I cannot remember how many times Momota has seemingly played without a clue in the first third of the game and lagged 6, 7, 8 points behind, only to catch up and win the set and match comfortably.

Abian's highest world ranking is 20. What you are watching here is not Abian being bad. You're watching Momota being great.
Abian's footwork looking bad is mostly due to Momota's ability to keep Abian guessing.

he didn't play badminton till he was 18, when you start at a such an old age it gets pretty difficult to master every aspect of the game

Momota played neutral shots most of the time even he had the opportunity to smash.

Can anyone tell me why Kento is able to dominate so much even though not playing at his full speed, I mean why is the opponent struggling so much to get to the shuttle unlike Momota, I'm new to the sport, thanks in advance!

In our opinion, it comes down to footwork, speed and consistency. Kento's footwork is arguably the most fluid we have seen, which sometimes even makes him look as if he isn't moving as fast as he really is. So, he's naturally also very quick and light on his feet and has an amazing defense. Finally, his consistency means that he very rarely makes any unforced errors. All of this combined with his incredible fitness allows him to sustain this long-rally play style and dominate 🏸 Welcome to our amazing sport! 😄

Lol..u can see clearly how momota smashed was..that was a warm up match for him..just because some of the rally was long doesn't mean that momota struggles to end the rally..most of professional players did this when they face a weak opponent cause they want to keep "sweat until the next match "
