Even his earliest appearance hints at his true character. Aang is willing to surrender if he leaves. Zuko agrees and keeps his word, leaves the village unharmed.
I never understood why in most stories (even real life), the bad guys would just burn down the village and kill the innocent people anyway, for literally no reason. It's such a standard, that it actually stands out to us when someone keeps their word and doesn't harm the innocent civilians.
It makes me wonder how so many people don't realise that they're evil.
Aang the protagonist and Zuko the antagonist parallel to each other
the act of selfishness (aang) leaving the monks that result of death of his people and the act of selflessness (Zuko) Speaking against Sacrificing his own people.
I saw this commet on another video
Book 1: Zuko tries to get his Honer back.
Book 2: Zuko questions his Honer.
Book 3: Zuko finds his Honer.
Great video explaining his story and why his redemption arc is so good and it’s up there with Ebenezer Scrooge as one of the best redemption arcs of all time and he’s easily one of my favourite fictional characters ever and it’s hard to believe that season one Zuko and season three are the same person
This makes me much more hype for the zuko solo movie coming in 2025😩
Beautiful video explaining his arc, zuko is easily a top 3 character
It's crazy how Zuko could've ended the war.
I have a theory. I believe that Azulon ordered Ozai to kill his only son for other reasons besides to teach him a lesson.
Azulon describes Lu Ten as Iroh's beloved son. I always thought that was strange. Then, it occurred to me that Lu Ten was not only Iroh's only offspring, but Lu Ten was also Azulon's first grandchild. Azulon was grieving the death of his grandchild. Ozai sees that death as nothing more than a stepping stone to the throne. Azulon lashes out.
More importantly, Azulon knows Ozai is a cold hearted, power hungry psychopath. His daughter, Azula, is fruit from the same rotten tree, and Zuko is weak in so many ways. If Azulon orders Zuko's death it will tear Ozai's family apart whether Ozai does it or not. It all but assures Ozai will never become Fire Lord.
But, Azulon never thought that Ozai and Ursa would work together to kill him and take the throne. Ursa was protecting her son while Ozai would kill anyone to achieve the throne.
Another good video. Continue the great work!
Damn nice video good analysis
nah i disagree... It was great 😜
Awsome video glad to see it
Amazing video!
Thx!
@@NotoriousShot No problem.
How did zuko not get blinded in his left eye? His ear got barbecued so his eyelid would definitely be cooked and at best his eye would be cauterized to his retina especially considering he has a darker scar directly over his eye suggest thats where it hit directly
I loved this video and all the insight you shared! I'm in agreement about pretty much everything you said!
I realize that this video is a year old now, but I have some constructive criticism if you're willing to entertain it.
It seems like some of your sentences get 'clipped' by editing. I think that can be countered by more thorough and formalized scripting.
I also noticed that at some points, you'd abruptly cut the music, play part of another swelling, emotionally impactful song, then abruptly return to the music you had earlier. This can be jarring to the audience, and cause folks to lose focus!
Anyway, I'm not a video creator. I might be talking out of my ass here, but I hope you're able to glean something useful from it! Thanks for your time
Always taking constructive feedback no matter how old the video is, any feedback is helpful👌
Villains don't need to be likeable, I really wish people would stop saying that.
It makes the story that much more enjoyable
16:07 BLACK SUN BLACK SUN BLACK SUN
18:25 TEARBENDING
Always with the background song from the Pripyat sniper mission in CoD4 MW🤌
I always thought Vageta’s arc change was dope too
But like, ursa probably killed azulon and ozai just told her to fuck off because she killed his dad, right? I mean that’s what I always got. Haven’t read the comics tho
u prolly should they explain it in detail in the first one
@@knowledge4448 yea no I remembered the day after commenting. Day of the black sun part 2. But still
iirc ozai told her to kill azulon
@@zainarr might be, that feels like good headcannon
