      "No one is safe". While the movie did sustain this quote (they are in danger the whole movie), I think they should have had at least let one of the core four die or at least be severely/permanently injured to show more of an impact (though we don't know what state poor Chad is in, but he did walk off V pretty well). Having all characters that were in Scream V survive while basically every new character dying was a bit jarring to me (much like Scream 3 & 4), as both the girlfriend dies and spoiler...
      all 3 ghostfaces characters were introduced and killed in this movie. Im kinda of sad they introduced the idea of sparing a killer because it could have started a fun trend in a nod to Stu (it also could have been great character work to have the father live on, as his actions lead to the death of all of his children and making him live with that would be worse then any misery the sisters could have given him). BTW Sam's boyfriend is the only new character that is left standing in this movie. That aside its a great movie, and I can't wait to see what they do in the future.

    My only complaint about the commentary and reactions to 6 is that people suggest Tony doesn't count as a "real" ghostface. I think the scariest part of the opening, and maybe it's a build up to the "cult" motive we'll eventually see, is that there were two sets of ghosteface killers planning a killing spree at the same exact time independent of each other. You pair that with Sam being recognizable and hated when seen on the streets, it's just very scary because it means even at the conclusion of the film, the odds seem high that more ghostfaces will be popping up in a matter of time.

    • @taz9863

    Something I also want to add here in Scream 6 is that in the case of Anika, she felt more than just canon fodder. More than just another body count for Ghostface to put on his list. You really felt for her and you really wanted to root for her survival.

  • @thecustomizer2008

    Despite Jason only having 1 kill and having only like 6 minutes of Screen Time, he is underrated. He had a pretty brutal kill, he was able to set up a date with his victim and lure her outside, and he was planning to kill Sam & Tara, and the way he described killing Laura was eerie and kinda disturbing since I know lots of killers use that terminology, that their victims are animals. Also, my memory may be mistaken but I thought I heard Jason mention on the phone that they were finishing Ritchie’s film, so I had guessed that him and Greg were friends with Ritchie and that’s how Det. Bailey found out they were planning to kill Sam & Tara

    • @1bwash
      @1bwash Год назад +9

      Him being named Jason makes it seem like he might be a throw-away character and this is the end of him, but I would like to see them explore of his story. I think if they end up ever going with the "cult" of killers route, there will be a lot of young guys who might idolize or sympathize with Jason, viewing him as a victim because he didn't get to complete his mission or whatever. Very scary stuff.

The only thing that i just hate since scream (2022) is Sam having these visions of Billy, i can't help but roll my eyes every time that it happens, besides that, i love it so much! I couldn't see the 5th one because my cinemas closed because of the omicron. It sucks because 5cream came out on my birthday. I understand if people didn't like the killers in this one but it didn't ruin the movie for me. And I know some people are annoyed with the Jenna Ortega hype especially after Wednesday. I've seen Letterboxd reviews with 5-star ratings only talking about how much they love Jenna Ortega and not mention other aspects of Scream VI. Excellent deep dive, it's my 2nd favourite in the franchise after Scream 4 despite some frustrating moments like Chad surviving THAT attack (likeable character though so I'm glad he survived but come on) and Mindy surviving being completely gutted, Detective Bailey just allowing Sam to run at him when he has enough time to unload an entire clip into her, Gale choosing to leave the safety of her gun cabinet when she has the perfect vantage point with a loaded gun pointed at the only way in or out but its good moments are really damn good - the opening mask reveal to throw the audience off, the return of Kirby who I have always felt since Scream 4 could potentially carry the franchise if they ever decided to make Sidney one of the opening girls, Sam temporarily embracing her father's murderous side in order to turn the tables on the attackers (great use of "I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me" feeling earned) and some great set pieces including the ladder sequence, the subway sequence (very effective and very Wes Craven) and the refreshing subversion of audience expectations when usually in a Scream movie, the attacker will always disappear if a group of people suddenly come together, especially in a public place so to see a Ghostface who isn't deterred at all by following his targets into a relatively busy convenience store was a big "holy s***" moment!

    But the rage for the father is not an excuse, like, it was 20/30 years ago for him, maybe if he was just a failed Jedi but didn't try to kill his nephew, because he always tries to see good in people, then he could be at the same position, but not with such a drastic change of heart.
    I'm happy with good changes, but just because we need change, it doesn't mean I'll like a bad one. But great video! Our analysis need to be less passionate and more respectful like this!

FYI, your last sentence is literally what you were accusing me of being. It’s too broad, it’s to generalize. It doesn’t show anything specific like how my comment does. So if anybody’s opinion is not valid, it’s yours.

      @@sharkquisha3407 what are you talking about? Scream is, was, & will always be Wes Cravens franchise, NOT Matt & Tyler’s. They stole cause it was easier to use someone else’s ideas (even their scrapped ideas), then rely on their own talents.
      I gave specific multiple examples, yet you come back with a general statement about using knifes.
      I’m done, bye

      @@briansvcrtaperecordings6295 pretty sure Wes Craven had some hand in giving the rights to them. Even if he didnt its still a better Scream movie than the last 3.

    Scream 6 is a copy cat of scream 2. Nothing about this film was original . Not understanding all the praise.
