I tend to agree with you on several points here, but I think the most important takeaway from chaos magick that you glossed over is the metaphysical idea that chaos is the primal underlying force in the universe (Peter Carroll outlines this in Liber Null and Psychonaut). Theoretically anything could happen at any time and that's why we can't be attached to any one belief system or frame of thinking
Grateful as ever for your levelheadedness, humility, wisdom and clarity The way you acknowledge as many sides of any viewpoint, but still have your own views without judgement for any others who are at different points of their journey encourages nothing but appreciation and trust. Thank you for sharing
agreed. we tend to forget that the traditional magic trchniques were also developed by people just like us - who invented methodologies for themselves. As much as they worked with their creativity - we can do the same. Being creative. move with change and the most important thing - having fun
i like your words, Frater. "belief as a tool" the balance of the individual vs the community; freedom vs duty. i personally think that many small systems that can cohabitate = most healthy. we need to let go of our grip on a singular vision of the Divine/Truth. the God that i pray to is complex enough to present any face a human needs to see Them
"Pardon the rumbling ,it's just a storm outside." Seems like the chaos of thunder and lightning outside, is quite synchronistic for this particular discussion
Plato's cave teaches us that truth cannot be free from perception, and therefore, to at least some degree, belief defines the world we live in. i choose to live in a magical world. this choice/belief plays a large roll in how i define my value system and react to the rest of the world. we can choose to see the color if we want; or live in the grey of logic and entropy as a former emo punk, self proclaimed chaos magician, and practicing scientist, i felt that the root of it (chaos magic) was exploring magic from its most base principles and assumptions; reexamining the core "equations" (spells), from a modern perspective, picking and choosing among the sweetest cherries produced by the various mystery schools.
I was intrigued by chaos magic and I loved the idea of the Kia and emanation from nothingness and all of the ideas related to that, but then Peter Carroll etc try to teach people the Hebrew alphabet and all of the basic rudiments of the Golden Dawn system. It all felt like a bait and switch. If I wanted to read standard non-chaotic occult material, I would have done so. The Kia is a really important spiritual concept and I spend a lot of time with it, but written material from chaos magicians is astonishingly unhelpful.
agreed! the loss of collective & increased individualism also bears out current astrology--this tool open to anybody. so astrology would be a technique open to any esotericist or even theodocratic type. i can't subsist in the 'anti-movement,' even atheistc seeming free form magic mode. i have WAY too much a bone for nostalgia, which brings up sentimentality or nostalgia itself as a magical mode of expression. i'm not even sure what this quite would be called . . .
Part of why you say you don’t like chaos magick sounds more like you’re implying that people are lazy or more that you yourself are lazy. You speak of as if it’s just cherry picking, when to incorporate these different practices, you have to spend time with all of them and learn them all to understand. If anything it’s more of an endeavor than sticking with just one practice. I tend to believe chaos magicians and eclectic practitioners are actually way more well versed in everything as a whole. You literally have to study all of these things. You’re almost implying that it’s not to be taken as seriously. It’s like saying someone who’s learned only one skill has a better tool box than someone who’s taken the time to learn multiple skills in depth.
I'm not surprised Chaos Magick doesn't appeal to you, I think there's more chance of you becoming a Rastafarian than a Chaos magician again, with the points you mentioned after your revelation that your political stance had changed - you sound like a white Ayaan Hirsi ali. I think a certain psychology/mindset is required to be a Chaos Magician.
12:44 This ability cannot be restricted to chaos magicians. Am I unique because I do not believe that the Bible is the literal word of God??? I am an ex Biologist. I belief that God made the world but only in a magical ritual sense. Outside of That I do not!
So you wrote some kind of sigil on a a piece of paper and you empowered it through concentrating and intensely putting some intent into it, and it worked. What worked? Be moree specific or i can´t take this seriously at all, stop being so vague. Always, it´s always vague and i know just why.

love hearing opinions from people whom are passionate
So good! Thanks for this synthesis! Loved the comparison of magick practices to music genres. Great thorough treatment of all the interweavings
...cogent and timely thoughts...thanks.
I deeply appreciate your message in this video. I use very few tools in my practice because I am the 'tool' per se.
Thank you.
Thank you! What do you think about Quareia? Is it worth it?

Hot Take: a metapostmodern chaos magician is just a prophetic artist
I keep seeing dust floating about in many of your recordings - unless they're orbs that you cannot feel in that moment of commentating.

Love me a bit of chaos but I really FEEL when others have, however inadvertently, offered me a well worn path...
26:27 interesting how the approach of an inside joke imparted such authentic potency.
Just being curious. What were those political views of 5 years ago ?
I never had any success in any kind of ritual, why?

Chaos/Order is just another dualistic delusion.
I really enjoyed this video. Excellent work. Your insights into things give me confirmation about my own findings.
How does one have a True Will if. "Nothing is true..."?
nothing is real, everything is allowed to exist. free will is a gift from God. It’s a priviledge of being its creation. We are permitted to exist

I think most channels I follow end up also being aspies
wait why does he end up spitting fire at 17:30 with his ideas and preludes on postmodernism?

*Edit*
He just explained its appeal and usefulness, however, when stretched too thin, it becomes ungrounded. What do you mean?

Perhaps he is being intentionally vague because the people he was influencing with the sigil might be watching this video.
What is wrong with magick is that they spell it wrong.
Probably, good point.
Do you give classes online by any chance.
