This is the second in a trilogy for Agustd (Suga from BTS) and this storyline represents his alter ego that was born from trauma (Deachwita, Haegum, Amygdala) but the good news is that he achieves healing. Suga's talent knows no bounds. The lyrics are so very important (I wish I could have seen them on the screen with you guys). BTS are incredible artists, and some are now putting out some amazing solo work before serving their mandatory military service. BTS covers all genres, they have almost 10 years of discography. They write, compose, produce, they are true artists and definitely not a "boy band". BTS has something for everyone... and the rap line is fire as well, but Suga/Agustd is surely the G of the group as you can see here in his solo work. Please delve into the BTS rabbit hole (ARMY, the fan base, will help guide you), watch some introductions to the group for perspective, pay close attention to the lyrics and just enjoy great music; you will not be disappointed. There's a reason they are the #1 artist in the world. Great reaction, thanks
Agust d is Suga from BTS, it’s the name of his alter ego. Under the name of Agust d he talks about things, he wouldn’t talk about in BTS’s songs. Both of the characters were played by him(Suga).
Actually I wouldn’t say that he doesn’t talk in BTS these topic because he does talk about them in his songs they are just more toned down and sometimes more censored. For example BTS songs (and his verses): Blue and Grey, Tomorrow, Ugh, Paradise, Airplane pt. 2 and Life Goes On
AgustD (Suga) is the only one credited for writing and producing this (and is known for his use of Korean instruments and unique beats) he also writes the storyboards for his MVs. He’s a producer, rapper, writer and one of the musical pillars that has made BTS the biggest group in the world. He goes more hardcore as his alter ego AgustD. He’s often fighting himself in his MVs, his inner greedy corrupt self (here the corrupt cop, in Daechwita the angry greedy king who beheads anyone who opposes him -as Suga can verbally beat up anyone with his insane rapping shit talking skills). He’s an extremely deep thinker who often calls out or critiques society and talks about his own issues like his mental health. If you like fast rap his first solo MV as AgustD is self titled “AgustD” it has a sequel MV “Give It to me”, then the trilogy of Daechwita, Haegum, Amygdala (not in plot but in the themes and analogies he uses). His 2 mixtapes (D1, D2) and now his first official album (DDay) are some of the most raw amazing no skip albums. He produced or co-produced every song on all 3. His MVs are full of Easter eggs (a signature BTS thing). He did reference Tony Montana (Scarface) and the Batman Joker throughout this so good eye. He’s in the first leg of his solo sold out tour as AgustD I get to see this live next week! For a similar hard raw edge strongly recommend his fellow rapper in BTS, JHope (just started his military service) had his first full solo album last year Jack in the Box (MVs “More” and “Arson” both very hard tracks). The leader of BTS RM had his first solo album last year but it was lighter more melodic but some of the most beautiful rap lyrics I’ve heard freaking masterpiece (he also has 2 mixtapes his first is the most raw and intense if that’s your thing). As they are all about to enter the military for mandatory service each of the 7 members of BTS is stretching creatively releasing solo albums. We’ve had JHope, RM, Jimin, Suga so far Taehyung (no idea might be jazz album) and Jungkook rumored to be releasing theirs later this year. Jin is 6 months into his military service due out next year when he will likely release his album.
Someone pointed out to me that the red chopsticks have a duality - like the haeguem instrument has 2 strings, the chopstick had 2 roles. In the beginning, they took life, in the end, they sustained life (fed him.)
The word"Haegeum" has a double meaning. On one side, it’s a traditional Korean string instrument that he uses for the track but it also means "“allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden” or lifting a prohibition
At this moment he is doing a solo worldtour... He is in LA now. Fans camping out in tents... He is the real deal. First rapper alive sold more than 1 million copies of his album on the first day 🤯🤯🤯💜💜💜 Please react to more. New sub from the Netherlands ✌️✌️
He just released a solo album and is on world tour before having to go in the military. I just saw him in concert last week. You never gonna find a bad song fom BTS or their solo work i recommend Outro tear live with the 3 rap line of bts. If you want more Agust D check out Deachwita and Amygdala they were part of a trilogy with this song you just reacted to. I recommend his his whole album is fire called d-day. Also he played both characters in this video the one in the suit is a corrupt cop he was walking out of the police station in first sceen. He wrote, produced and even did the story board for heageum. It has two meanings the first it is a musical instrument which you heard at the beginning
There’s always several layers to BTSs music. In this one, we’re talking about liberation and corruption. The guy in the suit is a corrupt police detective, and the rebel stole from him. That’s the surface layer to this video. We can go deeper, but since you’re new to their music, let’s leave it at that for now. Their music is up to interpretation and that’s one reason why they’re unique and has so many fans, because their music means something and is very thought provoking. Not just your average band with catchy beats, meaningless lyrics and flashy videos
Great reaction, you guys were so quick onto what was happening in the mv (did you realise that Agust D was playing both characters?) Please check out the 2 title tracks of his first 2 mix-tapes (they both have mvs) 'Agust D' by Agust D. and 'Daechwita'. Both are FIRE songs, you will enjoy them.
agust d is one of my favorite rappers, from my opinion these songs are the surface of all his art, most of his songs are so intense and sentimental, they should react to more
particularly to shadow (mv and extended version), dear my friend, the last, song request, amygdala, so far away, snooze, etc. He also has collaborations with other artists such as Halsey and Juice World.
I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you. Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work. Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes - this is his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control) Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D". Suga/AgustD was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Yoongi wrote, produced, composed the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control.... he is a true genius. This is the middle song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as - Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others Haegeum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place. Hope you have a great day💜💜Sending Greetings from Australia
This was so interesting. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us. We love learning more about each artist from their fans. Thanks for watching our videos and for your support 😊
BTS and BTS member works are both highly diverse and often chock filled with messaging. Member Suga (aka Agust D) has a history of stretching the bounds of more conventional Idol music. Utilizing this Idol platform, which is founded on a relatively vanilla commercially driven brand of showmanship which most groups stick to, was only a necessary inconvenience to his being able to promulgate what he has wanted to put out. From BTS's outset, Suga's verses have been packed with sometimes unchecked self-expression which leave his listeners with idiosyncratic experiences. The bonus to his distinct artistry is Suga also happens to be a top tier producer who outside artists have used on their own works.
In Daechwita mv, Yoongi has 6 men with him that represented the BTS members, and a lady that represented the armys. Here in Haegeum, Yoongi also has the 6 men with him. Always representing the members having his back.
So this isn't KPOP, this is straight up K-Hip Hop. It also hit the number one spot on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart (D-Day album by Agust D). And he debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. He's on a sold out World Tour right now, and I will be seeing him next Tuesday the 16th. All seven of BTS members are highly talented and diverse in their music. This song has a triology. And all three of them are very cinematic. SUGA aka AGUST D is known for using tradition Korean instruments and music, while mixing modern beats. He is a highly sought after producer, and this song was written and produced solely by him. He writes, composes and produces for BTS, his solo projects, and for other artists. He's won awards for his production skills. He also does the story boards for all his music videos. What you will find out about BTS, is they are involved in every aspect of their music. KPOP Suga has said is more integrated content that includes the music, the visuals (video, fashion, etc.), choreography, etc. It isn't necessarily a genre of music. Korean artists tend to get put in this category, no matter what genre they are representing. I will link you the trilogy. *Agust D Trilogy - Daechwita is from his 2nd mixtape D-2, and the other 2 are from his recent album D-Day* Agust D - Daechwita (turn on CC's) - ruclips.net/video/qGjAWJ2zWWI/видео.html Agust D - Haegeum (turn on CC's) Dance Practice - ruclips.net/video/0TwkvwyiEWc/видео.html Agust D - Amygdala (turn on CC's) - ruclips.net/video/IX1dkYoLHVs/видео.html
@@TripTipsPodcast Here are the meanings to the terms for the songs. The last song, Amygdala is his story, and there is a trigger warning on it. So you might have some feelings, especially if you have experienced trauma. But it's worth every second of watching and experiencing. I'll include some explanation of the terms for the songs below. *Meanings for the titles* *Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.) *Haegeum* - has two meanings. The first, it's a traditional Korean string instrument, resembling a vertical fiddle with two strings, usually played at Royal Court. Also, it means to lift a ban, or release what is forbidden. *Amygdala* - is an almond shaped part of our brain which is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, including detection of threat and activation of our fight or flight response. The amygdala helps to store memories of events and emotions so that an individual may be able to recognize similar events in the future.
You guys finally got to the real BTS more BTS recommendations: MORE by Jhope AMYGDALA by Agust D FAKE LOVE EXTENDED VERSION by BTS RUN BTS by BTS Cypher 3: killer by BTS DOPE by BTS Fire by BTS
BTS has 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. All 3 rappers go hard....but then BTS can go hard too. BTS probably has 8-10 genre's. There's something for EVERYBODY 😊
Haeguem has two meanings both are important to the track. Haeguem is a 2 stringed Tradition Korean Instrument played with a bow. The Second meaning of Haeguem means 'To lift remove a ban from something that's banned or considered taboo' such as Agust D smoking in this MV. For those Kpop Idol's smoking is a taboo and can cause fans to turn against them and Kpop companies to revoke their contracts. However not for BTS member's as their company BigHit/HYBE given BTS complete artist freedom, they've even been given share's in the company. Suga is one of the 3 Rappers in BTS the other's are RM and J Hope. Kpop isn't really a genre of music. The Rap Line of BTS are 3 of the best Rappers in the Business. In Fact Suga (aka Agust D) has just set a new world record with this new Album 'D-Day' as the only Rapper in the world to sell 1millions physical copies of an Album on it's release day. He is also in the middle of his solo tour right now in the USA before he goes off to do his military service. Two members are already entered their military service Jin and J Hope. Suga's and RM will be the next two to enter followed by Jimin, V, and Joonkook. All of them are getting out their solo work out before they go do their military service. They'll regroup as BTS in 2025.
K-pop is not really a musical genre. Suga / august d once explained it in an interview K-pop is the integration of music vocals rap dancing choreography makeup clothing to form a total experience. Most K-pop groups include singers rappers and dancers and all members perform most roles to some extant… the prevalent musical genres are r&b, pop, hip hop… In BTS there are 3 rappers, 4 vocalists and while all dance there are 4 who are the dance line… BTS themselves cross hip hop pop ballad Latin pop r&b etc often in the same track… all members also perform solos inside and outside the group… So For another great video from Suga/agust d (and a part of a trilogy with haegeum and amygdala) watch daechwita MV For heavier rap line songs watch Outro tear live from wembley Ciphers 1-4 lives with subs or lyric videos Intro persona MV Interlude shadow MV Outro ego MV From the whole group Well there are over 300 tracks to choose from so welcome to our rabbit hole lol Try fire MV Answer love myself from enjoy BTS more channel Mikrokosmos from enjoy BTS more channel Run BTS live from Busan with subs Fake love MV Black swan MV Mic drop mv On kinetic manifesto MV Hip hop lover live with subs Idol MV Proof live from Las Vegas To get a cross section Welcome💜
Being rock fans I'm sure you'll appreciate J-Hope's More: ruclips.net/video/pKdBFeewZYE/видео.html Here's his whole performance where he headlined Lollapalooza 2022 (Full): ruclips.net/video/6ak5yOmj8W8/видео.html They are all awesome, some songs won't be for you, but if you continue believe me when I say, you'll find an amazing amount of music to love. Many rock fans have fallen in love with BTS music, so do continue. It's fun watching reactors going down the rabbit hole! 😂😂
Loved your reaction! Agust D is a rapper so I wouldn't put this in the kpop category although western media bunches all Korean music under the kpop label which is very frustrating as someone who has listened to all kinds of Korean music for the past 13 years. Kpop is more of an industry than a genre, most groups you come across will sound nothing alike because they constantly fuse different genres together. Even within one artist's music, you can hear a lot of variety in genres (especially in the groups that make their own music). I'd love to see y'all react to Jeff Satur's Dum Dum music video because it was actually filmed in the same hallway (in Bangkok) from the beginning of this musc video! Jeff is a Thai artist and actor who writes and produces his own music.
Suga from BTS boy group. When he does his solo project as August D,it's a trilogy, Daechwita was the first, second is Haegeum, and third is Amygdala. Thank you for the reaction. His doing his solo concert as of now. WorldcTour.
Also k pop is not pop. It’s an industry. BTS which includes Agust D aka Suga are part of the k pop world but are not considered k pop to their fans which are called ARMY. they are unique in that world. They’ve surpassed so much. AGUST d song DAECHWITA IS AMAZING. HE also wrote, composed, produced and came up with the MV concept. Sincerely he’s incredible. All BTS members are super talented individually and magnificent as a whole. There’s a lot to unpack. Also they are not like the bubble gum songs normally associated with k pop and all their songs sound and hit different. They have a hand in all their music including their own styling. That is also not too common in k pop and only recently are very select few k pop groups being given some artistic freedom. Also the song AGUST D by AGUST D is fire too.
I’ve been a lover of Rock since the early 70’s & also a long time lover of Jazz. My daughters introduced me to BTS about 2 years ago & since then it’s been an interesting journey down the rabbit hole! These young men are amazing musicians & awesome humans! Can’t wait for you to learn more about them & their music! 😊 (65 years young here - from Australia)
I love how you guys just totally got the storyline of this MV. There are a lot of parallels between this MV and the one that comes before this one in the trilogy, Daechwita. When you see that one, you'll notice that Haegeum pulled a lot of parallel visuals. Agust D (aka Suga, one of the members of that 'feminine' boy group called BTS) is such an amazing rapper. Yes, he's beautiful as hell just like the other six members, but he can also be raw and hard as f*ck when he wants to be. I got to see him live in Oakland last month, and damn. That concert was pure FIRE. He has so much talent as a rapper, a singer, a producer, everything. I'm so glad you're checking out the BTS members in their individual capacity as well as the group as a whole. Each one of them is talented enough to make it as solo artists (as we are seeing now while they are on their group hiatus to grow individually and get each of their military services out of the way), but when you get them together as a group, it's magical. I'm looking forward to seeing how your thoughts progress with each of the members and the group together. I have a good feeling about you two for some reason. Borahae!! (Which means 'I purple you' in korean as 보라 (bo-ra) is the word for purple.) It's a special phrase between BTS and Army that I hope you'll come to appreciate, sort of like a secret 'I love you', just for us fans.
This song title is genius!! Haegum means 2 different things: - a 2 string korean instrument (that you can hear at the beginning of the song) - allowing / unlocking something that's forbidden And I personally love the message of this song ♡ Since you're rock fans I'd suggest you to react to these TXT and ENHYPEN songs that have a rock sound in them: 1) TXT - 0X1 = lovesong 2) TXT - good boy gone bad 3) TXT - loser = lover 4) ENHYPEN - attention please 5) ENHYPEN - Shout out
Not the Joker...(as Every American reactor thinks ) It's a reference back to the Daechwita video when Agust D spins into the scene hanging out the car window...this is the second part of the Daechwita video. (In fact, Agust D hangs out of windows in several of his videos) August D and BTS don't usually make references to western culture. They are very much Korean and promote Korean culture. There are a few songs completely in English.. and others have a few lines/words of English here and there. The rest are completely in Korean ..with subtitles in just about every language. They are proud to be Korean and don't feel like singing in English! 😅🤣😅
The instrument you hear in the background is actually callrd a haegum which is a traditional korean instrument that has two strings. Interesting side note about the music video that i read from another ARMY. This music video was shot in Thailand in an area known as Thief Market
This song is from his (AgustD aka Suga) first official solo album called D-day (he has two mixtapes before this album). If interested here some other songs on the album you might like. I put lyrics video links down that I think that have decent translations: -Snooze (ruclips.net/video/zCNqdvR9e_w/видео.html) (fan made MV with lyrics but still really good. The songs doesn’t have a MV) -D-Day lyric video (ruclips.net/video/eomcwH09bgY/видео.html) -Huh lyric video (ruclips.net/video/pHPvV6xMEy8/видео.html) -Armygdala (has MV)
Just a suggestion you should watch these with the subtitles too... Watching this song with the subtitles on is absolute perfection and the meaning of the song is something we need now.
BTS goes way beyond and out of K pop. The whole AgustD album is fantastic. He is an amazing producer, musician, rapper. His lyrics are sooo clever, heart felt, raw, profound and wise. I love Snooze on this album.
Thank you for reacting to Agust D’s Haegeum, which is a masterpiece. You probably should check out Amygdala which has an official MV. The whole album, D-Day is a masterpiece. He also goes by Suga when doing work as a BTS member. If you liked this song, you will enjoy all BTS songs and each member’s solo works. As a 62 yo baby ARMY (the name of BTS fandom), I am able to say I enjoy rap music because of BTS. K-pop is not a genre. It describes an industry that includes fashion, makeup, music and a whole lot more. BTS covers many genres and there is something for everyone. They are known for their dancing skills, catch melodies, great vocals and most of all for their lyrics and deep messages. They are not a typical band that the westerners are used to. This is a world class band made up of seven superstars. If you like something more than dancing and singing, you’ve come to the right place. Member by member, each is enlisting in the mandatory military service in S. Korea. All of them would be enlisted by the end of this year so they can be a complete group again in mid 2025. They will have enough solo works to do a world tour by then, and I’ll be there IF I can get tickets. I saw them in Vegas in 2022 and they were fantastic. Meanwhile, you have plenty of BTS contents to react to until all members come back from the military. Agust D is currently on a world tour. You can check out his live performances on YT, and TC2868 uploaded the whole concert from Newark, NJ. The sound is not as great as being there but you can feel the energy in the arena. The concert will be also live played in theaters all over the world if you are intersected. Here is the link for more info. api-liveviewing.com/suga2023/agustd-d-day-jp/global/ . I’m definitely going to see it in a theater since I couldn’t get the tickets to see him perform in person. Enjoy this journey! 💜💜💜
Thank you for reacting to Haegeum. One of Agust D's new songs that I like (though it's not hard rap like this one)..is "Amygdala." It's a different vibe though. I think you will also like the mixtapes and solo albums of RM and JHope too. (RM, JHope and SUGA aka Agust D are the 3 rappers of BTS). If you like to listen to the vocal line, BTS have certain songs too.. like "Truth Untold" and "House of Cards" (to name a few.) Enjoy the BTS dive and journey. 😉😉
Sorry I added more information in my post. The head out the window is also a reference to the first song in this 3 set of songs it's a reference to the one on his previous mixed tape 'D-2' and the track is 'Daechwita' as is the scar and the killing of the one with the scar it's. Him killing off one side of himself.
1st ever korean rapper that goes No.1 in US top Rapper first ever korean rapper in top song sales etc alot more records he did with his DDAY album release.
So happy you are reacting to Agust D or Suga of BTS. Suga is now on his solo world tour now. He just finished his sold out concerts tour in U.S, which gross $20 million in U.S. he is the only Artist that has achieved this. BTS as group for their 4 nights sold out concerts in Vegas in 2021. They gross 60 million. Fun fact : Suga is the first and only rapper in the world . That sold 1.2 million copies of his album D-Day in one day. Congrats to Suga and BTS. 🥰💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥰
Remember the guy on the phone during the attack in the opening scene? Everyone else being taken down, but he's left alone to call the boss and tell him what's happening. That's the guy shoving him into the water barrel at the end; clearly Mr. Thief had gotten to him and flipped him at some point. This is the second of three songs/videos meant as a trilogy - if you watch Daechwita, it's the first video in the sequence, from 6 years ago, and the storyline there is mirrored in Haegeum. (It's also AWESOME.)
recommendation: dear my friend, snooze, moonlight, the last, so far away, life goes on, amygdala, honsool, strange, burn it, [first love, seesaw, shadow (individual songs of him in bts) ]
Oh I don’t think I see that anyone explained his name. Agus=Suga backwards. TD=town Deagu (hometown) So Suga in BTS (and when he produces) and AgustD when solo.
This is not about wanting to attract new people or anything but joker his favourite character and his favourite super hero is Batman too and his MV heageum is filled with references from his favourite movie named Scarface and the character name Tony Montana in that movie he also has a song name Tony Montana in his album named agustD every thing represents something in the MV like the chopsticks, fish tank, scar on the face of version of him in his mvs, and him killing them in the end too, the rooster and that joker seen too
I'm sure that you know by now that Agust D is actually Suga from BTS. I'm glad that you enjoyed his solo work so much. They have BTS songs with similar depth, but Suga, under the name Agust D, tends to go harder and darker than he does when part of the group.
60 year old Army here, from Colombia. Will suscribe just to watch you evolve and fall in love with BTS as a group and with each of its members, or at least I hope you do.💜
Thanks for subscribing to our RUclips channel. We appreciate your support. We’re loving all the kpop music and videos so far. It’s going to be a fun journey to learn and understand their music and culture. Thanks for watching our videos 👍
@@TripTipsPodcastI will be on the lookout for your BTS reactions and solo work of its members. Don't care much for other groups, I enjoy some songs from Stray Kids and Enhypen but LOVE all from BTS :-). 💜💜
The stealing Agust D being in mafia, I have always seen him as undercover cop, faking to be in with the criminals - for busting a corrupted police detective. that's why he was dropped with a police car to the restaurant. He was now out of the undercover gig.
The 3 rappers of BTS is what got me hooked on them. They are SO talented and will definitely draw you in. You must watch Daeschwita as Haegeum follows that storyline. Also, Haegeum has a lot of hidden metaphors and fun for fans (the cop stands at the rail and watches like the king in Daesch., he smiles the same as the king, the new figure dances like the king, he looks at the fish in the tank because fans refer to him as a cat, etc.). There is a lot in the video new watchers won’t catch. It’s brilliant (rapping, beats, warnings about life today and freedoms, Korean instruments, continuation of story, etc.)..
Also, another absolutely amazing artist to check out is Løren! He makes rock/alternative music, and he writes, composes, and produces it all by himself.
So AgustD is Suga of BTS when he does solo projects. You obviously loved this so you will love Daechwita by him too, was made 2/3 years ago. It should be viewed before Haegeum and a third track called Amygdala comes third. BTS rap is good, watch Mic Drop and Hiphop lover, or Joke by RM in a solo from BTS.
As some have said, this song is part of a trilogy. 1. Daechwita 2. Haegeum 3. Amygdala. I definitely suggest daechwita. It has similar vibes to heageum in terms of a movie type MV and rap sound. Amygdala is a very different vibe but should also be checked out so you can see some of his range. All the members of BTS are incredibly talented. Thanks for a great reaction!
Obviously, there are way more Korean references, tons of them, you would not just not get them till explained by Koreans which are also hidden in their lyricism. This video is also even a reference to his previous MV Daechwita which carries the same symbolism and tells a story of his life.
Please consider reacting to the songs 0x1=Lovesong ft. Seori and Loser=Lover, both are by TXT, they're a really amazing kpop group and they have some rock/alt influence.
You seen Animal Farm by Bibi? Also has some shock-violence but more of a mellow tune and was inspired by Kill Bill And her mv for Vengeance has a similar kind of feel for the back story you might enjoy
@@TripTipsPodcastAnimal Farm is a criticism on hypocrisy of upper class, and Vengence is a mob-wife vengeance kinda story. Jotto is incredible too, but that might be a bit too extreme for some audiences (about a battered woman finally snapping)
This one actually is one that follows Agust-D's song Daechwita (very similar MV vibe...super dramatic) and the other in this "trilogy" is Amygdala (this one is kind of a prequel to the other 2)...all three are amazing. This is his first "official album release" but he has 2 full "mix-tapes" which are the length and same quality but just not released as a physical album...those two were released free on the streaming sites for fans. If you like this kind of stuff you will find lots of it with his stuff, also the other 2 rappers of BTS (RM & J-hope) have some hardcore sounding music that you'd probably like, as well as a fair amount of BTS's music as a group. When the full 7 are in a song you get more of a mix of rap and vocals (since the other 4 are vocalists) but the mix is always amazing and most of their songs do have a mix of hard-hitting, lyrical rap mixed with amazing vocals. You really should check out some of all of them.
Agust D or Suga or Min yoongi .. haegeum live concert is awesome. checkout daechwita song also.. 26 may I had a great time went to his concert tour D-Day in jakarta.
09:00 since this was a month ago, I'll just comment this, since others have commented other points. Not always the references are from "American" (I guess you mean US-produced) movies, actually many if not all those movies from the last 3 decades have been copying Hong Kong and Chinese (Mainland) movies :) As well as Korean (more recently) and Japanese. The whole mafia (triads in China, Yakuza in Japan) theme and corrupt policemen/detectives exists since forever for instance. Just check some John Woo (early, pre-US) or Takeshi Kitano movies ;)
This song is layered like a wedding cake. But here is the short version. Main theme of this new album is to encourage people to live in the present. Stop comparing yourself to others on social media. Get rid of that background “noise” that may be holding you back. Free yourself from it. Don’t let it control you. You want more freedom? Ok but remember liberty does not equal license. (This MV shows us what happens when you allow that.) Perhaps we should also try not to be slaves to capitalism, prejudice, hatred money, and RUclips. Again free yourself. And yes, he is speaking to himself as well. There is also the legend of the Agust D scar, what each character represents, 3 Suga egos, the movie ScarFace/Tony Montana, The Dark Knight and perhaps an Old Boy reference but that’s for the unabridged edition. I will leave you with a Dark Knight Joker quote as he burns a huge pile of money just like Agust D does here in Haegeum- “It’s not about the money, it’s about sending a message.” Message received Suga! I highly recommend his documentary Road to D-Day.
You should do a marathon. Agust D. give it to me. Daechwita then hageum then amygdala. He has some other amazing mv out for people part 2 and snooze. In Bts he is our little meow meow Suga ( from shooting guard in basketball). KPOP can stand for any popular music and BTS transcends any one genre
For me Kpop is not a genre but rather it is pop/music from South Korea. He is AgustD/Suga/Min Yoongi from BTS. He is a Rapper along with RM/Kim Namjoon (before Rap Monster) and Jhope/Jung Hoseok. In addition, the group has 4 vocalists: Park Jimin/Jimin, Kim Taehuyng/V, Jeon Jungkook/Jungkook, Kim Seokjin/Jin. They are all really talented and they have more than 300 group, subgroup and individual songs and they cover a wide variety of genres, they have music for all tastes. Greetings.😊
I just checked back to my older comment, you guys watched Haegeum after seeing one of my previous comment telling you about the song. I know that cause you replied to me, and then replied again after you recorded the reaction, telling me you really liked it. So you guys definitely knew Agust D was Suga from BTS, you also definitely knew the meaning of the word Haegeum prior to recording cause I told you. It was a bit obvious in your reaction that you already knew the meaning of the word. So I don't know why you felt the need to pretend to not know all that info during your reaction. Like, it's okay to already know information beforehand, just be honest about it. I don't like watching reactors who fake their reactions in any way, so unfortunately I won't be returning to your channel. Also, I had advised you guys to focus your attention on just a few groups instead of doing so many, you really haven't built up enough of a rapport with Army yet for their Patreon support. Army is the most generous with their support for genuine reactors - for your Patreon to be successful with Army, you have to show enough sincerity and genuine interest outside of a monetary gain. I think it was way too soon to be starting a Patreon, there's nothing Army dislikes more than reactors who are in it more for the money. Anyway, my comment might read a bit harshly, but I'm not angry or anything. This is not meant to be a hate comment, just expressing some feedback for you. Please keep in mind that it's important for reactors to be honest, genuine, and have real interest. It's okay if BTS doesn't interest you all that much, I would choose things that truly interest you, that way those fans will feel it is worthy to support you on Patreon. Good luck with the channel
So, k-pop is not a genre, it's an industry, so any kind of rhythm can fall under it as long as its part of the industry.
Oh ok got it 👍
Thanks 😊

Thanks glad you enjoyed it 👍
Agust d is Suga from BTS, it’s the name of his alter ego. Under the name of Agust d he talks about things, he wouldn’t talk about in BTS’s songs. Both of the characters were played by him(Suga).
Ok got it thanks 😊
Actually I wouldn’t say that he doesn’t talk in BTS these topic because he does talk about them in his songs they are just more toned down and sometimes more censored. For example BTS songs (and his verses): Blue and Grey, Tomorrow, Ugh, Paradise, Airplane pt. 2 and Life Goes On
@@amberpearce710 Hello Amber! 💜
Thanks for all the detailed information 😊
Someone pointed out to me that the red chopsticks have a duality - like the haeguem instrument has 2 strings, the chopstick had 2 roles. In the beginning, they took life, in the end, they sustained life (fed him.)
WOW I had no idea there was so much meaning to this song. Thanks for the explanation 😊
I like this. Thank you, ARMY!! 💜💜💜

You’re welcome 😊
Yassss, that is why there are scenes where the chopsticks were given emphasis...
The word"Haegeum" has a double meaning. On one side, it’s a traditional Korean string instrument that he uses for the track but it also means "“allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden” or lifting a prohibition
That’s so cool! He is so creative
At this moment he is doing a solo worldtour... He is in LA now. Fans camping out in tents...

That’s pretty impressive
Such an amazing artist
There’s always several layers to BTSs music. In this one, we’re talking about liberation and corruption. The guy in the suit is a corrupt police detective, and the rebel stole from him. That’s the surface layer to this video. We can go deeper, but since you’re new to their music, let’s leave it at that for now. Their music is up to interpretation and that’s one reason why they’re unique and has so many fans, because their music means something and is very thought provoking. Not just your average band with catchy beats, meaningless lyrics and flashy videos
I love their style
5:03 you keep bringing up mafia and I find it funny cuz Suga/Agust D has a song called "Tony Montana" cuz he loved that mafia movie hahahaha
Love that stuff
Think of 'Kpop' as 'Hollywood'. It encompasses all genres. 🙂
Got it thanks 😊
Great reaction, you guys were so quick onto what was happening in the mv (did you realise that Agust D was playing both characters?) Please check out the 2 title tracks of his first 2 mix-tapes (they both have mvs) 'Agust D' by Agust D. and 'Daechwita'. Both are FIRE songs, you will enjoy them.
Yeah we caught onto it in the video. August D by August D will be coming out in a week or two.
agust d is one of my favorite rappers, from my opinion these songs are the surface of all his art, most of his songs are so intense and sentimental, they should react to more
particularly to shadow (mv and extended version), dear my friend, the last, song request, amygdala, so far away, snooze, etc.
He has released 2 mixtapes - this is his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control)
Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D".
Suga/AgustD was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) -
Yoongi wrote, produced, composed the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control.... he is a true genius.
This is the middle song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as -
Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others
Haegeum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society
Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place.
That’s so cool

*Meanings for the titles*
*Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.)
*Haegeum* - has two meanings.

BTS has 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. All 3 rappers go hard....but then BTS can go hard too. BTS probably has 8-10 genre's. There's something for EVERYBODY 😊
Loving their music
Yes, several people have mentioned this to us as well. Thanks for your input 👍

K-pop is not really a musical genre. Suga / august d once explained it in an interview
K-pop is the integration of music vocals rap dancing choreography makeup clothing to form a total experience. Most K-pop groups include singers rappers and dancers and all members perform most roles to some extant… the prevalent musical genres are r&b, pop, hip hop…
In BTS there are 3 rappers, 4 vocalists and while all dance there are 4 who are the dance line…
BTS themselves cross hip hop pop ballad Latin pop r&b etc often in the same track… all members also perform solos inside and outside the group…

Thanks for your reply and explanation. 👍💜👍💜
This song title is genius!! Haegum means 2 different things:
- a 2 string korean instrument (that you can hear at the beginning of the song)
- allowing / unlocking something that's forbidden
And I personally love the message of this song ♡
Since you're rock fans I'd suggest you to react to these TXT and ENHYPEN songs that have a rock sound in them:
1) TXT - 0X1 = lovesong
2) TXT - good boy gone bad
3) TXT - loser = lover
4) ENHYPEN - attention please
5) ENHYPEN - Shout out

It's a reference back to the Daechwita video when Agust D spins into the scene hanging out the car window...this is the second part of the Daechwita video. (In fact, Agust D hangs out of windows in several of his videos)
August D and BTS don't usually make references to western culture.

Aaahhh I see!
AGUST D is SUGA from BTS!!! HE HAS A NEW ALBUM!! Listen the album please😁
Will do thanks 😊
1st ever korean rapper that goes No.1 in US top Rapper first ever korean rapper in top song sales etc alot more records he did with his DDAY album release.
He’s amazing
So happy you are reacting to Agust D or Suga of BTS. Suga is now on his solo world tour now. He just finished his sold out concerts tour in U.S, which gross $20 million in U.S. he is the only Artist that has achieved this. BTS as group for their 4 nights sold out concerts in Vegas in 2021. They gross 60 million. Fun fact : Suga is the first and only rapper in the world . That sold 1.2 million copies of his album D-Day in one day. Congrats to Suga and BTS. 🥰💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥰
I love fun facts thanks for sharing 😊
Remember the guy on the phone during the attack in the opening scene? Everyone else being taken down, but he's left alone to call the boss and tell him what's happening.
That's the guy shoving him into the water barrel at the end; clearly Mr. Thief had gotten to him and flipped him at some point.
This is the second of three songs/videos meant as a trilogy - if you watch Daechwita, it's the first video in the sequence, from 6 years ago, and the storyline there is mirrored in Haegeum. (It's also AWESOME.)
We’ll definitely check out the trilogy to better understand the storylines.
Thank you for your reaction. I had good time.
Glad you enjoyed it
Such a great music video!
The guy in black is a corrupt police detective. The other one is taking from the corrupt cop.
Got it thanks 😊
There are songs by Agust D ill name them here. Agust D is his song off his mixtape and there is also daechwita amd Amygdala as well.
Thanks 😊
recommendation: dear my friend, snooze, moonlight, the last, so far away, life goes on, amygdala, honsool, strange, burn it, [first love, seesaw, shadow (individual songs of him in bts) ]
Thanks we’ll check them out
Daechwita reaction next? 👀
I believe the Agust D in black is actually supposed a corupt cop or detective. 😊
Got it thanks 😊
******August D/SUGA is one of the 3 Rappers in BTS. Similar for Him is "DAESCHITA"
Awesome thanks for the info 👍
The same chopsticks. We can use it for violence (the start of the MV) or for nourishment (the end of MV).
Lmao
Oh I don’t think I see that anyone explained his name. Agus=Suga backwards. TD=town Deagu (hometown)
So Suga in BTS (and when he produces) and AgustD when solo.
Awesome info thanks 😊
Agust D is suga of bts 💜
This is not about wanting to attract new people or anything but joker his favourite character and his favourite super hero is Batman too and his MV heageum is filled with references from his favourite movie named Scarface and the character name Tony Montana in that movie he also has a song name Tony Montana in his album named agustD every thing represents something in the MV like the chopsticks, fish tank, scar on the face of version of him in his mvs, and him killing them in the end too, the rooster and that joker seen too
Love how everything has so much meaning and connects together.
I'm sure that you know by now that Agust D is actually Suga from BTS. I'm glad that you enjoyed his solo work so much. They have BTS songs with similar depth, but Suga, under the name Agust D, tends to go harder and darker than he does when part of the group.
Yes I noticed he’s very dark when he’s away from the group. Loving it.
@@tatianalg ok thanks 😊
The stealing Agust D being in mafia, I have always seen him as undercover cop, faking to be in with the criminals - for busting a corrupted police detective. that's why he was dropped with a police car to the restaurant. He was now out of the undercover gig.
Oh I see. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Min Yoongi is such a talent. If you stay on this course, you should watch his new D-Day documentary down the road.
Thanks we’ll check it out soon
There’s so much going on in these videos we’ll probably have to watch them several times before we understand everything that’s happening.
Agust D is Suga of BTS. Also, you may want to watch Daechwita. There's a connection between this two. Then Amygdala. 💜
Yes we know this now.
That song is coming out tomorrow morning. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments below 👇
Also, another absolutely amazing artist to check out is Løren! He makes rock/alternative music, and he writes, composes, and produces it all by himself.
Awesome 👏
Thanks for the suggestion.
We’ll add it to our list.
@@TripTipsPodcast I'd recommend one of his newest songs, Panic, it's really really good. NEED is another really good song
@@kokitrees7394 ok perfect 👍 thanks 😊
So AgustD is Suga of BTS when he does solo projects. You obviously loved this so you will love Daechwita by him too, was made 2/3 years ago. It should be viewed before Haegeum and a third track called Amygdala comes third.
BTS rap is good, watch Mic Drop and Hiphop lover, or Joke by RM in a solo from BTS.
Thanks we’ll check them out
It's so cool to see how you guys caught onto the story so quickly and understood the meaning behind the lyrics as well!
Such a great MV
K-pop is an industry. The only difference is the language. American pop industry has many styles, same with other countries.
This is 2nd video of a trilogy. daechta the 1st video amyalada the 3rd
We will get on it
Thank you for reacting❤
You’re welcome glad you enjoyed it 😊💜😊💜
Both characters were played by suga of bts 💜
Love your reactions! I would really recommend checking out RM’s solo work as well. In particular Joke, and Do You. 💜
I'll check it out!💜💜💜
Kpop is not a genre but an industry. Kpop includes many genres including rap.
So I’ve heard from several other people now. Thanks for the clarification.
MY savage suga!!!
Its part of the trilogy.
Amygdala, Daechwita, Haegeum
And you can check out his album, D-Day
Can’t wait to see all of yhem
You gets what meaning of this Video nice reaction 👏👏👏
Thanks 😊
Thanks for your reaction 😊💜
You’re welcome 😊
Obviously, there are way more Korean references, tons of them, you would not just not get them till explained by Koreans which are also hidden in their lyricism. This video is also even a reference to his previous MV Daechwita which carries the same symbolism and tells a story of his life.
This is what we are learning.
Please consider reacting to the songs 0x1=Lovesong ft. Seori and Loser=Lover, both are by TXT, they're a really amazing kpop group and they have some rock/alt influence.
Definitely 👍
We’ll check them out.
Thanks
yeah he is suga from bts now you can see how they are better than other kpop 😊
You seen Animal Farm by Bibi? Also has some shock-violence but more of a mellow tune and was inspired by Kill Bill
And her mv for Vengeance has a similar kind of feel for the back story you might enjoy
Never heard of it
What’s it about?
@@TripTipsPodcastAnimal Farm is a criticism on hypocrisy of upper class, and Vengence is a mob-wife vengeance kinda story.
Jotto is incredible too, but that might be a bit too extreme for some audiences (about a battered woman finally snapping)
@@missymae8333 we’ll look into it
This one actually is one that follows Agust-D's song Daechwita (very similar MV vibe...super dramatic) and the other in this "trilogy" is Amygdala (this one is kind of a prequel to the other 2)...all three are amazing.
That’s what we heard
“I could watch this stuff all day,..” and thus enters the BTS rabbit hole.
Same here 👍👍
I think the boss is a corrupt cop
Facts
Agust D or Suga or Min yoongi .. haegeum live concert is awesome. checkout daechwita song also.. 26 may I had a great time went to his concert tour D-Day in jakarta.
Nice 👍
We’ll check them out
09:00 since this was a month ago, I'll just comment this, since others have commented other points.
(This MV shows us what happens when you allow that.)
Perhaps we should also try not to be slaves to capitalism, prejudice, hatred money, and RUclips.
I will leave you with a Dark Knight Joker quote as he burns a huge pile of money just like Agust D does here in Haegeum-
“It’s not about the money, it’s about sending a message.”
Message received Suga! I highly recommend his documentary Road to D-Day.
Thanks for the detailed explanation and for watching our videos.
THE WAS I WAS SCREAMING "THAT'S MF BTS" THE WHOLE TIME UGH
👍👍
You should do a marathon. Agust D. give it to me. Daechwita then hageum then amygdala. He has some other amazing mv out for people part 2 and snooze. In Bts he is our little meow meow Suga ( from shooting guard in basketball). KPOP can stand for any popular music and BTS transcends any one genre
We will dive into august d more
I like your genuine amazement on agust d(a.k.a. Suga of BTS). Please check out his other mv Daechwita. Thanks
Will do!
agus d is bts suga and my bias he's seriously amazing and he's so talented i love him so much ❤❤❤❤
I’m really impressed by sugas lyrics
@@TripTipsPodcast yes, suga is a perfect person and very talented he is a genius producer i love him so much i am a turkish army 😄
Greetings.😊
Thanks for your thoughts
You have no idea lol lol
Welome to the rabbit hole 😅😅😆😅
👍👍
more bts reaction please💜💜💜💜💜💜
👍👍
Thanks for your comments and feedback.
We appreciate it 👍
