You are the best to learn Chinese! My ancestors came from China and I was born in Thailand as my childhood, there was prohibited to learn or teach Chinese, Thailand.
I'm so glad and most appreciated to you work/efforts! Thank you!

鳳is not a male, but a female. This is why Chinese refer 龍鳳 as male and female in traditional weddings。

The latest/modern Chinese words are no longer have much of its historical meaning. Generation like me used to reject it when they were first launched by the China goverment. They were invented in simplified form with the purpose of unify the nation communications more effectively, considering there were a large numbers of weaker group and learning disable group in China especially the ruralboutlets. Thats y I accepted them openly at a later considered its true prosperity purpose.

Lots of the simplified Chinese are from ancient times. I can find many of them in ancient Chinese caligraphy.

Mistake: "王“(wang)originate from the shape a kind of axe(斧钺). In ancient times, this axe symbols power, because it can be applied to execute the criminal. If you look at the 金文 on the bronze objects you will clearly see that the lowest horizontal stroke is curved and thick, and looks like an axe head. The middle one is the stick for one to handle the axe, and the top stroke is the balance weight. If you see the shape of the ancient axe you will realize it immediately.

Bet any sign anybody can come any sign, story or thing about it, same with Chinese characters, just waste lot time and mind to study Chinese writing by remember stories about that character.

We think it is important to understand where Chinese characters come from, and it is more efficient for an adult, instead of remembering them by rote.

@@ChinaAdmissions study characters alone can take forever and you think people should learn stories behind each character so easy to remember, of course but who has time and mind to spend three more times to know stories behind it, duh.

@@yuegonghuamei6685 it is actually faster to learn the meaning for adult learners. As an adult if you learn Chinese characters by repetition then its quite boring. But if you learn the meaning it is much more efficient and interesting

I think it is not people should learn stories behind "each" character , but knowing some of the stories of some basic elements will give you a concept of the structure, and what they are, instead of lines of different shapes. That will help you a lot when you learn the other hundred or thousand characters.
