Here's a cool volleyball fact!
The quick attack (the attack Hinata does where he jumps early before the setter has set the ball) actually had its first debut on the Japanese Olympic Volleyball Team in 1968. That year, they won Silver. Still, a good number of players and coaches thought the quick attack was a gimmick or fluke and didn't pay any attention to it. Four years later, in 1972, Japan used the quick attack in the Olympics again. This time, they took Gold. Within the next 4 years, every team in the world began adding the quick attack to their offensive arsenal. It's little details like this that make volleyball (and other sports) so exciting!

To be fair the quick attack isn’t something realistically impossible once you know how it works. Something i actually don’t know is humanly possible or not is a set we saw in the current arc of the manga

Indeed, a quick attack (referred to as just a "quick" in the standard jargon) is something that is possible (and regularly used) in high level play. To be fair, the anime makes the attack incredibly dramatic by having Hinata close his eyes and whatnot. In actual volleyball, quicks are often done with the tallest players (not a shorty like Hinata) to making aim and timing easier (as well as numerous other reasons).

As a casual watcher of the anime myself, I'm not sure if you're talking about a specific set in the show up to Season 3 or perhaps past it in the manga. This being said, I haven't seen something wouldn't be "physically" possible yet up to Season 3. However, it's definitely questionable about whether some of the things they do are "humanly" possible. For example, synchronizing with a blind hitter is certainly physically possible, but it's questionable whether a human could do it every time or even at all. It's also questionable whether some of the things the players do are legal. The backspin set that Kageyama learns in Season 2 is definitely one of them. While the official rules say that setters cannot have prolonged or double contact with the ball and it is certainly possible to generate spin while not having a prolonged contact, referees will often used ball spin as an indicator that an illegal contact was made by the setter. In practice (and depending on the referee), the spinning sets that Kageyama uses will likely result in illegal contact.
I'm really glad you guys love Tanaka so much. Though he isn't an unpopular character, he isn't really a popular character either (talking from my own experience in the fandom) so I'm glad you're giving him the love and appreciation he deserves

Haikyuu was my first sports anime and I got hooked bad. Glad to see y'all liking all the characters. They really are all very likable! Love the reactions!
The new Setter guy is one of the most interesting and introspective characters in the show.. I think they intentionally set him up to be a enemy but he is just a person with dreams and aspirations with a decent personality like almost every person who gets screen time in the show lol.. They really flesh out people well in this series

Heh definitely! Tendou is someone you have to warm up to~ out of the anime only characters, Tendou was definitely the first to bother me (besides Tsukki at the VERY beginning). And MANGA SPOILERS BELOW ⬇️

It's great you liked Tanaka, but now that I've watched Tokyo Revengers it's just become funny to me that Tanaka and Mikey have the same voice actor considering how different they are. I know there are many like this but it's just really funny.
