Nah. The K Series was good. So much so Ford in the early '90's considered buying the Rover Group when BAe offered it for sale (BMW ultimately bid high to kill interest from rivals), chiefly to nab the then new K Series.
@@DutchBane No worries, and thanks 🙂👍 . The K Series wasn't perfect (the way it was bolted together arguably being a less ideal choice than what could have been opted for), but it was a modern engine - more so than what Ford had in the same size range at the time - that gets a lot of guff that is largely undeserved / overstated. The Triumph V8 also gets a lot of unfair criticism (compared to the smidgen of legit' criticism), when its main issues (such as blown head gaskets) were actually due to: • Overarching BL thrift that Triumph could do nout about, which was why the Radiator was undersized, and the block had less well machined channels & galleys than should've been the case (supposedly because BL denied a request to update some of the relevant tooling machinery). • Insufficient attention to mantainance requirements that were clearly spelt out in the handbook, but were often overlooked by owners & service garage staff alike. This often led to drive belts that had missed replacement intervals snapping and the engine being avoidably ruined.
Hi Android Fanboy...... go to comments made at about 1 minute comparing the looks of the car to two particular females. OK it is not grotesque, it is simply cheap, in my opinion. It detracts from what is otherwise an entertaining clip. I agree with you, though. Top gear was not generally sexist and had a high level of clever humour.
How does this make it in any ways sexist though. Top Gear has always compared cars to celebrities, even in the newer series. Remember the Rolls Royce Corniche was considered to be Elton John, while they said the Mercedes Benz Grosser was a Gorbatsjov in car form? Those remarks weren't considered as sexist so neither should these. Of course, these remarks were about their personalities and not their looks, but Top Gear has compared the looks of male celebrities to cars as well (although I can't remember a case at the top of my head).
With all these VHS defects all you need to do is slow the whole thing down and put a funny filter on it and it'll be V A P O U R W A V E
