The main reason I avoid them now is of how far they've downgraded the doll; removing mobility almost entirely, eliminating several fan favorites, using cheaper materials (paints, hair, fabrics, etc.) to make the dolls, lowering their quality control, and making the dolls younger and taking away certain attributes of each characters' designs.
Honestly monster high was the most diverse community (all races, many cultures, especially Claude and draculara dating can be considered interracial, because werewolves and vampires are known to be enemies.) and they taught the best lessons about loving yourself and loving others no matter how different they are. I really miss the golden years of monster high.
Plus, the disability representation! Ghoulia Yelps being non verbal, Finnegan Wake being in a wheelchair, Vanndella Doubloons having a prosthetic leg, it just goes on and on!

Here I am, a young adult (1 month from being 18) and I am still listening to this. I remember my mom didn’t let me play with Monster High dolls when I was little because she thought they would turn me goth so I thought I was a rebel and bad kid by playing with them at my best friends house whose mom let her have them.

When I told my mom I wanted a MH doll she literally was amazed at how beautiful they were lol. She was a huge fan.
She used to ban them because they were "TOO EDGY" but eventually gave in.
This song has so much meaning. We're all different in our way and we should always express ourselves and be true to ourselves. As someome with Autism, its hard to fit in, but I always continue to be myself and not let anyone bring me down. Thanks Monster High for making sure no one felt left out and letting us know that we are perfect in our own "monster" way. ❤
