okay, this is really useful to see on a patient and so thanks for the mini vid BUT I'm sooooo distracted by that SLEEVE!! :D daamn Zach, looking great! :D
@@adeelsajid995 so it's an involontary reflex and when cortical motor neuron gets myalinated over time, the cortex takes control of the spinal motor neuron right?
@@simkesims6345 To put it simply, the cortex has an inhibitory effect. In newborns, cortex is not fully developed, so babinski is there. In adulthood, it returns if damage occurs in upper motor neurons coming from cortex. Again, this is oversimplified.
I had a positive babinski sign after suffering side effects from TNF inhibitors. Once you have one, do you always have one - or can you get better? I was told I had de-mylination.
After the age of 3 you should suppress the Babinski sign. If present there is a sign of Uml. Diseases such Parkinson, Ms, Hereditary spastic paraplegia, Als are the ones that I can mention.

What causes positive babinski sign
Its a primitive reflex normally present only in babies but appears in adulthood as a sign of upper motor neuron damage.

Yeah the positive Babinski should normally disappear around 12-24 months
He has cerebral palsy
