Thank you for your sharing. I benefited a lot. At first, my windows 10 could not join the domain. Later, I successfully joined the domain after turning off the IPtable.service.

Sir I totally loved this video, just by chance do you have any other tutorial to do exactly the same in a Linux client? rhel 7 or 8 based if possible 🙏

It would be the same for REHL 8, I am using CenOS/Rocky they are built off the same source code.

great video. curious, is there a way to set up a AD trust between this linux box and a windows AD?

You can make it a secondary domain controller or just a member of the domain so you can assign right to the files with samba.

Thank you very much. Everything worked great until I tried to implement group policies. If you type "samba-gpudate" in linux, do you get errors about add_local_groups getpwuid failed, is nsswitch configured, and "Failed to get machine token for ..."? I was able to load the admx and adml template files, but trying to use GPO's says they are missing when trying to use GPO's in Windows.

Yeah, I wouldn't put this solution into an environment where they are using GPO's. I normally use it in small environments where they have less than 10 workstations.
