- Hollywood mogul Jerry Weintraub died on Monday, according to his publicist. Weintraub may not be a household name, but the legendary film producer was the creative genius behind blockbusters like Karate Kid, Diner and Oceans 11.
People these days know who the Kardashians are but not know a legend like Jerry
To start his career from getting a million check for Elvis 3 week tour to movie and music industry royalty, anything was possible back in the 50's..
I met the man once while promoting his book.
You are lucky bro. Wish I would have met this legend, but at least we have his legacy to look upon!
Absolutely adore him!
A Man with more X factor than the Stars he sold.
Would it be safe to say that The Colonel ( Elvis Presley's Manager )gave Jerry his break, by allowing Jerry to promote Elvis in concert?
He also managed Bob Dylan for a time
Rip 😭
He said elvis wouldnt go on unless it was sold out and all the seats were taken so jerry he pulled out the seats that werent sold...lol smart thinking
He told the story how he promoted Elvis he didn't have two nickels to rub together so you got a hold of a lawyer and he left him the money to promote Elvis with mean dollars after that he became a millionaire
No, actually the Lawyer told Jerry about this radio host that was rich and was a BIG die hard fan of Elvis. So after doing a deal with Colonel (Elvis's at the time manager) that he would take Elvis on road, he went to the radio host for money and the host gave it without thinking twice and asked jerry to return it back after the tour. And this is exactly what Jerry did, he put an amazing tour and made money off it (making him a millionaire) and also returned the host his money. No wonder Mr. Weintraub is known as the greatest showman of all times. Legend! Rip may god bless him.
He became millionaire because of Elvis...
