Hmm here in Australia gas ovens are pretty much obsolete, havent been used in a long time. I think there are only a couple still on the market.
I thought he was going to compare gas vs electric stovetops. When I was a little kid we had a gas stovetop but I was too young to worry about bills. I've had coil tops before; I now have a ceramic electric top. Gas is great if there's a power outage, and the heat control is more precise. (And if you don't tell the kids, you can toast marshmallows.) But gas means an extra bill and a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Ceramic top is easier to clean, but you can't use cast iron or a wok. Also, I hear if the ceramic top cracks, it's very expensive to repair

Gas is expensive depending on where you live. Here in the UK, leccy is 4x more expensive than gas. The efficiency you get with electric doesn't make up for the costs of electric. However I hate cooking with a coil electric to and I prefer gas or a good quality induction

@@lyssa4613 Actually, I do use my cast iron pan on my electric stove on medium heat, and the surface hasn't cracked yet.
I don't make cake or pastries so gas is better. Plus it's cheaper to run.
My first condo had an electric stove, and it was terrible. Will never live in another house or condo unless it has a gas stove.

Induction stoves beat both traditional electric and gas stoves combined, my current house has one and I've never looked back

rather have electric the worry of leaving the gas on and going to bed puts me off
Cole there's something natural about cooking with a flame which makes the food perfect than cooking with imperfect electricware. I am aware of the concern and there is a concern that is really unfortunate even if it is burning.

I’m new to gas compared to electric. I need to know how to bake with gas . I have heard that cakes get burnt and they don’t cook well with gas.
Unlike electric which is super good everything cooks and bakes well.

Depends on what you are used to, I find gas to cook better.
What about taste of food. broil a steak in a gas oven and an electric oven and compare the two.
It wouldn't change the taste, gas doesn't have a smell

I have an electric, but just use a cheap butane camp stove on top. Hate the electric. No real control on temperature and slow to adjust to temperature. Hopeless for cooking. That’s why restaurants use gas. There is no comparison. Electric is for vegans
Have u ever tried induction cooktops? if so u will never go back to gas.
Restaurants are switching to induction hobs. Quicker, more control & more precise than gas. Not to mention healthier for the kitchen crew.
Gas is highly polluting. Definitely a bad idea in a small apartment. Also less energy efficient & worse for the wider enviroment.
Oh is it? So what you're saying is that burning gas, which a good oven can do at a 98% efficiency.. is less efficient than generating electricity, likely from gas, convert it in a ton of different ways losing efficiency at every step, and finally then used to run through a resistive coil?
