With a hardcore mind & explicit tongue, prolific NY rapper/producer ILL BILL keeps the spirit of underground hip-hop alive with an affinity for dusty sampling & a lyrical spectrum that ranges from vulgar & horrific to deeply insightful & pained. Bill was influenced by the violent & profane, employing dark subject matter to convey messages that often have more depth beneath the surface shock factor.
Emerging in the early '90s, he joined MC Serch (3rd Bass), Sabac Red, Goretex & DJ Eclipse to form seminal rap crew Non Phixion. Signing with both Geffen Records & Matador Records (and then parting ways with both), while issuing acclaimed 12" singles like "I Shot Reagan" & "Black Helicopters", Non Phixion caused no shortage of controversy, pushing Bill to start Uncle Howie Records for the Brooklyn-based crew to finally unleash its debut LP, "The Future Is Now", in 2002.
In 2007, ILL BILL co-founded La Coka Nostra with rap legends House Of Pain & Slaine. Bill also makes up half of the super duo, Heavy Metal Kings, trading verses with the legendary Vinnie Paz.
Now as we approach the end of 2020, Bill prepares to unleash his new solo album "La Bella Medusa". LBM delivers some of Bill's best work to date, boasting incredible features from Tech N9ne, Pharoahe Monch, Conway The Machine, Kool G Rap, Vinnie Paz & many more. Bill is constantly evolving as an artist & with LBM he shows diversity & shines alongside his guests all the whilst giving you exactly what you want to hear from the Cult Leader.

Good to see Tony Yayo on a track like this. You know, I've dreamt quite a few times 50 would go back underground ... it could be possible because I'm sure he still has it. We even had Xzibit on an Apathy track and he murdered it !

Well to be fair Vinnie and Bill are making more music sounding like that new wave of dudes like Conway the Machine, Westside Gunn and Nems with the Giallo Point beats but at the same time Bill and Vinnie were a large influence on most of these cats with the 90s gritty east coast sound all the way to the gangsta rap horrorcore fusion sound that Big L made big back in the 90s. So more or less I think Vinnie and Bill stuck to their roots and more guys coming up sorta found that kinda hip hop to be their style as well. If there’s one thing ive learnt from Vinnie Paz and Ill Bill is that there is no limit to what you’re able to say on a record. The average parent is able to play Eminem around their child or friends and everyone would kinda chuckle and have a laugh about what’s being said but when Bill and Vinnie lay something it seems more gutter and raw and would on occasion make some people cringe in discomfort but I still believe that most of their career is based on street credibility and foreign listeners like most of the cats I just named minus Eminem.
Probably Bills best work so far imo. Solid start to beginning
