Agree, but its only worth mentioning when comparing the two imo. If we're just talking about how to win a hole, or how a hole plays, its not worth mentioning (whining) about how the course is changing and getting possibly getting harder. We don't need to hear how this hole was an avg 2.6 so they changed it now its a way harder and averaging a par and the only top 10% can reach in two. In terms of professionalism its weirder to hear how holes have changed than only how to play a hole. Big Jerm ,who is a top 15% player, when he says 'this used to be 315 ft and now much harder' it can come off as him just whining about no longer having a chance to win a hole on the field.
Changes are noteworthy, I think. With these courses we see each year the holes become kind of good friends whom we're meeting again. And sometimes we think: okay, now this one comes up - but then we don't recognize it. So it's good of BigJerm to let us know, hey, it's the old guy, but it has grown... And then there are a bunch of new ones which we don't know yet and that's fine too. But old friends are special. Also, DGLO looks so different anyways since it's later in the year than the last couple of years!
editing at 25:40 is sublime well done whoever did that! also I appreciate when course changes are mentioned because I have a memory of watching last year and describing the change helps me connect my memory of the course with the new current layout. That being said its also not necessary, so you're both a little right and a little wrong.
Hahahahahaha hole 14 bickering tween Jerm and Uli “round 2” was super hilarious especially with the slo mo of Nate’s face before he tried to block it all out and threw it. Man….tears of laughter!
1. I love hearing about course changes! I've been following the sport for years and I love seeing how some of my favorite courses change over time! 2. I fully agree with the frustrations being expressed about course design. Not only is it (mostly) ensuring that only the same top 10 players will be in contention every tournament, but I feel it will also start to discourage new players from going on tour if course design gets too difficult. 3. I know some people enjoy Jerm and Uli bickering, but I couldn't help but feel bad for Brad and Nate during that argument, they looked uncomfortable. I like a bit of good razzing, but not when it develops into a full blown argument like that. Thanks for trying to lighten the mood with that montage!!
I'm huge Chris Dickerson fan and i don't bealive he will be top 10 in this tourney. This course is absolutely trash u have to go bogey free to get good run its hard
Jerm I love your knowledge drops about the history of courses. Pls pls pls write a book about it. I would love to read the history of disc golf told through your perspective.
In case you were wondering, the hold, hold, hold reference on 17 was Braveheart with Mel Gibson at the war of Sterling. Always like hearing about the hole changes too because they do make a difference.
In a practice round like this, I like hearing about the changes. In your live coverage during the round, the "new changes" would not be necessary. Thank you Nate, you're the best
I was witness to Heather Young getting a 2 on 13 at this tournament in 2021. Also I saw Paul's throw in from the bushes on 15 he talks about in the video. PS I like the hole changes being pointed out even if they are not necessary for a hole breakdown.
I feel like this is the "Sweet Spot" for Practice Rounds. Just light enough without jumping the shark costumes and gimmicks. I agree with Nate, they're both wrong. Talking about hole changes totally fits in the scope of a practice round I like that there's some critical push back about pars / length of holes. I also want a hug from my Dad.
I appreciate that the tour listened to the good response for the angled basket bases compared to the trash can looking ones, they look way cleaner and more professional.
I always get sad when they end the practice round because I could watch hours of this stuff! I love hearing the stories and the pure fun conversation between these guys!!!
I like when changes are pointed out. It's at least interesting to see how designers tweak the course to make it harder or easier for certain play styles. Edit: Also, Uli we love you, but I think you're being a bit harsh on Jerm on this one.
My thinking is. . .if a pin location is moved back but it’s still the same shot from the tee, they’d usually mention it. So using that logic you’d mention the tee pad is moved back even though it’s the same shot just longer.
I think when they have Nate there Uli gets grumpier and way more competitive lol. Definitely nice to see you point out how crazy some of the changes are.
The reason to mention hole changes is so that people who have watched the tournament before will know there were changes, in case there were holes the viewer remembered from years past that were gone or play differently. The reason they don't do that in ball golf is because those changes are much more rare. It's WAY harder to change a ball golf course than moving a basket or pouring a concrete rectangle. It's exactly the same reason you say there are NEW holes, unless Paul is arguing against that as well.
I see what Paul is saying, the hole is what it is, previous versions don't matter when describing how the hole plays now. That said, for these historic courses, mentioning that they moved the tee pad back 150 ft is definitely worth noting, especially in comparison to McBeth's perfect round. Even smaller tee pad adjustments effecting the common shot lines are worth bringing up!
Really enjoyed this practice round. I liked that it was the whole course I also liked that it felt more organic and less forced this time (more like the first year of practice rounds). Going back to the roots which I liked.
Everyone else has already said everything about the argument... can we talk about that wholesome dad moment? Right in the feels, thanks for starting that Uli and letting daddy Nate do his thing
Ii might be kinda weird to say, but it felt good to hear that you all spent an hour and a half looking for discs. Makes the regular feel good that the pros also throw shanks sometimes.
I agree with Jerm, making holes longer just to make them longer is bad course (re)design. Course designers and TD's need to remember the field when they make these uninspired changes. Making players crank out so many full power shots over and over again, is bad for the sport, especially in the long term.
When doing a hole preview during a practice round, I understand why it MIGHT not be necessary to mention a change because you are previewing the current hole as is. However, during LIVE or post produced coverage if it’s the first year the hole is different thennnnnn I think it’s necessary to mention it.
Ball golf always mentions when changes are made! On a minor scale, they cover the different pin placements for each day. On major scale, they point out when holes have been lengthened, trees removed, bunkers added, etc. It's common.
Uli is wrong because this is a practice round showing the players approach to each course. This isn't coverage of the tournament where it would be potentially distracting to bring up past layouts, it's actually part of displaying the player experience which is something that is always done so well by Jomez. Without even talking about the usefulness Uli's hostility was weird
Big Jerm and Uli remind me of an old married couple bickering over trivial crap. Good thing Papa Nate was there to help diffuse the shenanigans. And I’m with Jerm, I like the changes to the holes & course pointed out.
Low-key one of the best practice rounds ever. Jerm and Uli at each other's throat? Check! Nate with the zingers? Check! Hilarious shank from Jerm after a solid round? Check! Also, I do prefer to hear about the changes, more information is usually a good thing.
I bet there’ll be at least 15 birdies. So many of the best players on tour can bomb anymore. The power of the field compared to even 2018 when Paul went -18 has increased a lot.
5:02 - Jeremy throws a distance driver for a putter approach and (duh) the disc goes 90 feet long. 5:10 - Jeremy explains how hard of a hole it is. 😂😂😂 Jerm I love ya man, probably because I do the same things hahaha
Bradley's face @ 23:25 is every kid when their parents are arguing. "La la la. Everything is okay. They'll stop arguing eventually. Candy candy candy."

"you're both 100% wrong" Nate never misses
The voice of reason, Papa Nate gotta stop the kids fighting.
New shirt?
I just came to say this.
I definitely appreciate when changes are pointed out!
Pauls wrong
@@chbou1313 But he was right on hole 14 birdies round 1...
Same, I think Paul was being short sighted comparing the announcements to traditional golf
Uli was stuck in his ways its ok cuz we are stubborn men
It shows the evolution of the sport and I like when it's mentioned
The awkward little argument was pure gold. Bradley just standing by looking around and Nate just with his head down like “this sh*t again” 😂
For the record, knowing the difference in the holes since McBeth shot a perfect round is very relevant and noteworthy.
Agree, but its only worth mentioning when comparing the two imo. If we're just talking about how to win a hole, or how a hole plays, its not worth mentioning (whining) about how the course is changing and getting possibly getting harder. changes to the course are actually a big part of what I want to see in a practice round
Nate dying inside at 23:55
Don't worry Nate we feel your pain
Changes are noteworthy, I think. With these courses we see each year the holes become kind of good friends whom we're meeting again. The editing on this one was next level.
Good to see Papa Nate back in the practice rounds
16:30 Throwing "found" disks?
-Jerm and Paul are two brothers fighting
- Papa Nate tells them they're both wrong
-poor Bradley is the awkward cousin in between the family feud
I was laughing so hard when the "serious throwing error" voice-over came on during Big Jerm's 2nd shot on #17... ;)
25min in was just pure argument gold. love the editing.
Hahahahahaha hole 14 bickering tween Jerm and Uli “round 2” was super hilarious especially with the slo mo of Nate’s face before he tried to block it all out and threw it. Man….tears of laughter!

I like when you give a brief history of the hole.

The best ace ever would be if someone threw a big anny and quoted that movie line
I like it when the changes are mentioned. Thanks 😊 Germ!
I like that you tell the changes. It helps me who has watched this over the years.
Groovy, thanks for the gnarly content dudes

Hole changes are very nice to know

Thank you for pointing out the changes year-over-year. Never stop.
I'm with Jerm on hearing the hole changes. This is a PRACTICE round.
I appreciate that the tour listened to the good response for the angled basket bases compared to the trash can looking ones, they look way cleaner and more professional.
I like hearing about the course changes.
"whats that in my pocket? A hug?"
That made me cry.
Love you all

Changes absolutely need to be pointed out! It totally makes a difference how the hole plays out.
Pointing out the course changes is noteworthy. I feel like Uli turned into Hunter from Foundation for a few minutes here 😂
My thinking is. . .if a pin location is moved back but it’s still the same shot from the tee, they’d usually mention it. So using that logic you’d mention the tee pad is moved back even though it’s the same shot just longer.

I appreciate knowing the hole changed. Not being there, might not notice on coverage and puts current shots into context vs prior years
And there were 24 birdies on day 1, including Big Jerm and Bradley haha
I'm with Jerm. Changes to holes are noteworthy and should be mentioned.

This practice round was a classic, nobody was cutting anyone any slack. One of my absolute favs
Really enjoyed this practice round. I liked that it was the whole course I also liked that it felt more organic and less forced this time (more like the first year of practice rounds). Going back to the roots which I liked.
1:41 I can totally hear Chris Dickerson saying "Good stop. Such a good stop."
I definitely want to know when a hole changes Paul.
It’s nice to hear tee changes
This might be the funniest Mic’d up practice round yet! Very entertaining. Great watch.
Going off the fairway in Kensington is absolutely brutal, I fell your pain guys.
I agree with Jerm, making holes longer just to make them longer is bad course (re)design. Course designers and TD's need to remember the field when they make these uninspired changes. Making players crank out so many full power shots over and over again, is bad for the sport, especially in the long term.

I think you need to mention the changes to the course. As a viewer I feel like it has a huge impact on how I react to the scores they make.
And then they started again ... I busted out laughing!
Sorry Paul, changes are indeed spoken of regularly. Jerm, I’m happy to hear about historic changes, I’ve never been there.
25:41 best edit ever!!! Thank you JoMez!!
New favorite word "luckoberry" thanks Bradley!
It’s heartwarming to see pros complain the holes are too long. That’s how most of us feel every time we play.
Nate, that's how I feel when you aren't there! Those2 just can't not argue...
Ball golf always mentions when changes are made! On a minor scale, they cover the different pin placements for each day. On major scale, they point out when holes have been lengthened, trees removed, bunkers added, etc. It's common.
I like the unreachable holes! It's almost like me playing very reachable holes😎😎
Suggestion for the hole breakdowns. How the DGTP tee signs while or after the hole breakdown! Those DGPT tee signs are top quality!
17:33-“how do you do that?!” Move hands and neck side to side 😂
This was the best! So much fun watching you goofballs. TY!
24:00 Papa Nate is done with your shit and he's turning this car around! 🤣🤣🤣
Thank goodness for The Editors.
For me getting to know the changes to the course is maybe the most I get from these practise rounds.
Agree with Uli, small changes like tee being pushed back don’t need to be mentioned unless it completely changes the hole.
Could also talk about Brad's shot at the perserve. His deep throw in was clutch considering that was the hardest hole.
42:52
Nate happy about not having missed any birdie putts.... cause he's barely had any :D
Silver lining.
I’ve been smiling all day looking forward to this. Thank you for the quality!
Big Jerm and Uli remind me of an old married couple bickering over trivial crap. Good thing Papa Nate was there to help diffuse the shenanigans.
And I’m with Jerm, I like the changes to the holes & course pointed out.
45:34 Bradley with the unacknowledged Men in Black reference.
Lol Paul was describing a scene in Braveheart with the horses and the spikes
I agree with jerm, I like knowing when things change. Also please stop comparing disc golf to ball golf and trying to make them the same 🙏 please
They may be the most comparable activities that exist
They moved some teeboxes back for some holes at Augusta (the Masters) a while back as an attempt to "Tiger-Proof" the course
Conflict Creates Conversation
At 23 minutes I'm 100% with big Jerm!
I’m all about the hole changes personally!
The look on Nate's face.... Daddy and Daddy are fighting again.....
New course changes are a must, and to settle the argument the masters talks about tees moving backward EVERY SINGLE YEAR! Still love uli though
Hey, I have a disc in a tree to the right of 11 from that same sort of "serious throwing error"!
They definitely talk about the layout of almost every hole in golf tournaments
Lol at the argument and the fast forward haha
Nothing like some jomez practice round banter to put you to sleep 😴
Low-key one of the best practice rounds ever. Jerm and Uli at each other's throat? Check! Nate with the zingers? Check! Hilarious shank from Jerm after a solid round? Check! Also, I do prefer to hear about the changes, more information is usually a good thing.
I like knowing how the tees have changed.
Yeah, they mention tee box changes at golf tournaments. Changes are mentioned.
Nate looking like the dad driving while the kids fight in the backseat 😂
Your both right, now give it up! Lol this is me and my buddies 100%
I bet there’ll be at least 15 birdies. So many of the best players on tour can bomb anymore. The power of the field compared to even 2018 when Paul went -18 has increased a lot.

That was the FPO basket you saw in the picture. That approach still came up 150' short
Thank you team Jomez. 🙏
HOOOLD! - Braveheart
23:55
*I feel ya, Nate.*
🤣
24 birdies by MPO in round one on Hole 14. Time to pay up, Jerm 😜
Dang that was tough to watch and I was eating ice cream 🍨. Good thing Nate was there 😎
Bradley's face @ 23:25 is every kid when their parents are arguing. "La la la. Everything is okay. They'll stop arguing eventually. Candy candy candy."
As a Ulibariatarian im gonna have to agree.
