Excellent video, I'm almost ready to buy my own. The only things that is slowing me down is the fact that the width of the outside piece where I can install the doorbell is not that large. I was wondering if you could tell me the real specifications of the doorbell itself ( web site says can fit almost anywhere ) and looking at the doorbell itself, it' looks like it's taper, being narrower a at the bottom. As shown in the video there is not that much space by your door neither. How large is this part ( 9:01 time) where you installed the doorbell. keep on the good work. Thanks
A good honest video. My only gripe with this doorbell is its absolute lack of security against someone stealing it, takes 1 pin and it is out. Furthermore unlike other vendors, Logitech doesn't provide free of cost replacement if the doorbell is stolen. So off I go looking to see if there will be a better homekit doorbell in future.
There’s no real way to prevent any doorbell from being stolen, however, because you are alerted when someone comes into the space and you can talk to them over the speaker, and will have video of them, if they steal it, it is unlikely that it would be stolen. I was worried about theft too but as it turns out, it is not a huge problem. I didn’t check but I’m not sure if any company would replace your doorbell if it was stolen, and certainly they’d only do it once, but I see your point as well. Good luck.
Excellent video and I’ll most likely be referencing it again once my doorbell gets here in a few days. Does it fill up your iCloud storage fast or what?
No, it doesn’t use that much space, especially if you only have it set for people walking up to the door. I suppose a whole home full of security cameras recording every movement, from animals to passing cars would take up more space. I set it to only record in zones on the porch
Very helpful video. I think I’m convinced that I can do it on my own. By the way, what temp you get in winter? Does it still work in harsh winter? I live in Saskatchewan where temp often goes to -40 C in winter. Any comment on whether it will work at all at that temperature? Thanks a lot.
I know you posted this 3 years ago. I am currently trying to follow your video - but I have hit a problem at a point where you may went through very fast - so I assume you did not have the difficulty I am having. In my case when I plug the USB cable to the Doorbell the green light comes on immediately, but it never stops flashing. The flashing seems to slow down after a couple of minutes - but never stops. I did try proceeding - but the Home Kit link doesn’t complete the link. I am guessing that the flashing light is telling me the doorbell is not ready to hookup. Any thoughts as to what I may try?
Any advice? I just hooked this up and my wife cannot view history, only live happenings. I shared her to my icloud family plan, logged out and back in and restarted all devices. She still can't view history, is this normal? Or should she be able to view history?
I’m not sure of the question. You base the wiring on the letter diagram of where the wires are attached on the chime and the corresponding number on the box.
You need to either have an Apple TV or a HomePod set as your Hub and sign into the same account on your Apple TV as you have for the home app on your iphone. Then hold down the TV icon button on your Siri Remote and the Control Center will pop up. Scroll down to see the feed from the camera
Good video helped me with the installation.
Excellent video, very detailed setup. Thanks for sharing. 👍
6:35 the reason that didn’t work is because the NFC antenna is at the top part of the phone. Lol! But great video. Can’t wait for mine to arrive!

it’s just music from Adobe Premier Rush. but I liked it too.
Thank you! Very helpful.

What was the service you used to get it in Canada? Any issues with the cold?
I used wantboard. And no issue working in the cold
Www.wantboard.ca
Oh and no issues with the weather
How do you attach the existing wires to the back plate of the doorbell? I just dont know how to do it ?
There are two little slots on the back of the wall plate to insert the wires into

She may not have Stream and Allow Recording set in the recording options on her phone

How do find out what color goes with what for the chime?

Do you still recommend this doorbell? Do you have problems with overheating?
no issues at all
WHY cant we buy this in Europe?
Maybe different voltage... Good question...
@@nevillewhite3451 no, checked that 😞
