Great refurbishing effort and the end results looks great too. If you plan on doing more of this type refurbishing, get yourself a pneumatic stapler. It will help with such upholstering work amazingly! Just an idea... Thumbs Up!

Beautiful work! What is the benefit of scraping the wood before sanding it?

By scraping, I remove the old varnish. Without this, grinding is very long, and a lot of consumables will go away.
