@@TrigunnerX3 Ooo, what about a bleeding effect instead of more damage, since disease was the biggest issue after being shot by a flintlock back before modern medicine? Would fit in to the whole "espionage" thing too.
I don't know much about guns, but I recall one of the devs of the Meat Fortress VR game saying the revolver's geometry was a nightmare. They had to change a lot to make it work mechanically.
Meat Fortress is a gamemode of the vr game Hotdogs Horseshoes and Handgrenades, and all the weapons are fairly faithful, but modified to function as actual weapons (demos stickybomb launcher takes stripper clips, scouts scattergun actually has ammo etc)
I love how this weapon jam animation short is able to so perfectly capture the Spy's personality. The exasperated and sarcastic "fantastic," the gentlemanly "pardon me," and the even more exasperated "and, we're done" are perfect. While someone reading this might be thinking, "of course it sounds like Spy; those are voicelines from the game!", it's not just the voicelines themselves... it's the execution - the contextualization, if you will - like the timing and the selection of the specific quotes. "And, we're done" comes from the end of the Spy's square-dancing taunt, but it works equally well (if not better) in this context!
Team Fortress Far Cry 2. Update notes: -Weapon Rebalance. - Added new weapons. - Mandatory weapon maitance. - Weapons can jam, missfire, and suffer catastrophic malufunctions if not maintained. - Updated the Localization files.
Ya see, this is why we don’t *_FLICK_* our revolvers closed. We close them like a sensible person and squeeze the cylinder and frame together with your palm and fingers.
Just want to point out how much of a coincidence it is that Hyper and Burno made animations about revolvers, using it improperly, and it catastrophically failing.
New Weapon! The Factory Defect: Level 1 Revolver +MEME Loadout Prodigy -Slim chance of the swing-out cylinder jamming / the gun firing any remaining rounds all at once. -Must recover another weapon from a resupply cabinet or off another Spy. Identical to Spy's regular double-action, six-shot revolver. The ivory grips, damage, and even the bullets used with this lethal weapon are the same as the original. Whether by sabotage or a factory accident, this weapon has the slim chance of blowing up in your hand. You won't know till you pull that trigger and test your luck.
Really great animation, love all the small details you added to it. Like the part at -0:12 where he adjusts the gun in his hand to get a better grip. It's also got that sort of cartoonish animation to it, it's not too realistic like the normal gun animation vids. I also like how much little stuff you have going on off frame with everything else. Like the little twitches n such. gewd stuff, you really improve dramatically everytime you post.
Theres a spy weapon, Defect’s Derringer. +50% damage, shots pierce through enemies, -25% reload speed, - every other reload fires all rounds at once upon firing, cannot crit
Honestly, after watching enough of the SFM joke reloads and Mikeburnfire videos, once I saw Spy slam the chamber back in, I was sitting there mentally screaming like SPY NO-
Would be cool if the whole game looked like this. I can't lie this looks good af, smooth animations , the gun feels heavy but not like overdone. really good
I love the personality in these, from Spy's short frustration trying to open the revolver to "Welp, fuck it~" when the revolver explodes, just incredible! Also, I love the little sound work in this, like separating Spy's "What the hell?" voice line in two while inspecting the revolver and the use of Spy's laugh when the revolver explodes, I think it adds a lot.
REMEMBER, hitting the cylinder can damage the gun, along with a whole other bunch of stuff that can damage the gun, its a fucking miracle spy's revolver has lasted this long
i was keeping my eyes on spy's trigger finger the whole time. it never once went into the trigger guard except when he was ready to fire. i appreciate that. also i love the sound design and love his little yell when the gun explodes
Thank you for fully captioning the voice lines (they seem a bit quiet for me) and, even more importantly, thank you for captioning the gun sounds, the accent is really heavy so the test made everythinguch clearer.
Animation's really well done how ever I have one little nit pick because all the cartages are used when the gun blows up from the cylinder and the only reason why I point this out is because the hammer fires one round only at a time. Again amazing animation quality with light and animation sequencing; well done.
I just remembered. In accordance with the old comics, this actually seems plausible. Because Mann Co. products were notoriously faulty and had a habit of *catching on fire.*
You need to be the animator for some big shooter companies because this short animation alone looks better than some of the animations in the big leagues.
