- The Philippine government should take time to study the transport modernization program and execute it properly rather than rush the whole process, according to transport experts and stakeholders.
After public utility jeepney (PUJ) drivers and operators launched a week-long strike early in March in response to the jeepney phaseout plan, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) extended the deadline to consolidate fleets to Dec. 31 from June 30.

Why don’t we stick to the look of the traditional jeep from the outside, pero mas modernized yung loob. Maybe forward facing ung seats like a bus or car tas may seatbelt for each passenger. I think one of the reasons din na kelangan iphase out ang jeepneys dahil sa safety issue kapag nabangga tilapon agad ang mga nakasakay.. pero sana wag naman totally ibahin yung itsura kasi icon na natin ang traditional jeepneys. Improve it nalang and re-design yung interior.
Pero tingan nyo ang ininilalabas nilang unit ganon ang upuan diba?
Fix the system first. Anhin mo ang modern jeepneys kung hindi parin centralized ang system ng public jeeps/buses, hindi parin scheduled ang
trips, hindi parin fixed ang mga babaan at sakayan?
hindi centralized = kanya kanyang sakay ng pasahero/kahit kailan magsasakay
kahit saan nagsasakay pasahero = obstruction/traffic
kahit kailan nagsasakay pasahero = obstruction/traffic
walang fixed stops/loading stations = obstruction/traffic
sa madaling salita, inefficient.
Inefficient = HEAVY TRAFFIC parin.
Imaginin mo puro modern jeeps ang nasa kalye pero asal traditional jeepneys parin,
ano ang pinagkaiba? naka aircon ka lang, pero traffic at siksikan parin sa loob.
Dapat mas pagtuunan ng pansin ang pagsasaayos ng system mismo ng public transportation,
centralization, interconnectivity, efficient, at scheduled.
Modernization is not wrong. It's time to improve the overall quality of comfort and reliability of
public utility vehicles.
But if the system on which these vehicles run on is still the same, then walang maayos na pagbabagom pinalitan mo
lang ang mga lumang jeep ng bago, pero traffic parin, masikip parin, wala paring maayos na stops, mas mahal lang ng konti.
@@TheStudentPilotHanse i kinda agree with fixing the system. I have lived abroad for more than a decade so hindi ko na alam kung anong bago sa Pinas. Hopefully the government does their thing to fix what you are talking about.
@@ramsam4522 Hopefully. Experiencing the transpo system of other countries is an eye opener, it will make you question why our transpo system is so inefficient.

The government is failing the Jeepney drivers by not giving them monetary help to transition in their modernization. Jeepney drivers make 500-700 pesos a day and a new modern Jeepney is 2 mil pesos. It’s just not possible without government help. If you want the Jeepney to modernize, don’t put the burden on the drivers
tradition versus modern ways..we can only develop in modern ways..Government should handle more effective designs abd ways..we should have our own technology product for our own maintenance and ambition

Ipakita ng gobyerno na okay ang umutang para bumili ng modern jeep sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng Maharlika Fund para bumili ng modern jeepney. Ipagamit ito sa mga driver at operator ng Manibela at Piston. Suelduhan na rin sila.
