Visiting Norman's Rare Guitars is right near the top of my bucket list for sure.
Yeah, sure nuff'
Mine too! Would love to just stand there and watch Lemmo record GOTD
Same!!
@@antorini-hj3tm what’s cool is if you’re in they will sometimes let you do guitar of the day. Especially if you’re a kid or an old dude with stories.
Same here
A fine instrument in the hands of a skilled musician is a beautiful thing.
The surface checking on that beautiful guitar is like the crackling in an old master painting , very nice .
Amazing Guitar , played by the Amazing Lemmo
Man, what a great sounding instrument!
Babe I’m gonna leave you Is one of the most soulful zep songs
Rad job lemmo. You never disappoint
That guitar comes complete with rare Mojo at no extra charge.
these, they don't play everything, but when you hit the right notes and chords, start to glow in colorful tones that are warm and just magical. no other guitars does what the spruce and mahogany banners do
First guitar in a long time that I liked. Lemo played pretty well today. Jen's solid. Good Show.
Oh gawd, a maple backed and sided Gibson, the warmth and smoothness of velvet. Perfect…
I’d be interested in some quick interviews with the buyers of these guitars-
You are amazing, you deserve to hold and strum this beautiful and iconic guitar,…!
The acoustics don’t always sound that awesome, but that one sounds like a dream! I wonder what type of pick Lemo was using?
Damn. That was a sweet sounding guitar and sweet playing to go with it. Bravo Lemmo!
Wonderful guitar. I like that they made some of these with maple. Maple guitars are something I love, for sure.
Maple..like ringing a bell...great demo..Lemmo...! ..would have loved to hear "wish you were here" on it...And Totally Todd the "mustache man" play it as well.
Babe I’m gonna leave you the best track ever.
Man that guitar 🎸 .. I am in love 🥰. It sounds like I thought it was going to sound.... sometimes a guitar looks like it might sound a certain way. But it doesn’t... this one delivered 😄.
Only Gibson has the iconic fat bottom girls sound , big bottom end , but still bright and jangly enough for those twelvth fret chords , very nice , that maple does sound a bit different , sort of dark gothic moody , very cool , luv the color , very checked out vibey , great playing as always Michael , thanks.
What is that first jazz tune Lemmo played in the back? Gorgeous
Too bad there isn’t a 5 way switch, so we could hear 5 songs 🤚 lol. Looking forward to hearing a Strat tomorrow Mike, don’t let me down...
Even before tuning it sounds beautiful
May I never go deaf. I know I’m day late and a probably many a dollar short. That is a keeper. It has the that ‘thang’ the Roy Smecks have...they bark in a particular way ...and it sounds so good up the fretboard . It would have been stellar with any wood though I have to wonder if someone tapped that top and said to themselves...you know that would sound awful good with this maple.....or in probably the case, the next B and S in the pile.Maybe I’m hearing too much into that sound but I do recognize that thunder you feel through your chest when play an em. The thickness of that lacquer seems to vary so much through these years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Martin with that heavy a check. It looks heavy handed but it’s obviously lessened some of its grip from its birth. I thought working at a record store was hell on my wallet.
Once again my fav day of the week .... That guitar sounds amazing ... But when mike plays it ... It seems more so ... One of the rare times u could have heard a pin drop at the end of song ....
Personally I can't play others music prolly and apparently I'm not good nuff yet but all the same really gonna try and learn this one ... Thnx guys ....
Good work Jen ...
You should play again that iconic tune Mickael, it's a magical song & you do it so good !
guess what song will be stuck in my head all day.. thanks lemmo
this lemmo guy is good. this was a joy to listen to.
Beautiful guitar 🎸
Great playing Mr. Lemmo!

Enjoyed that one, well done Lemmo
WOO WOO!!!!!!
Such a dream guitar man! Love hearing a J-45 even with that rare make! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Wow! That guitar barks like a dog with that maple back and sides. That demo was beautiful. The music seems to jump out of the instrument.
Wooooo,wooooo!!!!
Damn. A guitar that came from the WWII period.
that's a very pretty and rare great sounding guitar. Loved IT,🤩
Beautiful sounding guitar.
Is that solid maple back or layered? I seem to remember reading maple J-45s were layered. Doesn't really matter - sounds awesome. Flattop Friday - my fave episode of GOTD!!!
Few things on this planet I wouldn’t feel bad beating someone up and taking, and this is one of those. Lol
That’s a keeper right there! 👍
Like to see / here a Brazilian Rosewood j-45 or AJ , with a little age on it . Doesn't seem to be very many of them out there . When they appear , usually sold pretty quick . One of these is next for my collection !
Does anybody know the song he played @ 2:46 ? It's so beautiful!
Love a Canadian finish. Lets it breathe.
What is that song he's playing at 2:48? Beautiful!
Lovely
Everything is in place n nice except I don’t like Gibsons for the checkering on most all the old ones n some new too. Beautiful playing Lemmo 👍🏻😜👌❤️🌷
The natural checkering is THE BEST PART!
Roars like a lion.

@@SebastianGonzalez-cf1jl the one before that, the jazzy one he did in the back
It looks like my dads, his father(my grandfather) handed it down to him in the 80s..I was just a baby when he passed.
That guitar will be mine one day💜

@@pissonguitarcenter8204 lol! I may rip the top off, install a block, rout it out for Floyd Rose, then slap the top back on...glue and thumb tacks will work, right?😅🤣

What is checking
If you look at the lines in the finish from age...thats checking
beautiful guitar but boy do I hate Led Zeppelin
Several of these made in 43-45 are laminated. Be careful
I have no doubt, these old guitars are worth a lot of money, simply because of their age and rarity.
But, I laugh at these beard strokers, all dribbling over the sound, because most of them sound very average indeed. This one sounded flat, and boring. Most sound awful.
A modern hand-built acoustic, from a good luthier, sounds a million times better.
obviously you havent played a pre war D martin
@@gregwilson2721 No I haven't, but then again, I don't judge guitars on nostalgia and look at them through rose-tinted spectacles.
A modern hand built guitar is always going to be much better, because a luthier today has the previous 100+ years of knowledge to draw on, in order to make the best instrument possible.
It is like saying a car from the 1920's is better than a modern car, it's ridiculous.
@@DjNikGnashers 'a luthier today has the previous 100+ years of knowledge to draw on, in order to make the best instrument possible.' and thats exactly what they are doing. do your homework. a ton of 'modern luthiers' are building pretty much copies of pre war martins. even the chinese are building copies, check out recording king guitars. you have a lot to learn, play a pre war then you will understand what the rest of the guitar world already understands.
@@gregwilson2721 My go-to guitar is a Lowden.
George Lowden has refined the whole process, and has designed his own methods which far exceed any pre-war Martin.
His 5 piece neck is much stiffer, meaning alternate tunings do not affect the string height in any way, his unique bracing system produces a much longer sustain, and the way he builds makes his guitars the most balanced and with the most pleasing harmonics.
He is not alone, and dozens of other modern luthier's have their own super-developed systems.
I suggest you do YOUR research sir, and stop thinking guitar design hasn't evolved in 100+ years.
I wouldn't own or play a 'chinese copy' of a guitar from 100 years ago lol, and if you think that is the ultimate in instrument design, I probably shouldn't be even trying to discuss this subject with you, because you don't understand the subject matter.
Get your hair cut..shine your shoes...and join the army...guitars not bad though...
Lol
Sounds so good Hi Jen
