How can I get one I'm in Nigeria please
The “10 to 2 position isn’t recommended nowadays, it should be 20 to 4. The former was used pre power steering to give extra pulling power when turning the wheel. If it’s being used and air bags are deployed you can end up punching yourself in the face and causing a lot of damage. 20-4 these days!
I'm not sure that's logical. A) 10-3 was taught when I learned and specifically instructed for airbag cars, and airbags haven't changed. And B) I find in 10-3 I can apply gentle inputs, but when down at 20-4 my inputs are much higher force as they engage biceps first. Again, we were always taught that 20-4 was lazy and likely to cause overreaction. Either way, very few people drive how they were instructed anyway, they drive how is comfortable in the specific vehicle they're in.
Guidosimplex should pay you for this! Thanks for the very comprehensive presentation. How 'easy' is to steer and at the same time accelerate? I am used to an over ring accelerator which i can push with the thenar area of my hand while steering.
dimitris lambrianides thanks and hopefully it helps to show this for people. They also make the over ring accelerator. I find this one easier myself.
This looks lethal in an emergency movement, I'd grab the ring with the wheel.
The ring moves with the wheel, if you grab both to steer in an emergency there would be no acceleration, it accelerates when you move the ring relative to the steering wheel. This is a different movement from your finger tips and isn't possible if yours tightly gripping the wheel (from someone who uses these controls)
An 'overing' is a lot more dangerous as pressing the ring to the wheel (aka gripping tighly) causes the acceleration. However with both cases, engaging the brake makes the accelerator automatically disable so it's fine
I've been driving my shop rider Cadiz mobility scooter now for a while, and what I love about it is the lack of needing to use your feet, as mine tend to go numb... But I'm wondering, why a wheel(the ghost eccelerator) why not a lever like on a scooter, lever on the left side brake on the right...??
Manufacturers provide many different options which mean feet don't have to be used but, of course, they all have to provide for accelerating, braking & steering.
Are they in america
