I had tears in my eyes as I watched this. My son is living this life and will never come back. His heart and soul is in Montana. I'm very thankful he loves his JOB.

My grandfather was born in Montana, in the year of 1900, he was a black cowboy/bronc buster on ranches around the state, he worked on ranches with Randolph Scott , Gary Cooper and others before they made it big in the motion pictures industry. I still have his spurs and stirrups that he gave to me before he passed away. R.I.P grandpa.

Tyler Brown I most definitely will Tyler, I was totally engulfed in the cowboy way because of him. I took him to rodeos and Indian pow wows and those times made his heart glad. I have so many country/western albums that it crazy. In planning his funeral I had his Stetson mounted on a floral arrangement and took along the song, HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU, of course that Stetson is here with me today along with the spurs and stirrups. I was the only one of the grandchildren that he left the western cowboy imprint on my heart because we were always together. He also for part of his early life grew up on a FLATHEAD INDIAN RESERVATION. I so much loved sitting cross leggeg in front of him listening to his tales of life on the trail. Thank you for your comment Tyler, I really appreciate it.

Ted Allison You're most welcome Ted and thank you for reading and responding to my comment. My grandpa's brother was also a broncbuster back when, and as a small child I found magazines that grandpa had that featured his brother, grandma must have thrown them away when grandpa passed away and because of them I came to this channel. once again I thank you, as a city girl this and the music is all that I have. God bless you Ted.

Willem de groot In the Spring. Blaine County, ranching and real "cowboyin" (and cowgirls,to) is Not for the faint of heart, weather wise... or, any other way & only those with "true grit", survive here.... as with most anywhere on range land & prairies of north central & eastern / S. eastern, MT..... as well as all the ranchers, cowboys n' gals, in all the other prairie & western states.
Take good care.... and appreciate your thoughts.

I ve watched this video before I go to sleep since I've found it. It is so relaxing it looks like you can almost touch the sky. The grass is so green the land open and the cowboys look free and happy. One day I will leave in Montana if not I will ashes will be spread on a mountain top over looking an open spread. Believe this I have it in my will and a friend in MT to make sure it happens. I've been all over this great USA of ours. Nothing can come close to this Mystical place.

May God rest his soul. My granddad raised hogs out here in Colorado Springs, CO. He was a lovely man and sweet at heart. I have fond memories of him before he passed away. My grandpa was born a corn farm boy in Nebraska. My mother, well, she'said a southern bell. My grandma also a southern bell. Hopefully after I finish my welding classes and things settle for me, I can buy myself a 5 acre farm with maybe 3 or 4 acres for cattle.

Love this documentary about cowboys and cowgirls in Montana!!! What an inspirational and beautiful showcase of Montana art! Amazing!!! Big Sky country is also where Mary Fields lived her life as a part of western history! Mary lived and worked in Cascade, Montana and was even featured in the famous western painter Charles Russell's sketch called, "A Day in Cascade"! She delivered U.S. Mail via wagon and horse. Some call her "Stage Coach Mary", but her driving a stagecoach has never been verified. She was a great testament to fortitude, inspiration and grit for the state of Montana!!! Please watch my documentary and many thanks for your opinions and views!!! Thank you and God Bless!

Eloy Ruiz That depends... if your a real "working" cowboy.. it depends on the ranch, it's owner... the size of the operation, how many head yer runnin, your experience, how hard you work (and ya better be a hard worker, in ANY weather and time of day or night... NO "slackers" in ranching).
If, your a rodeo cowboy.... you rely on winnings, primarily.. and it can be a rough trail to ride... but, if your at the "top of your game".. ya might pick up a major sponsor or two, and everything that goes with that (but, "they own You")... money can be real good in that venue... if your willin to put up with the corporate bs.

This is cow country. Texans weren't wrong when they saw Montana for the first time. The Indians were put on reservations down in the territory and the buffalo had been destroyed. Montana and the Great American Plains were vacant country. Cattlemen from Texas saw this and knew what to do with this heaven on earth. Texas cattle were driven up the Western Trail and the Goodnight - Loving Trail. Dreams of men with the American spirit prevailed. How many Montana cow men trace their family lineage back to Texas ? It would be interesting to ask that question in front of a group of people in Blaine County.
