Tears in my eyes. As a BA crew member, I love the 747 more than any other plane. I was at the mound to see this and it was a bit overpowering. I’m getting made redundant on 15th June and I don’t expect BAs 747 fleet will last much longer... really the end of an era.
I dont blame you, it is an amazing aircraft.
Really feel for you and all of your colleagues at BA, I've many friends at the airline who are going through the same situation. Hopefully things will pick up soon.
What a beauty the 747 is 😍 nice catch mate 😃 so sad to see them go 1 by 1 as well as delta’s MD88s and MD90s. The two last flights are DL80 and DL90 both arriving at ATL at around 8.58 local on June 2nd (yes, in 3 days). Then, there will be no more MD90s flying around and only a few MD88s.
Couldn't agree more mate, they are amazing to see. We have lost so many aircraft types recently.
Hopefully things pick up soon
@@JonathanWinton123 you should go to maastricht mate, there are almost weekly 747-200s 4L-GEO or 4L-GEN still flying around regularily opf GeoSky
What a rare aircraft. Glad Edinburgh have gotten to see one before they get retired.
Such a true comment, I think we all thought we'd seen the last of these birds especially in the North.
That is a catch and a half!:D Brilliant video Jon, thanks for sharing. Liked!
It was an amazing thing to see Archie. Thanks so much for watching mate.
Nice catch folks! Glad to see such a legendary aircraft from my country China show up in my second hometown Edinburgh. Thanks for sharing this joyful moment!
Thank you very much! It is great to see Air China's 747 here in Edinburgh. A great moment for all to see.
It certainly is a weird time for aviation. At shannon alone. We had an AN124 bringing ppe to america and qatar 777 bringing ppe to the west of ireland. We are expecting a US repatriation flight from morocco to do a gas and go and AN225 due on the 8th of june at 16:45
It is indeed Oliver, hopefully you manage to see one of them mate. Great movements.
Saw this flight on its return trip on flightradar24
Nice one it was great to see. Cheers.
Great video , i saw that air china boeing 747 fly directly over my house in Westhill as it headed over the north sea towards China!
Thanks for sharing that is cool. It was amazing to see.
Awesome video mate...Wow now that’s a rare sight at Edinburgh... keep up the great work 😃👍🏻
Thanks a lot! It is a rare catch at EDI. Cheers 😁👍
I was sitting in my back garden (fife coast) when saw this beauty fly past right over my head... been a passenger on them a few times but still fills you with wonder and amazement as something that big and graceful flys up and away into the blue yonder. 😎 Great noise also 👍
Ooh nice one. It is an amazing one to see especially up in our part of the world.
Thanks for watching 😊👍
Don’t see them much at Edinburgh or even the whole of Scotland
It’s sad that you don’t usually see them at Edinburgh airport or Glasgow
Definitely.
What date did this come in on?
This was back on the 15th of July 2020.
@@JonathanWinton123 many thanks. Epic catch. Gutted I missed it.
Wonderful video mate! Liked!

Fantastic catch mate, well done :)
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much mate. 😊
I was walking along halbeath road in Dunfermline about back a 3 yesterday n a erd a loud noise looked up n seen a 747 which is rare as fuck, the flight path over ere is common but not for a 747 to fly to China. Great video
Nice one, it is so awesome to see the Jumbo at Edinburgh Airport. Thanks for watching
Fantastic video! I’ve seen images of a 747-SP at EDI before, but never a 747-400, do you know if this is the first time for the type?
Thanks so much for watching. There has been many 400s in at EDI.
Japan Airlines 747-400 which came in 2010, an Air France one in 2006, British Airways 2005 and Japan Defence force in 1999.
Quite a few.
What a catch!! Nice video!
Thank you very much! It was an awesome one to see.
Nice catch mate!

It certainly was Alan. Rare to see a 400 at EDI.
Damn I didn't know this aircraft was coming in. Would loved to have seen it. Where do you find out what unusual aircraft are coming into Edinburgh ?
It was a great one to see. Various sources on Twitter and Facebook
Nice capture 👍
Thanks for watching 👍
Time from 4/7/2022, this 747-4J6 B-2445, which is the oldest passenger aircraft in china has retired.😭😭😭I have seen this airplane many times but never have chances to fly it.
It is such a sham it has been retired, such a wonderful plane.
Fake news, she hasn't retired yet
B2445 last flew on mArch 21 and has not flown since

Scotland?
Edinburgh Scotland yes
Is rare to see one of those beauties at Edinburgh but why don’t they land there more often if that one can land there then others can
It is very rare to see Air China Boeing 747s outside of China. Great to see one in Europe.
