In the name of change, a nation faces many challenges from different political and economic factions which could threaten its stability and unity. To prevent this, the country needs a strong and central authority that can maintain order and harmony. Sometimes, democracy is not enough to ensure the common good and the national interest. What Nepal needs is more discipline and loyalty.
    Jai Nepal !!!

People get the government they deserve.
In democracy, it is the duty of every citizen to maintain the freedom of the society. For this, citizen votes to ensure a responsible government to execute the will of the people.
But due to problem of commons and human rationality, citizens ignore their duty and hope that 'others' will do the needful.
When nobody does the 'needful', society loses its freedom and democracy is strangled.
Reverse scenario from dictatorship to democracy can also explained in a similar manner.
Thus, people get the government they deserve. Always.

It's up to educated youth like these guys to inform the false narrative that's being spread now by Rajawadis, which says that monarchy will solve everything and that monarchy is the only alternative to corrupt politics, thus creating a false dichotomy, and in the process fooling the people just like the current bunch of corrupt politicians. We can use the current system to give a better alternative by joining politics and thus transform the country. We, the common people regardless of our background can do it and democracy enables us to do it, and not some hereditary institution. No kings, no masters, power to the people!

Monarchy often highlight stability, continuity, and a unifying symbol as perks. Monarchies may also have ceremonial roles, preserving cultural heritage, while avoiding the partisan nature of elected leaders in a republic. However, opinions on governance structures vary, and each system has its strengths and weaknesses.
Stability and Continuity: Monarchies can offer long-term stability, as the leadership typically passes through hereditary lines. This can prevent frequent changes in leadership and policies, providing a sense of continuity.
Symbolic Unification: Monarchs can serve as unifying symbols for a nation, embodying its history, traditions, and values. This can foster a sense of national identity and pride among citizens.
Ceremonial Role: Monarchs often perform ceremonial duties, representing the state at important events. This can help preserve cultural heritage and traditions without being directly involved in the day-to-day politics.
Non-partisan Leadership: Monarchs are not elected and, therefore, may be seen as above the political fray. This can potentially reduce the influence of partisan politics and allow for more impartial decision-making.
Focus on Long-term Goals: Monarchs, with their lifetime commitment to the role, may have the luxury of thinking beyond short-term political cycles. This could lead to a focus on long-term national interests without the pressure of re-election concerns.

@@ujjwalkhadka3824 The problem is you need a monarch that actually places values in these aspects and one the people can trust. The Shah family simply cannot provide this, and this really shows. While they were given power in different systems for so long, they failed to deliver on developing and improving the country. Maybe there were one or two kings that had made some good decisions, but overall look at the end result. We are still a poor country that struggles.

There is difference between राजतन्त्र and राजसंस्था. Rajtantra is about king having absolute power like before 2047.After 2047 king became constutional which means king had power like that of president. Even when there was king, Nepal was a democratic country. King coming back won't make Nepal undemocratic.
Nobody wants rajtantra, they want rajsanstha in place of president. Now president represents the party he is from so he is biased and political parties have nobody to fear and can change the constitution as they wish. So king could be a component to balance political power. Even developed countries like UK, Norway, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, portugal, Monaco, Netherland, Sweden etc have constitutional monarchy. So these 3 people are talking about absolute monarchy while the demand of public is constutional monarchy. Absolute monarchy is a big No but constitutional monarchy can be a good choice for Nepal..

    • @nakimushi_jira
      @nakimushi_jira Год назад +22

I agree there is a stark difference between constitutional monarchy and absolute monarchy. All the developed nations that have constitutional monarchy, you pointed out, have a handful of things in common - strong/stable democratic institutions, law and order, and strong judicial system.
You are right that post 2047, there was constitutional monarchy in Nepal and the country was democratic, but the country lacked stable/strong democratic institutions, judicial system, and law and order. At the nascent stages of the democracy, public institutions (judicial branch, schools, police and military, etc.) weren’t strengthened enough to make them free of political entanglements.
Democracy is an experiment/idea and evolution is an integral part of it. The most powerful and democratic nation in the world, US, also didn’t have a perfect democracy but it evolved over time and is still evolving. Democracy in Nepal should also evolve. Learn from the past, throw out the cons and build on the pros. Strengthen public institutions and free them from political affiliations.
Democracy gave a ray of hope to millions and it’s an experiment/idea. This nascent democracy needs to evolve just like how a thought/idea evolves with time.
What country needs is a strong/stable institution that enforces and/or respects law and order. “Raja aau desh bachau” is not the solution. There needs to be transparency with everything - how and why are policies instituted, who are the stakeholders, and who are the beneficiaries of such policies.
“Raja aau desh bachau” should be replaced with “no one is above the law”.
Institute policies that demand ethics, transparency from everyone (politicians, business people, educators, employers, every citizen, etc.) Everyone should respect the law and order. Investigate everyone who benefitted from corruptions, freeze their assets, take them to court. Nepal needs an institution or a branch of government that presides over and has authority over executive branch: MPs, president, prime minister and even the judicial branch.
Hypothetically, let’s say this movement falters. What’s a new “nara” then, “Raja hatau desh bachau”
Directing energy and motivation towards strengthening existing anti-corruption/government watchdog institutions and instituting strict law and order where everyone is treated, judged, and/or punished (if found guilty) equally is the right path forward.
Nepal needs strong public institutions with accountability not hindu, muslim, buddhist, nor christian rastra…help strengthen public institutions & law and order (justice system: Supreme Court & Police, and environmental regulations and policies).
Monarchy is unsustainable and why should a single family or a person lucky to be born in that family inherit the entire nation and pass the inheritance to their kids. - isn’t this the exact definition of nepotism. Yet in Nepal, everyone cries “kehi kaam hudaina or paudaina” because nepotism or having right connections ruined the society.
There is an article in The Guardian titled, “Nepal’s king seeks escape amid probe into wealth” - if they were the true guardians of the nation (which itself is a ridiculous idea) then why invest in profiteering businesses. Why didn’t they invest in public infrastructures - government schools, roads, pavements, river corridor or reform schools and privatization of education in Nepal.
Balen is Shah but not the “raja” family Shah. He has shown/proven that a person with right vision and principle can be as or if not more influential than raja. All we need is people with good ethics and principles in politics and a strict watchdog institution.
Implement strict law and order. Everyone (janta hoos ya mantri) must get equal treatment and protection under the law and everyone should have a level playing field based on qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities. perpetrators must be held accountable and punished as per the law and constitution.
Weak law and order and people not abiding by ethical code are the weakest cogs in the democratic wheel of Nepal.
Mr. Prasai has good points and some bad points. His ideas of reform and reshuffling of public institutions are points to be noted. Where he loses support is his extremist views of “raja tantra and hindu rastra” as the saviours of the country in peril. If he has so much dirt on all the perpetrators who benefited from corruption why doesn’t he release all evidences - open the floodgates - with Nepali version of panama papers. Why is he using monarchy - an archaic, divisive institution - to promote his ideas/agendas and using hinduism to rile up people to join his base.
Religion - also a social construct/idea - creates division and using nara “hindu” rastra is extremism, doesn’t promote inclusiveness. Nepal has rich cultural heritage and religion, and they are not in danger of becoming extinct. Religion shouldn’t be used to unite or rile up the base. Environment and natural resources are at risk. Proper management of environmental and natural resources is where everyone should be fixated. Why not use “environmentalism: preservation, conservation, and proper management” as a “nara” to bring all Nepalese together and push forward his agenda.
I personally detest monarchy for the history of atrocities. British monarchy profited from Atlantic Slave Trade. Economic policy enacted by Rana dynasty profited from “Kamaiyah”. Subsequent generations of “people in bonded labour system” are still reeling from the generational traumas.
Monarchy be it absolute or constitutional may make sense in a feudal Nepal (maybe), but not in today’s environment and political biosphere. Who’s to say that another hatya kanda - “singhadurbar hatya kanda” won’t happen in the future as the history has shown even the constitutional monarch and his families were wiped out in the democratic country. If the country had strong judicial branch, law and order and enforcer of law and order (allegiance to welfare of the county and to none) back then, may be darbar kanda could have been prevented. I don’t know who the perpetrator is but if the country didn’t have a strong judicial branch back then, would instituting “constitutional monarchy” cure this in a heartbeat and who’s to say post “singhadurbar hatya kanda” (it’s hypothetical) Nepal won’t fall into authoritarianism and those on the streets with new nara “Raja hatau desh bachau” won’t suffer the same fate as the 4 great martyrs of the past.

@@swarajthapa5798 history has shown time and again, and even fantasy novel like the game of thrones - power corrupts. Same thing happened to the so called netas. Power corrupted them.
Why not implement strict law and order as in China ? If found guilty of corruption and heinous crime - capital punishment. May be that will instill fear. These netas treated Nepali Janta like 🐑 and sold a dream of “Nepal lai arko Singapore banauchu” instead of properly managing natural resources and environment which Nepal has abundance of and didn’t focus on job creation and growth opportunities. Prime examples are “yarsagumba harvest” and “gravel and sand mining from rivers” it’s like Wild-West out there, maan pari cha. If these resources are properly managed and regulated may be they will provide sustainable industries.
Today, Kathmandu is becoming a most unliveable city and the other metropolitan cities are also heading towards the same direction because of air and water pollution. Not too long ago, some cities in US were also dumping their waste into rivers and lakes. A river in Ohio caught on fire in 1969. The US enacted several federal policies to protect rivers and fresh water systems one such act is Clean Water Act. All is needed is a political will and public outcry.
Strong democratic institutions is all we need. An institution that offers checks and balances to the executive branch and is willing to hold them accountable. It has to be a top down approach. Bottom up approach doesn’t work in the context of Nepal because of power, nepotism, and politics.
Lastly, Nepal doesn’t need a demigod = raja nor a demagogue = Mr. Prasai.

Of course change should be progressive, but that should not undermine the history and national identity. Perhaps, some people lack common sense, but same people play judge and delivering a verdict, come on. You don't have to imagine, go to Tribhuvan Airport (for the change-agents this name might pick) and you can see how ruined the country is. This is the "CHANGE" for you.
The agent of terror and corrupt bureaucrats has turned Nepal into "a guinea pig". This is the "CHANGE" for you.
And there are idealists (like you) who believe the current system will do wonders, over time. Perhaps, those are dreams or people who needs help.

To be honest, host doesn't know what going around the country and especially when he got smashed by both Sudip Bhai Subedi and Dipesh Tripath right at (just focus on Sudip Bhai 2:22:00 - 2:22:24 and throat preparations of Sudip bhai at 2:22:14 know; how he should penetrate the work of Balen as a Mayor and showcased the real power of Mayor and what he can deliver) and 2:27:22 Dipesh Bro expained the real problem of politican during election.
And again, this almost 3hr listening both of my favourite content creator explained perfectly and got to know how closer they are personally.

Yes we are struggling with the current system of nepal but it doesnt mean we have to again go back to Monarchy instantly… Yes there are some loopholes in our system, yes we are being ruled by wrong people but it may not be the fault of democracy!! It may be us who are continuously choosing same wrong people time and again and expecting good things from them .Democracy we are practicing today is not a complete form of democracy . It is not transparent enough .Its just partial. There are some things to get upgraded .There are some systems like direct president electoral system , laws like right to reject and right to recall .These laws are still left to get practiced to make democracy more transparent and public oriented. So lets focus on advanced form of democracy . Lets focus on choosing new leaders whose main motto will be something to bring positive change in this system. Lets move forward to filter out the flaws that we’ve been facing in this system. Going back is not only the option. How many years are we again trying to be like a pendulum?( moving back and forth but reaching nowhere!!) .We can see lots of demagogue at this time . But lets act wise. 🙏🇳🇵
After all this , if we dont get the expected outcome, then we can think about Monarchy . But now , i dont think its the right time to rush into it. Doing something in hurry cant be healthy. Yes we have got an option of Monarchy but lets keep it at last. First lets try to reform this current system through new laws and modification in constitution.
At last ,one thing is real .And that is-"We are in need of change!".
