Hey what about that cuckoo porn ?
So... Do they run!?
Number 99 ...
