Native speaker here ----> The conversation about the book club is very, very formal and you probably never hear a native speaking like this. If you are friends with someone, or even someone you just met, its still too formal. My example: "Hi, Stephanie! Did you know about the book club at the library? Did ya wanna sign up with me?" Usually normal converstions are more relaxed and, unless someone asked, probably wouldn't name all of the books the club will read etc. Don't focus on every word or every syllable being perfect or correct.....
