I think , one of the reason is the movies they are making.
If you watch any current malayalam movie, it is mostly based on crime or evil.
Movies for sure make an impact on students( As they are more adventuristic ) .
For example : in early 90's most movies came with love subject and if love fails , they will commit suicide.
Nowadays, we don't get movies with love failure suicide subject . We also don't find many love failure suicides'.
