    Sorry to say but that looks like dropsy, me ol' mucka,Sorry for the loss.
    I have a number of koi for around 17 years now and know i'll be loosing a few over the next few years i guess

      Yeah I think so to with dropsy mate. Prob bought on by infection from fin rot

    Sorry for the loss mate may just be stress of an old fish with the tail injury and too weak to fight it causing the symptoms which were fatal
    Good luck with the pond it happens to everyone at sometime 👍👍

    Have you salted pond mate ,get upto .3 then id Chor T day 1 and day 2 poss 3 then 24 hours later get salt up to .45 and add acriflavrin to water then over few days get upto .6 if you could see the 2 x 70cm koi i had looking dead on side for 2 weeks there now both eating and swimming !

      just salt bathed . ive got pond plants so i dont like to salt the pond and i have treated with acriflavin also
