I saw them perform this at last year's Christmas concert, and it was so clear that the guys just loved being Kirstie's boy band backup while she was in the spotlight. Their original christmas music is so catchy!
I think Kirstie and Kevin did a great job when they wrote this song. When I first heard it I thought it was a cover because it felt like it had been around forever. That is the magic of Pentatonix though. I think it's great that you waited a year to listen to this song but I can't believe the restraint. I heard it after Christmas was finished. Great reaction. I could listen to this song year round.
This song, written by Kirstin and Kevin, is in the Pentatonix themed Netflix Christmas movie, Meet Me Next Christmas. Scott calls Kirstin an alto-soprano, which is very appropriate. The four guys filmed their parts first as Kirstin wasn’t well that day. She filmed her part later as the Christmas Fairy. Recommend the other original from the movie, Meet Me Next Christmas, written by Scott.
Pentatonix is actually in a Netflix movie called Meet Me Next Christmas. They don’t just sing, they have scenes with dialogue too. Please Santa Please plays at the very end scene and as the credits roll. They also wrote an original for the title track called same as the movie.
This has an instant classic Christmas song vibe. This song is in their newest movie, Meet Me Next Christmas along with Meet Me Next Christmas the title song. It’s on Netflix and it’s adorable.
All of the member can change their tone, depending whether they are trying to blend or are singing solo. When Kirstin and Mitch are singing harmonies together it's hard to tell them apart, but singing solo they can really let go.
I thought the storytelling was very clever how they made Kirstin as the Cmas fairy sprinkle snow or showed tiny presents under a fake tree, then the next scene is that in real time at the friends dinner. And at the end, the gold present showing up under the tiny fake tree & the real one showing up at the front door. Took me a couple times watching it to find all those connections - VERY clever. And such a creative way to reframe a plan when one of them is sick but the studio is scheduled.
🎄Kitstie and Kevin (and another writer)wrote this song. Kitstie was sick so she was not on the set with the guys, so her role in the video is that she is Santa. Kirstie's vocal range is mezzo/soprano, alto.
Lately, the guys have sort of listed her as Alto-soprano. Her voice has matured in the past few years, probably since pregnancy. I wonder if #2 will change it further?
Hi Danielle, Great reaction as always! PTX has taken to using a little more production to add to their obvious greatness. I’m pretty sure though that they overlayed Mitch on that high bgv. It’s pretty much the same note that he produced in Can’t Hold Us descant, and the closing note on The Prayer. Merry Christmas ❤
This was arranged in the 1960's Phil Spector "wall of sound" style. He used a lot of layering of instruments and voices. So this PTX version has layers of vocals and an instrumental track, making it hard to tell who is singing what. There are some live versions that might help sort out who's doing what, but they have a backing track when they do it live.

Mitch and Matt harmonies are top notch. A good example is in PTX’s Mad World.

Meet Me Next Christmas is a fun and really good Hallmark type Christmas movie and the gang have lots of funny moments within the movie.
Kirstins lower register is so smokey and mellow. A lot of warmth!😊😊😊

She and Kevin write this and she was sick when they filmed. So they added her in as a Christmas fairy.

Actually, according to the BTS video, she is the Christmas Fairy.
Fun is the word of the day! ❤PTX🎶

This should get more airplay, like every other song they have ever done.....
The only Christmas music that should be played is PTX and TSO.
This actually is in a Netflix Christmas movie!
I love this song! I cover it on ukulele!
I'm guessing there was some Kirstin double tracking in this song?

It's double tracked Kirstin
