Old video, but man, I still have my old 99 kx 125. still want to rebuild it completely (been sitting a while). I miss riding MX, and I miss my KX. Love this video!

Wow, great job! I picked up a 96 recently that I need to redo the suspension on, the rear shock blew out last time I was riding it(which was also the first time riding it). Great inspiration to fixing up mine even more. So far I’ve just repainted the frame and cleaned it up a bit
A bike that nice looking looks like it came of the dealer ship floor would easily bring 5 thousand dollars or more which I think you have a lot of money put in your bike and a lot of you in the bike because you total rebuild the whole entire bike great job awesome looking bike you have don't part with that bike it sounds awesome
I got one and it’s loaded with all aftermarket parts that came with it, so far I’ve rebuilt the front shock and put in a brand new rear shock, carb rebuild, top end, new wheel spacers and new bearings, and a new rear sprocket. The bike is still clapped af but I can’t decide if it’s worth putting too much more money in it. It’s leaking oil out of the bottom end by the front sprocket and the bushings for the swing arm are pretty fucked. If your interested in my bike lmk I’ll send pics it’s too much of a project for me to keep throwing $ in it.
if its leaking oil out of front sprocket, that is a super easy free fix. I have a video my channel on how to fix that oil leak for free. Around where are you located?
Moto Blast St. Louis, I topped it off with 10w40 gear oil the other day and it hasn’t leaked too bad but it’s still fuckin annoying cuz when I leave it in my garage for a few weeks it leaves a little puddle on the floor.
Awesome job bro and OMG, I SWEAR ON YOUR RIGHT SIDE CASE COVER LOOKS EXACT SAME COLOR AD MINE....DID YOU USE THE "OIL RUBBED BRONZE" SPRAY PAINT FROM RUSTOLEUM??? LOOKS EXACT SAME METTALIC LOOK......I LOVE that color I paint ally brake components that color and the mettalic bits solidify really hard and brake fluid doesn't even affect it after it's cured so it's really tough as well
Hey, really like this build. I was wondering if you could give me an estimate to about how much it costed in total. Thinking about doing something similar to a KX125 or KX250. I would love to do one to the level of Tyler Monagan's build or one of those "2018 KX125" but just don't have the money to spend. Thank you for your time and would really appreciate a reply.
Hey, sorry for the delay. Since did 99% of the work myself, I can really only say how much it cost in parts. This build was about $3,200 bike included. Thank you!
I was riding that crap out of a 2001 kx 125. It sounded like it ran out of gas but it had plenty. Got to taken out carburetor and found those 2 wires. Is there a way to reset this before I take apart the whole carburetor?
You probably have seen it! . It's kind of like soda blasting, but with much better results and Finnish. I started vapor blasting parts for anyone interested in sending them to me.
wow what a 100% complete restoration good congratulations, also I decided to restore another bike after a Yz Cr, now a nice Kx from 1990, video soon, i subscribe you..!! 🤙🏼💪🏻

Free advice from someone that raced and had Hot Rod as a sponsor:: Never Use Hot Rod!! We had two pistons simply Dissolve shortly after starting. They are cast not forged which shouldn't matter. But either should Never dissolve!. They sent me two rod kits....The wrong ones so I returned them. "Hu, what rod kits?". These two incidents cost me around $1000 and labor. I have two machinists I use and the first time I called they asked me "is that a Hot Rod con rod kit...?" Both machinists also say Wiseco crankshafts are crap. But they pistons are good. I've Never had a piston issue with WIseco. I'm going thru a 1998 kx125.. Be careful with the propane torch, it can distort the cases. I had a split on the rear rim, where the rim was originally seamed....I used a small aluminum patch on each side and screws. The patch weighs about 1/2 oz, much less than a rim lock! And I am having a hellacious time finding spokes! I need 2 F&R and Everyone wants about $7+ with the nipple!! I just can't spend $30 for 4 spokes! and it spins just fine for the last four years......SO maybe I'll leave them out....
Hey! thanks for all the information. I also heard all of the same issues with those brands as well. Spoke kits are sometimes very hard to get. Sometimes you can just get the measurement and use a different set
