It's good to see a family operation like yours. Not worrying about competing with the neighbor on who has newest equipment or how much farmland you own. Like the Midwest where I live.
Happy New Year to you& your family Mike. That's a different method of using the bin sweep. Thanks for the ride along to the elevator & back. Take care.
You are fortunate that you have a full service mill available. Years ago every town had a mill and a scale. I was thinking where the closest scale was to me, then my brain fog lifted, 1/2 mile up my road!!!!
You ever feel the need to sweep up more bins I’d be glad to have you stop in later this spring and summer. I always like to leave a few bins to clean out in August when it’s 95 or 100 out. Let me know what dates work for you and I’ll put you in the calendar. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@mikep7810 thank you very much, wish i could find a job on a dairy farm, every summer i spend a week on a dairy farm in the 1000 islands and i love it and enjoy helping out
Great awesome video mike and dad , all work pays off when u get that cheque from your beans wherever they go , our beans only got 1 ton to the acre that’s not so good . Our corn 🌽 was 4 to 5 to the acre I heard a friend of ours got 6 ton to the acre after corn 🌽 Kubota there is nothing wrong with them , they are making a strong stamp in the tractor market and with versatile partnership on the big tractors is a huge step forward
Kind of neat how that auger works. It's like a silo unloader. We don't have one of those. We used the Ames shovels. Like the kind you find at the farm store. 🤣 Calloused hands are a benefit!!
A shame you did not do a timelapse on youre trip to the mill, btw i saw some bad wheather in some eastern states, how are you quys doing? Thanks man and have a good day greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
It was about an hour drive with the loaded truck so that would have been a long time staring at my mug even doing a time lapse. We got some rain but nothing too bad
Just remember to be careful doing that. We've had 2 people killed in the last 3 years in our area caught in the sweep arm. Also keep an eye on the cord . Had a friend electrocuted 10 years ago with a bad wire on the motor
I've seen people clean out grain bins before, but didn't know there were different height settings for the sweep- that is handy!
Yeah its nice to take the sweep in layers
Nice to see your Dad in the video.
He makes some appearances once in a while

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoy the videos
Aren't you glad you only had to clean one bin out this harvest haha. Happy new year
Haha. It wasn't too bad. The dust is what made it bad. Corn wouldn't have been too bad
Happy New Year to you& your family Mike. That's a different method of using the bin sweep. Thanks for the ride along to the elevator & back. Take care.
Thanks Ron. Happy New Year to you and your family too

That's exactly why we never fixed the wheel on our bin sweep feeds to much material to fast to the center of the bin
Its not too bad, just every now and then we turn it off and let it catch up
happy new year mike
Thank you Peter. Happy New Year to you too
busy day

Thank you Bruce. We are really careful when we are in there
That little tractor shouldn't burn much fuel on the auger
No it doesnt really burn that much fuel. Especially when we only have a couple truck loads to load out
Mikep7810 can you use it next year for filing the corn bin?
Is that where you get you're feed from how many bushel can you haul on that truck loaded
Yes thats where we get our feed from. The truck holds 9 ton
How many bushels can your soybean bin hold?
The one bin holds 5500 bushels and the other bin holds 6500
Are those westeel bins mike ? And I forgot to ask you the other day do you know anybody with some used duals bolt on 10 lug for a 4840
They are GSI grain bins. I'll see if anyone knows of any. I have a buddy with a 4840 but he uses duals on it still
they dont give you much room for error going across the scale
Its not too bad. It looks a lot worse on video
Happy New Year
Thank you Shawn. Happy New Year to you too
