    For falling objects, NCERT books states the gravitational acceleration is positive whereas you say that it is negative. It's confusing. Could you please recheck and clarify.

      In lecture 1 or 2 sir said that in bigger classes this positive will be however turned into negative itself that's why he said it otherwise it will cause problem for students in future however it is correct in book at standard 9 but it would be changed in 12th or 11th if u will opt for sci

    I am just wondering that how the gravitational acceleration can be -10 m/s as gravitational force act downwards and the object is also falling downwards.. So the g should be 10 m/s

      actually we take the signs - positive or negative , by cartesian plane and in the cartesian plane - for the downward direction we take minus sign as we have learnt in the chapter 3 of maths -coordinate geometry

    And distance= maximum height ×2
    =80×2=160m respectively

      Not as per the question. It never mentions that the stone comes down again. It just says it reaches a height and then we stop tracking the motion of the object so final position is not the same as initial position. Therefore, net displacement and distance is the same as motion is in a straight line. So all answers are 80 metres.

      I understand what you are trying to say, but we must only consider the given data as per the question. But like you said it will eventually come back to the ground. For the sake of the question, we don’t consider it. Just like in math questions, nobody is going to buy 100 oranges, if you understand the meme.

    28:40 sir but here total distance= 80+80(ascend+ descend) = 160m
    Displacement=0 (because when we throw a stone it get backs to initial position so displacement will be 0.)

      Total distance will still be 80m, not 160, since the body hasn't come to ground yet. Take Hmax to be distance covered, Hmax= u^2/2g , direct formula, if thrown at an angle then multipy u^2/2g into sin^2theta.

      We always take g =-9.8 because it always acts downwards. as in free fall questions a=g so acceleration becomes -9.8 .

      We know that u=40ms-¹ and we don't know displacement hence apply u=√20h then, 40=√20h, square both sides to remove root then (40)²=(√20h)² now 20h=1600 h= 80m if you like my solution pray 🙏 for sir Issac Newton RIP

      At 37:10 , Sir found out the speed which was 4s. However, it's given it takes a second to cover 25s and height is 100 m. Than you can find it easily by doing 100/25 = 4s.Than, why sir told a big method.

      It's given the stone is projected upwards with an initial velocity(u) =25m/s
      Not That the stone takes 25 seconds to Do the Motion..
      Hope you understood.

      actually we take the signs - positive or negative , by cartesian plane and in the cartesian plane - for the downward direction we take minus sign as we have learnt in the chapter 3 of maths -coordinate geometry

    28:40 after the calculation we get, Total height reached by the particle = 80m. Hence, Dist = 80*2 = 160m and the net disp will be 0 becsuse stone returned to the initial point of the action. So, highlight this comment to avoid such mistakes like this.

      Because the weight's formula is W=mg in which gravitation constant should me either 9.8 or 10 as per as the situation of the question.....

    0=10(3)+u
    = u = 30 m/s
