On this episode, we share a few more additions to the build.
Starting with our portable twin induction cooktop; Ange tries it for the first time cooking brekkie and was very impressed!
We chose this unit as it was affordable, relatively energy efficient and portable.
We are however still on a hunt for the best portable gas cooker for our outdoor kitchen - any recommendations appreciated!
We also share with you Chris' wiring progress with our 2600w Enerdrive inverter - coming up soon: the DC2DC charger and solar!
Finally, after listening to your feedback, we make some changes on our diesel heater set up and show you our new 10L diesel heater tank.
Key message from this week; it's not all rainbows and butterflies! It's important to celebrate every little victory and not get overwhelmed by big projects!

I've had a weber Q which is the medium size. For durability, I bought it in 2003 and had to buy 2 new grill plates, it starts the first time every time and it did have 3 years outside with no cover. It is a bit different in the way you cook, with the lid down. I don't know the size you have to work with but they have a Baby Q which is quite small. Also, it cooks a wide variety like pizzas, roasts, as well as normal grills, I did a cake in it once. There are now a good variety of similar styles in other brands, all a little pricey but I think mine will last another 18 years so probably worth It.
By the way, your work looks as good as anything professional I've seen. You're getting there a lot quicker than I thought you would and you make a great team.

I’ve tried a few 2 burner gas stoves and at the end settled on a Primus 2 burner deluxe stove. Main reasons: flames are far enough apart to fit two large pots, and it’s one of the very few camp stoves where you can actually adjust the heat granularly. Bought 7 years ago - still going strong.

Hey Guys please check the rules around 230v in a mobile vehicle for WA. For example in NSW you need to switch the active and neutral cables at the same time and earthing the chassis (check your inverter instructions for that as it's got the RCD and any additional earth points could interfere with it's safety operation). DC cabinet looks great!

You guys are going to take your Mog overseas! Omg I’m so jealous! Are you going to just drive him thru the Torres straight with an extra long snorkel 😁 hey just a heads up, you probably already know, all those induction cooktops turn on and off at max power. So when it says 200w, it’s actually an average over time. I just went thru 4 different ones trying to find one that actually pulled 200w. None do. Just means you’ll have to be aware of what else you have on if you’re running both cookers. Not long now guys! Watching every episode ✌️

Don’t be hard on yourselves, all you can do is tackle each hurdle 1 at a time.
My only suggestion would be to place isolation switch away from circuit board to allow the ability to shut off without exposing yourself to possible hazards. You don’t need a long run, just somewhere at the door entry so you can shut it down & also a good idea to have extinguisher in same location.
Also have a look at Westinghouse portable induction cooktops as I have single unit & twin unit. They are a better quality induction than majority & slimmest on the market
    Otherwise great job 👍

love the overhead cabinet guys, the little diesel tank should be great mounted on the mudguard I reckon. Don't stress your perceived level of progress to please the audience or anyone guys. I can tell you that i was injured and can no longer do mainstream work but every day i try to complete a task or learn something new, hence my Rock and Gem addiction and general mechanical tinkering. So long as you achieved or learnt each day then life is as it should be. There is a definite downturn in RUclips audience numbers it seems so managing an unknown and irregular income stream with a big build project must be stressful to say the least. Just a reminder that in Australia you must get your 230 volt wiring done by a licensed electrician.
Have a chat with them to find what you are able to do before they finish and test the job.

@@TheOutFit Glad to read that! Your english is quite good to my ear, but I love the little "accent" behind it: looking forward watching the rest of your build project!
Je ne sais pas si vous l'avez fait lors de précédentes vidéos mais il serait intéressant que vous nous racontiez ce qui a amené une française si loin de chez-elle!

Chris, 240 volt refrigerators take approximately 7 times their running watts to start efficiently, refrig should ALWAYS be the first appliance started. Personally do NOT believe that 2600 watts will be sufficient for your needs!!

Hey Merv, depends on the type of motor. The old school split phase start compressor pulls a lot of power on start (even so.. it wouldn't be an issue with decent sized inverter). The starting power from an inverter fridge is negligible compared with its running current.

If you want to see a crazy chicken throw an empty egg shell at its feet. Chickens need alot of calcium and the shell helps it. Anyhow enough useless information. I wish I was your age again. I will tell you something, STOP STRESSING ABOUT US, it is your life. You are honoring us with sharing a little of it with us. Sometimes you guys need to take a break and give yourselves some alone time. Believe me I don't know how my Wife has lasted 19 years. I have only just realized I need to give her more time. Please be careful and make sure that the both of you come first and RUclips second. I am still wondering about the baby bath though! 🤣

Good video, but I feel you will get very annoyed at the fans on that induction stovetop. My god that thing is loud. They do make ones which don’t sound like that…but they cost more. I understand trying out keep costs down, but if a unit is to annoying and you don’t use it…that’s money wasted. 10L for your heater seems small, but maybe you won’t use it that much in Australia. Live confidently and peacefully

*Please* do your own research on HOW, induction cooking increases your exposure to high levels of EMF radiation.
