- Here's a video that I'm very excited to present to all of you!
Back in late December when I made a trip over to the East Bay, after filming a few other trucks, I wanted to scout around Richmond quickly. Not expecting anything crazy, after only a few minutes of driving around, I saw this truck up the street! Needless to say, I was extremely excited, so I ran up there to start recording! I must say, Richmond crews, especially the guys on rear loaders, hold a reputation for moving extremely fast - and these guys were no exception! Seeing them handle multi cart stops and back down roads in a matter of seconds was quite entertaining. Additionally, I've always been a fan of the cart variety that Richmond has - consisting of a nice collection of older Richmond Sanitary/West Coast Recycles Rehrigs, lots of Schaefers, and of course, Republic's newer carts sprinkled around. This was by far some of the most exercise I've ever gotten out filming haha! This has gotta be one of my most favorite finds yet, and even more so, this is the first Autocar WXLL chassis that I've managed to film, which I've always loved. All in all, this was a very fun morning, and I'm so glad to have found these guys, along with the two other AutoReach's you'll see pop up - which I also got footage of! When WM bought us out they picked up all of the east bay from Emeryville to Newark and San Ramon to Livermore except for Pleasanton, they have now lost 75% of it to other company's.
They definitely dominated for a while, but wow I didn't know they've lost so much!

Very nice Spencer! Love the growl this beast puts out! I move just as fast at my job. It's rough after an hr lol. Republic Services of Fremont moves just a bit slower. Because our RL's are strictly for bulk waste pick up.

@@RecologySpencer Thank You. I worked for the Oakland Scavenger Company and managed to survive the 1987 buyout by WM.
Oh cool! WMs been servicing there since 87? Makes sense given the high amounts of older WMX carts and trucks.
@@RecologySpencer Yes 1987, it was a sad day for us but the partners locked WM into no changes for ten years.
