How To Get Wider Lats | Back Width Workout
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 окт 2019
- Looking for wider lats? The variations I do for back width might be just what you're looking for. If you feel like you have a hard time connecting with your lats exclusively then these three tweaks on popular exercises will definitely do the trick.
Let me just pull out two main points from the video to highlight. This first thing I want you to try is to keep your elbow in a fixed position and let your lat do all the work. By doing pulling movements in an arch motion you're going to limit how much other supporting muscles get involved.
The second thing is to perform each exercise in a range of motion that feels best to YOU. Even if you end up doing a very limited partial rep, the only thing that matters is that you connect with the muscle.
I'm excited to see what you thought of them in the comments below!
"If you get big enough, nobody's gonna say sh*t to you" 😂 i just loved that part
I like this channel, I always like to learn new things and these are things that I never knew, it puts a new variety in my workout and I really feel these exercises thank you for the different workouts
Haha, So True 😂
Yo I fucking love this guy dude's hilarious lmaooo
Sometimes insecure fucks still get smart but it's a compliment
Yeah
No bs straight talk, less about him and all about the exercise about time we had someone less ego oriented, has my subscription thanks.
Lol for real didn’t even have to fast forward
Love this guy
Facts! Love his advice. Makes it short and simple doesnt have to give a whole back story and like a 10 second set.
I'm amazed he's putting so much stuff out free without intentionally padding it for ad revenue. No info on a site to subscribe to. It's shocking.
Dude you needa learn how to use a comma, this was so hard to read.
I like your explanation
Goal: wider lats
Muscle engaged: lats-this is how they move so we want to cater to that
Exercises: here are the exercises
Quick, to the point. I pray more people come to your channel. Subscribed.
I wish i have wrote that)
I think you speak for EVERYBODY my good sir and for that, we thank you
Speak for all of us 🎯🎯🎯
God bless 🙏
i wish all youtube videos were like this
He is so better than the others “less talking more work” Good luck Sir
Ikr. He is so underrated
The only fitness youtube worth subscribing.
I tried this for a month and started to develope the movement clean and it really played off 3 months later my back width is so much better now I'm so grateful for this incredible video.
Still on it ?
Same with me! I saw a video of him doing some crazy biceps excersize. And in just 1 month my biceps grew twice the size they were!
Before and after pics?
Which ones of the three movments do you suggest?
Tbh i want big latts so bad ill do 12 sets of em on back day 😅
I’m confused how you don’t have more subscribers, great content !!
I’m working on it!
@@RyanHumiston just subscribed
Good shit bro ... You got my sub deff
Learn something every video. Got my sub💪
And another one
If you want a new school take on old school bodybuilding with no BS and no ego, Ryan's the man.
From someone who can row and pull decent weight but can't feel the lats, your funny low cable row was incredible!
I'm 48 I've been lifting since I was 14. The last two weeks have been the best workouts of my life. That's how long it's been since I've found this channel.
Yea this guy is cool
Notice how he doesn't take his shirt off or flex his biceps every time he's talking..This is a real trainer
no correlation but ok. The quality lies in the information not wether he has a damn shirt on or wether he chooses to flex.
@@johnwig285 I know...but I prefer to actually just watch for info and advice, not to watch some douche flexing the entire time. Each to their own though
Agreed, not that I'd mind some shirtlessness...
@@jjsmith7726 😂
Sorry, thirsty
Really digging your content, its refreshing to watch a video that gets to the point without a bunch of fluff.
I tried most of your new short workout tips and they've all been working for me, thank you so much and keep it coming
This guy is awesome. He talks TO you NOT at you. Gets right to the exercise without a lot of hot air or ego!
This guy is brilliant. Totally changed the way I do several of my workouts now. I always thought engaging secondary and tertiary muscle groups was just something you couldn't avoid when doing certain exercises but by switching things up a bit like this guy advised I'm able to primarily engage my primary muscle groups. Now, I can actually have a shoulders day after back day because I didn't bang them up so hard previously. Amazing.
What part of your back day bangs your shoulders up?
nvmffs real delts are more of a pulling muscle than they are pushing, so back exercise tends to activate your real delts
@@CleanQuantize That it does. But I can't imagine what kind of intense back workout can bang your rear delts that much. The rear delts are a lagging muscle in most people for a reason. Besides, they're the smallest head of the deltoid. Even if you did hit them hard on your back day, it's all good. That means they don't need any more training so you can just focus on the medial and anterior heads.
@@nvmffs I do facepulls on back days and shoulders the next and my rear delts are just banged to where sometimes I can't even do shoulders
nvmffs i totally agree. Any back exercise you do shouldn’t bang your real delts up at all, but it does use them more then pushing movements would, so it makes sense to hit them on back day imo. I use a push/pull/legs split though. It would make more sense to do them on shoulder day if you don’t do push/pull/legs
Love your work outs. You know your stuff for sure!! Best out there to watch.
I love your videos man they get to the point quick and not dragging
I really appreciate the no nonsense approach and the "you can do this" message in your videos. I agree with another commenter who said he doesn't understand why you don't have more subscribers.
Thank you for the none-fluff. These videos are godsend. Seriously. I don’t think anybody in this space does it like you do.
Just subscribed, no nonsense long videos, short and sweet to the point. Very informative. Thanks from the uk.
The sync between the music and the speed of the movements is almost perfect. And the instructions are just great as always.
I subbed here thinking it'd be like a lot of my other fitness subs; mostly BS and I'd watch an upload here or there.......no. I find myself scrolling months back to catch what I've missed. This is fantastic advice and information. Thanks, man.
Hi ryan this is the first time I write a comment. I'm not a sportman, or a personal trainer or a bodybuilder. I saw already some videos of yours and I make you many compliments for what you do in your channel. Helping the people to back in an excellent shape is a very good thing. For that I really appreciate you my friend and I think I will continue following your amazing channel. Your videos also help me bro because they push me to face and to fight bad things of life. So thank you very much ryan. Much respect for you buddy.😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I just started watching your channel and absolutely love the tips, awareness of time ( shorter videos ) and all the information that is attached. Definitely subscribed and will be telling others. Keep up the great work.
Always love your videos. Thanks for all the tips
It's important to have people like you who doesn't stick to the script by only relying on being book smart.
The fact that you looked at people with a bad form and got something useful out of it is a plus.
Excited to try this, this makes sense. I have really long arms and often feel my arms working a lot, this looks like it'll really hit the lats well Thanks!
After i ve been trough a lot of bodybuilding channels i have to say that you are the best. No bs, straight talk. Thanks!
Awesome videos. You cut right to what we came for and no wasted time in the videos trying to make them longer. Thats why I subbed
OMG! I have never felt my lats engaged as much as this forms. These are a keeper and hooked with them. Awesome and unusual content. Keep it up.
This guy really is the real deal holy shit
My man👍
I've been working out consistently for over 25 years and thought I'd tried it all. Gave those first two exercises a shot(with light weight), but did the pull overs on a machine, and I can honestly say haven't felt my lats this engaged in several years. Appreciate ya, just got yourself a new subscriber.💪
Yes, as soon i saw the pullover i thought nautilus pullover machine, did you use the partial movement?
Thanks big R, loving your videos from the UK. Keep up the great work mate 💪🏻
The best and the most original lat training advice period.
Crap my back day was a day ago...now seeing this...but it's so true..I used to do a closer grip but then tried a wide grip one last time and yep I could feel the difference...excited to try your version and see how that goes. .
Whoa that's some fresh content, really I should have known earlier about you
This guy's channel is straight fire.....to the point, no extra convo, and great content
I have been doing this a long time. You know your stuff! Thanks I look forward to your videos.
Another change of direction for me training wise, I am 70 years old and learning every week, good info.
I love your approaches to stuff. Totally different my man. I'm going to reprogram my routines and take a lot from you. I was big 2 years ago with monster numbers on most things but I got sick and was out of the gym for a whole year. Just recently started going back seriously and starting to feel good again. Thank you for your content. I'll let you know how it works.
Me too Todd, great video for rehabilitation, good form lighter weights to start and build up, good luck man with yours too.
Ryan, this is uperb for myself coming bac from an Operation, thanks for this to get me back in the Gym and give me Good Form. , consistent training.
One year update. His ideology on working out really made everything better for me.
This guy deserves more subs, funny as hell and straight forward talk.
Ryan is the best definitely seeing results using your methods, keep it coming brother!!!
So different from what we are taught but makes so much sense. Will definitely try it, thanks.
Stumbled across this channel and am liking the content, real, down-to-earth and for the 'common folks' be good to get a vid on nutrition for dummies as well
Too common to spell common :P
;ddd
I love that he's bringing up some quality exercise technique that makes sense and isn't so cookie-cutter like everyone else that you see. Thanks a lot for your content, Ryan. Definitely seeing great improvement so far.
This took me 2 years of trial and error to discover. Awesome content
Why do I always find myself laughing out loud when I do one of his exercises? I think it’s because I am realising how effective his exercises are and how poorly and ineffective I have been training for so many years. I’m super happy to have found this guy and slightly embarrassed.
First video of yours I have watched, can I just say how refreshing it is to have well presented and informative video that is right to the point with non of the other bs
Every time I try these tweek in forms they work bang on every time. Best videos by far on YT.
Gotta love the... "If you're big enough, nobody's gonna say SHIT." SO true in all aspects of life ha!😁🤜
Ive never been able to engage or feel my lats work. This is the first I've seen something that appears it may actually work.
Blaine 0001 yep, one of the biggest misconceptions in the fitness industry... if you want to feel your lats, outstretch your arm, make a fist, and press downward into a table, the muscle you feel is the lat
Love your videos. Detailed and only gives you what works with no bullshit
Gawd. 3 exercises in 5 minutes! Love it! As mentioned already, less blabbing and more technique. Perfect!!
Your on to something with partial range of motion at a time. I have been working out with perfect form and everything totally controlled for long time now. I am as strong as most guys your size but never could "look the part" I think this and alot of your techniques will take me to next level . Thank you for unique perspective on working out !
Let's grow together Sir, you on RUclips and me at Gym 😁
always straight to the point with great insight to the movements..
This is the best fitness channel on RUclips. No bullshit, just great tips. Much appreciated man.
Coming back to check the exercises? I'll help you out:
2:06 - T-bar Lat Pulldown
4:00 - T-bar Machine Row
4:56 - Pullover
If it's your first time, do yourself a favor and watch the whole thing for the important explanations 😉
Great advice. Although, aren’t all three exercises essentially the same movement? Do you recommend doing all of them in one day or cycle them for variety?
couchpuhtater different angles man. Variations are good
Great video Ryan, adding a band to the bar on the pullovers really makes them a killer. I really enjoy your ideas on training, thank you
Glad I found these videos , straight talking no BS!
4:02 this exercise felt absolutely amazing when I did it and because of it I actually love back day more than I already did and then my lats are sore for 2-3 days or more
2-3 days or *more* of pain/soreness so that your lats keep growing . . . all in the name of what? Vanity? Show-off time? It's so childish & everyone is so caught up in "looking" good - add some growth hormone or steroids & it sounds GREAT!
I'm shocked as to where you have been all this time.
The evolution of this guy's channel is nothing short of legendary
Dude. You put out the best exercise info. Straight to the point with demonstrations. I tried one workout with your tips and it was great. Going to add these tomorrow
This guy loves partial range of motion
Sometimes, as he has talked about in other videos, partial ROM has its place with alot of exercises. It's all about the TUT. Partial ROM also, for alot of people, would eliminate unwated secondary muscle involvment I'd say 🤔
@@vincentcoffey695 you have to learn it the right way though, full range of motion, light weight and good form. If someone has bad form you don't tell them to do partials, tell them to lower the weight and focus on improving form
@@Matthiasschweizer yes agreed. I think his videos are aimed at people who know about good form who are just wanting variants of exercises for muscle isolation
@@vincentcoffey695 but this what hate about the video, newbs will watch the video and start doing partials all the time. If you've trained over 2 years you can switch things up and try new things but I think beginners should focus on full range of motion
@@Matthiasschweizer I agree, beginners should focus on correct form above all else.
How do we develop a thicc upper back when viewed from the side like you in the thumbnail?
Love the to-the-point delivery. And you look absolutely amazing man. Subbed
Been trained for over 10 years and i learn so much from you! You ROCK!
Best thing is he’s not using a bunch of heavy heavy weight.
micah I do a hot cold routine, I might so one heavy movement but then I switch over and do a lighter more focused movement.
bbrock RailFan
I only train with calisthenics do you think this method works for calisthenics as well?
Just like Dorian Yates says. Wide grip is for the birds.
Simple, straight to the subject at hand and very Poignant! And absolutely no EGO! Kudos my friend!
I just discovered this channel and I already love it.It's right up m y alley.I've been toying around with different forms of half reps, partials, etc. These lat partial lat pulls look like just what I'm looking for.
im lucky i have genetically huge lats, and i mean big and well shaped
BRO! This is exactly what I needed! Lats on fire! Thanks! Great channel...keep it going
Just tried out those exercises and yeah....FANTASTIC! Thanks a mill Ryan. Keep these great informative vids coming.
Such an easily consumable style of video. It’s direct and informational. Doesn’t bog down the pace with jibberish. Thank you for sharing.🙏
Nice video mate, i appreciate the no BS approach. Much better than some other tubers.
I've no idea why I've only just discovered your videos, but they're excellent. I was been trying a few of your exercises and I'm getting sore in muscles that haven't been this sore for years. Great work, very motivating!
Just discovered these vids and I love them! I tried that first exercise, the cable "pullover" with close grip handle, MAN that was the best engagement I have gotten in my lats!! Thanks for all the tips.,they have gotten me more focused on a slight plateau I have reached the last couple of week in the gym (same routine fatigue).
love your channel and training instruction, especially on doing exercises the correct way with the proper form
Liking & saving all these. Love all new stuff
He kills me with his to the point, no bs talk! Its great, I love it!
Love the straight to the point style. Will definitely watch all your videos. Keep doing your thing. You will be a youtube celeb in no time.
Excellent, I understand & enjoy your instructions very much. Knowledgeable, confident & humble at the same time. Thank you.
Your technique in training is a game changer! I have watched all your videos and applied what you preach there, I felt pump I never felt before especially in my back muscles, it's insane. Keep the videos coming bro 💪🏻😎
No bullshit and straight to the point. Very underrated fitness RUclipsr

Brilliant can't wait to try, I've always used a wide grip, but whilst watching this and using my arms in the same plane as the demo I can feel more lat activation. Many thanks
Good thing i found this channel early :)
Thanks a lot man!
