As a Kashmiri, I agree 💯. Most or may be all of it is because of us locals. We need a mass awareness program here😔

As an Indian , we are really stubborn! We don't want to change at all ! As local , they also don't want to put any effort to keep area clean ! As a visitor, we also spoil the beauty of locations. How many poor families traveling? Mostly in these places maximum so called educated tourists come n spoiled! These so called educated tourists visit foreign countries n keep posting photos n comments of beauty of those places but don't care to keep Indian places clean . This is reality.

Just came back to home after spending 2 nights in Gurez, at the same spot. All my excitement flew the moment I saw these kind of pathetic visuals. You've talked about the issue around 7months ago but after 7 months I mean today the visuals are more worse. The river in Gurez valley seems pure but when I saw the garbage flowing and on the banks made me change my pov to the extent that I used only packaged drinking water for straight 02 days.
Gurez valley suffer from adminstrative negligence especially JK Tourism. I found no dustbin there not a single one so where will the garbage dumped?.... Be it locals, campers or tourists, we all are responsible for the demage.
The tourism figure in Gurez has gone above 300-500 mark daily. So, it's the need of the hour for the administration and for us also to act like Responsible citizen and save these kind of places.

I'm glad that you've addressed this problem. I visited Dewar in first week of September and my feelings were same as yours.
The problem is lack of proper planning in tourism sector.

This is so true. Went there earlier in September (2023) & can say, this is sadly true.
Tourism needs a better management here. Especially waste management.
It is indeed a beautiful place - Dawar (Gurez Valley)

Many vloggers has raised this issue since long and will keep pointing. There are many organisations that collect garbage from mountains, so how much they can do... If local people are not aware... I have seen so much garbage in my Gangotri yatra... Sometimes dumped into the bhagirathi river....how will awareness come. Humans have the tendency to destroy what they are blessed with....

Govt must has to imposed collections of deposit against sales of food items packed in plastic wrap including cold drinks / water. Seller must has to take deposit from customer n give them back when they return plastic wrap n bottles once consumed. Govt must had imposed penalties to sellers of tourist areas who are earning from tourists. To keep these areas clean is their responsibility too. Govt can issue licenses to seller who agree to keep areas clean n responsible for to collect back used wrap n plastic bottles from customer.

Very true... I also feel very disappointed by the behaviour of the people, how they throw the garbage everywhere, make a place not worth seeing,as if they will not return to the place again.I most of the time avoid being to public places, specially tourist destinations.... only bcoz of this major reason.
