I've a question shouldn't we use x-7 instead of 7-x? Please if you can help me get over this doubt
It's 7-x. 7 is the number that speak French and Spanish (but some may or may not speak Italian also). X is the number that speak all languages (French, Spanish and Italian). So we subtract x from 7 to get the ones that speak French and Spanish ONLY.
Nothing gets taught in this class because everyone speaks a different language

Make sure the stuff in green + the intersection (x) = 7,9 and 11 respectively. We can do only do this by subtracting x

23+25+20-7-5-9+x=50 then u will get 9 and again subtract with 4 (the students who do not speak any language) then ur result will be 5. The method which u have shown is very time consuming and for competitive exam u will not get enough time to put this method and marking with x in every circle.
Hi Jyotishman, thank you for your input. In the beginning it's useful for students to learn the longer method, step by step and then once they get more comfortable with the problems, move onto faster solutions for exams. thanks for your comment!
Wooooow it was way faster in every topic of math we are forced to learn the long and time consuming way at least i wish they tell us both ways not only the long one

Be careful when you are adding or subtracting in the different regions. It is correct X is 5
