Hey, I'm Lucas, and I'm excited to share with you my workflow for discovering and organizing Splice one-shot samples and loops on Mac Finder, and then seamlessly auditioning them at your session tempo in Ableton Live.
In this video, I'll guide you through the process of navigating Splice's library of materials and show you some handy tips to speed up your browsing experience. If you've ever found the browsing process a bit slow or struggled with loading samples into your Ableton Live browser, worry no more! By the end of this video, you'll be able to streamline your workflow and find the perfect sounds. Let me know in the comments if this helps!

Thanks this helped alot, however just to add though, the bridge function helps to audion sounds in realtime because it automatically adjusts the tempo of the sound you wana hear on splice before committing to dowloading it which is awesome. But yes for the sounds you've already downloaded, its way cooler having them integrated in your DAW rather than having to go back and forth with Splice. Thanks again!

Can you think of any reason my Ableton will only accept a synth sound and not a beat? thanks

No, you can drag and drop any WAV, mp3 files right into ableton it doesn't matter what instrument it is.

All these sub folders are driving me crazy. you would think splice would have made some options for organizing efficiently. With you r method you are duplicating all the files right? i guess you could just move them but idk. it would be nice if it just organized them automatically like the daw does. Do i dare make all these folders and organize them manually before i get so far down the line and then have to relocate all the files because i renamed a folder.

I did duplicate since it doesn't take up too much space. Also what you mentioned about the relocating files can be really annoying so definitely make sure you're good on a location before producing, otherwise you gotta collect all and save everything

WHEN I DRAG THE FILE from splice TO ABLETON, it does not work

That's weird. go you your splice files in finder and try from there.

Is this still relevant since Splice now has "The Bridge?"

I have to say, I was hoping to say no but I downloaded and started using the bridge and I'd still rather download my loops and just audition them in ableton. Sounds better and is easier to navigate when you're in the same window in your daw.

Still relevant IMHO as it gives greater flexibility in organizing Splice loops thru using nested folders. Not as useful in Logic Pro though as the Untagged Loops browser doesn't consistently get the tempo analysis right and offers no way to correct afaik.
