Hollow Knight but I can't get Crystal Dash

- A long time ago, a runner called moglar created an insane alternate route to finish Hollow Knight with Isma's Tear instead of Crystal Dash. More recently, Ins0mnia proved that it was possible to complete and now here I am giving a shot at it myself, enjoy!

I saw it before, broke it, but decided fuck false knight and kept fighting and won. Dunno why
I legit just got the game and didn't know about it
I’m sorry to say, but that breakable wall was so obvious that when he called it a “skip,” it legit made me second guess myself and look to see if there was a way to break the wall faster or use wall cling storage or something. But not knowing of it is also completely natural with this game. One of the best parts of hollow knight is its many secrets designed to encourage exploration and give each player a unique experience that will surely be cherished.
I got my GF into hollow knight and she was bragging about beating false knight after like 17 tries and I was playing a new save with her and did the false knight skip and she started getting angry at me and yelling

They’re not really near impossible. Really hard, but not near impossible. A good amount of people can do these skips. Near impossible would be stuff like ascended any radiance. Near impossible is like the amount of people who can do this can be counted on 1 hand. Near impossible things take a while.
Also, the entire run was like 2 hours which isn’t really that long.

I knew it was gonna be a good run when skurry got the false knight skip. I’ve been studying that skip for as long as I can remember and I still can’t pull it off. Skurry is truly an insanely skilled speedrunner.

@@Rabid_Nationalist the one without spell twister is technically possible but so difficult almost nobody can pull it off, and that's the route that would theoretically offer enough time save to be competitive provided you do everything first or second try

The purpose of this speedrun wasn't just to save Mila it was also to show that playing on a old patch for convince isn't always a great idea
The editing on the spike tunnels was top notch

You still need the spike tunnel after beating DD, normal people don't skip CD
That's unnecessary at all lol, you'd still need to do the spike tunnel and the skips after it.

The madman. The izma's tear route has been theoretical for years and even after discovering it's possible, it's still insane inconsistent.
have some modders put together a mod similar to the grass% one, but this time it counts all breakable lights. This includes the little head lamps the miners in crystal peak wear. Lumafly liberation %
All breakables would be fun to see

Seems too difficult for an actual speedrun, but I’d like to see a TAS of this to see how good it could theoretically be.
Watching you fail at the spikes and listening to your (lack of) reaction shows why you’re so great at the game. Biggest secret to mastery of anything is having the composure to not rage quit after multiple failures. Very inspiring!

in my casual playthrough i spent like 20 minutes trying that spike tunnel skip because I saw some speed runner do it once and I was too stubborn to go around. I think i made it on the left side and then crystal dashed through.
4:29 I find it funny how not only dash master looks like sans but sprint master, located right next to dash master in your inventory looks like papyrus

Ill just say you quickly became one of my favorite YT channels since I found you a couple months ago since I moved and can't play hollow knight for a while, caught a couple streams and it's just fun, you're good, you're entertaining and easy to watch idk... just so easy to vibe to 🤝
I'm sad that this Any% route does not have a timestamp before entering the black egg, with only dash there should be some splits on who traverses the corridor the fastest with just dash master.
Why does the rivalry of who times their dashes the most efficient not exist? Sad.

@@laytonjr6601 I think it's possible to barely do it with monarch wings. Might need the sharp shadow charm too, considering it lets your dash go a bit farther.

Nah just kidding. I don't know how exactly it is done, but it requires a very specific set of charms and fireball timing to blast through from the left side.
You probably also need wings.

The funny thing is skurry decided to do the hard way instead of just going through fungal wastes to get to deepnest and they could have gotten shade cloak which probably would have been faster

I remember learning about these Isma skips in a FireBorn video. They werent viable for speedrunning except this specific category. Guess Skurry just wanted an excuse to use them
