I absolutely love this series. I was fortunate to visit Granada years ago and saw the King and Queen’s tomb. BTW just bought this album on ITunes, love Richie Blackmore and Dio, great choice of music 👍

I am just fascinated with Spanish history. I just wish I could actually see these series from beginning to end. But also need them in English or subtitles. I watch the clips on you tube in Spanish and imagine what is going on, but don’t get the full effect.

@@aarooandpytha7623 That Isabel the catholic was the grandmother of Isabel of Portugal, perhaps. As well as the grandmother of Charles V.
There was also Isabella I of Castile’s mother. Her name was also Isabella of Portugal, Queen of Castile. Just saying.

@@margaritamartin4424 No sabes ni de que hablas . vivió en 1400 .No compares en absoluto las prioridades y costumbres de entonces con lo de ahora. Fanática , eso eres tu .Estudia historia y ...no dirás algo como lo que dices.
Los Faraones de Egipto, (por ejemplo )se unían hermanos con hermanas y ...Otras cosas peores . Yo no puedo hacer una crítica como la tú haces con Isabel ....nunca.

Incredible to see how grandmother and grandaughter are so much alike. There are even similar scenes of these two in Isabel and Carlos Rey Emperador series, like the ones where both faint in their husbands' arms before finding out they're pregnant with their first child, or those where they are uncounscious after childbirth (Isabella of Castile almost died after her daughter Maria's birth, Isabella of Portugal's mother. Isabella of Portugal lost counsciousness after giving birth to Philip II. Both Ferdinand and Charles stay by their loved ones' side, praying to God to spare them. There was also similarities between them during their last pregnancies. Isabella of Castile could run the danger of dying but fortunately it didn't happen and she gave birth to Catherine of Aragon with her husband Ferdinand by her side. Isabella of Portugal ran the same risk and gave birth to a dead boy with Charles also by her side but in this case things did not go so well and Isabella of Portugal actually died.
Remember that serie in order to be more attractive/dramatic is always a bit fictionalized.
When Isabel de Portugal died, Carlos V, her husband was not even near her.
