You don’t just take the oath to the King, you promise allegiance to his kin. That means Andrew & Harry too. I would have a problem with that. Many in Labour particularly don’t want a Monarchy at all.
Walk away then. They like the privileges though 🙄
No, they don't. Sinn Féin have 7 seats in NI on the basis that they'll never take them, or any payment for them.
They've done this for 110 years or so.
@@genghisthegreat2034 Okay, but these guys aren't doing that.
@@Defiled007 .....well, of course they're not doing that. My original point was precisely to highlight the difference.

And they can't take a seat in Westminster until they take the oath.
@@WeeShoeyDugless they won't take a seat in a British Parliament, even if it waives the Oath.
I agree with this mp ....Its a sick joke ! Swear an oath to an unelected king who costs the taxpayer sn absolute fortune!
That is an oath to the people. Pledging allegiance to the monarch is pledging allegiance to the people because the king is the head of state, representing the people! Learn before you type!
I feel bad for you, Peter, because it has just come to my attention that losing a couple of quid to tax that goes to the king himself yearly is financially defeating you. You mean that the tax is too high? Only 1-3 quid of the money you give yearly goes to the monarch, lol.
