Paul McCartney + Wings Venus and Mars Half Speed Vinyl Do we need it? Let me know your thoughts! 🟡🔴

- 2025 begins with a new 50th anniversary half speed release of the brilliant 1975 Wings Venus and Mars album. There is no doubt this is one of Wings best albums and will be welcomed by those who want to keep their collection complete, collect Half Speed vinyls and fans who want another one. Personally I'm not interested as it has nothing new and would be another item sitting on my shelf unopened, gathering dust. As I state in my video if the release contained unreleased music or a bonus album of Wings Live 'Venus and Mars' tracks, then I would have ordered it, as it is there is nothing here for me and I do not need to spend money on something I already have several times over. Perhaps it is a sweetener and taster of 'Wings' releases to come in 2025. I hope the next Wings release is something the majority of us fans want. I mention Record Store Day in the video, which is totally unintentional. Thanks for watching, subscribing and watching. I welcome all comments as we all have our individual opinions and thoughts.

Hi Dino. Yes, I’ve been purchasing McCartney albums for 50 odd years but I stopped buying McCartney on vinyl in 1984 with Give my regards to Broad Street. I never purchased all of his singles albums I did buy Egypt station and was the first album I purchase again on vinyl by McCartney on colour vinyl and black vinyl. I started buying again on vinyl by the Beatles et cetera in 2013 with the original Beatles albums and the 2014 mono box set
I have all Paul McCartney archive deluxe sets and the double CDs archive. I even have all the coloured vinyl releases of the albums (except all the coloured Egypt stations and McCartney 3 albums.)Like you, I have a half speed remasters and I will be by the Venus and Mars half speed. I won’t be buying Ringos album although I haven’t seen him since 1998 in concert. I agree with you back to the egg and London town should get the archive arrangement. I know they must’ve remastered them in 2016 as on Paul McCartney‘s Pure deluxe CD set As it has tracks from these two albums on it. So I hope that one day he will release them. This year I can see Paul McCartney releasing a new album too. Along with Beatle related stuff which is costing me a fortune. Lol. Just before I go over the years I have purchased Venus and Mars nine times on CD or vinyl. So the half speed would be my 10th.😂 ciao for now Trevori 😂

Totally agree I been collecting Beatles / solo since 1968 however I too have drawn a line at half speed releases in not collecting - I would appreciate London Town , Back to the Egg , Press to play Archive Box sets + Fireman Box set but I am given to understand there has been a number of legal issues that have delayed any release of these Archive editions .

I do like the half speed masters, which I also collect by other bands and artists, so I quite welcome the release of Venus and Mars. Personally I feel that the Archive collection maybe dead in the water, I do hope I'm wrong, but the passage of time tells me that we may have seen the last of them. I'm not a fan that is a die hard collector or completist, buying everything. But I am holding out for a Rubber Soul Box set, even though that has not been mentioned anywhere officially. I wouldn't call this upcoming release a cash grab. It's there and if you want to buy it fine, but you also have the choice not to, and that's fine too. Don't get me wrong Dino I'd love to see both London Town and "Egg" get the archive treatment and I would probably buy them, but at the moment I'm not holding my breath, as I believe the next release from the McCartney camp will probably be Paul's new album.

of course we want it. We want the Archives as well but we'll take these as well. I expect there was no Venus & Mars live tracks included as bonus because the HSM of Wings Over America will be out next year or possible early 2027. Some West Ham fans are watching !

It doesn't matter if we want it, what's important is that's it's available!

Hi Dino unlike you i am a Yorkshire man ! but i do agree about Ringo and him not playing Uk. The Austrailian concert from the Venus and Mars tour should have been the release
@davidjackson5449 Thanks for watching and commenting and please accept my apologies for a dreadful Yorkshire accent... 🤣 You may be aware there was an unofficial Wings Australian concert 2 cd released in UK shops last year and it seems unofficial releases are what fans find more interesting, especially to get live tracks not officially released. 🙂🔴👐
I don't buy half speed either, i'm like you just want the archives finished it should have been done and finished by now, then i think people wouldn't mind the half speeds, (though not for me) but i think andrew at parlogram auctions said half speed only works for vinyl not cd.

Not Needed. How many times have we had a re-release of Venus and Mars.......unless there is added content . The archive set 2 LP was the best re-release....I don't need another copy of the same material. Get The London Town and Back to the Eggs archive sets out !!!
