Scientifically you can in theory swim in a spent fuel pool as long as you stay near the top as the water essentially stops the radiation however I wouldn't recommend finding out what happens
Yes, you’ll be fine unless you dive deep down. The water may be warm but that’s no problem. You’re pretty much shielded from the radiation.

You actually get a lower dose of radiation if you're swimming in a spent fuel pool than just standing out in the sun. it's only dangerous if you were to go down and touch the bottom. Sometimes, the rods can leak and contaminate the pool. this is rare, however.

You would be perfectly fine in the fuel pool because the water would protect you from radiation. It would be warm, colder than your average hot tub but still a bit warm. Just hope you didn't turn off the water circulation it's how the water has been cooling the fuel rods for decades.

You mean swimming pool for the reactor but still yah thats sucks probs spent water from the reactor but i think thats bullshit because once they remove the water radition will come out so they just add and add water after activating the reactor since activating reactor is super hot about 500-2000 degrees and can atleast release about 20k roentgen idk how many x rays but i "guess" about 5000-5500 x rays and without hydrogen aka water nothing will block the radition from leaking

Do you know that you are not affected by radiation while swimming in a spent fuel pool filled with water? The hidrogen of the water acts as a shield and radiations have harder times traveling in it. This means that if you just stay on the surface without actually getting too close to the spent fuel rod, you won't be harmed in any way.
When the staff has to get near the spent fuel rods, they actually have to wear an hazman suit.

The pools are basically safe to swim in so long as you stay at the surface, it only becomes lethal when you start diving to the bottom

His fine if he doesn’t touch the bottom. Spent Nuclear Fuel pools house spent Fuel Rods. Why do they put it in water tho? In its dry form, Fuel Rods emit Radiation, but in water, the Hydrogen keeps it in one space, it acts like a barrier, so, the Radiation won’t be reaching the surface anytime soon. So, it’s way more safe if you don’t swim to the bottom, in-fact, these pools are safer than your average swimming pool, so, yeah. I learnt this from What If, I’m saying this so I don’t get a copyright strike XD

The pool was completely safe to swim IRL, the water used to cooling the spent fuel rods and act like a shield from radiation. It will feel warm, just don’t touch the fuel rod because it was REAL HOT. You can watch a video about this.

@@guhh8792 mates you don't know anything bout Nuclear Reactor facility its safe even the water has less radiation than the yearly radiation dose but inside the core you Will be dead within a week or two if you stand in the core for 15 - 30 seconds so the facility is not dangerous.
