I'll have to get my wife to watch this video. She keeps nagging me to catalogue my collection, saying if anything happened to me she would just take them to the local charity shop! With this wonderful video, you have just saved me a daunting task hopefully. Thank You Andrew.
She asked you to catalogue your collection because she knows that there's some value in there. Otherwise she would just bring everything to charity and let them sort it out...
To do that myself would be daunting.....My wife and I were surprised when we went through the process of setting up a trust with our will etc when we found out that neither of the kids (in their 30's) had much interest in the contents of my "museum" which I have been building since the 60's. Most of the museum is Beatles stuff. As they got more expensive and slower I added to building a collection of Linda Ronstadt on the side. It was cheaper and more fun! That collection includes signed stuff and I wish my Beatles collection was as complete!...anyway the kids don't really care about any of it. My son only wants my guitars. My daughter only wants the 2 butcher covers (one mono and one stereo!). They do know who to go to to at least sell the stuff for good prices.
I have a mono Gold & black label, Dick James credit Please Please Me with correct stampers but it also stamped 1 at 9oclock and just G at 3oclock. On both sides. I believe this means that it is one of the first 300 Beatles albums ever manufactured and could be the first! Love the historical aspect of this. Also sounds amazing!
We are downsizing so, I have just gifted and shared out my beloved Beatles vinyl ; To my son ; To my friend's wonderful daughter and a few others; To charity. I feel that this is the best Valuation I have ever made.
My mom dated a guy whose father owned and ran a record store. She still has her 1st State Stereo vinyl. It's probably VG, but it plays fine for how it looks. It's actually my mother's favorite Beatles "album". The guy that gave it to her died young in a motorcycle wreck. So it's special in many ways. The record is a true 1st state copy.
One point I picked out is that the whole Beatles catalogue is now not available new on vinyl at least in the original mixes (2012). From LIB to Revolver they have been replaced by the Giles Martin remixes. Used vinyl in future will be the only way to get the true Beatles sound unless Apple have a change of heart. You are correct in saying they are aiming at young buyers rather than the core older fans who are wealthier and would buy up any new mono pressings.
Thank you for another informative video, Andrew. I completely agree with you: Apple really needs to put out a new Mono box set, or at least, make them available as individual albums.
What they should have done in 2009 on CD (and could do today on vinyl) is release the stereo and mono mixes together for every album, along with each album's outtakes. The Zombies did this for Odessey and Oracle and it seems like a clear blueprint for a Beatles reissue plan.
@@matthewsnyder6127 I'd add the concurrent 45s as well. The albums were so short, they could have easily fit everything on a cd.I know because that's how I've made my listening cds.
Thank you, Andrew! I’m a novel in collecting Beatles, but thanks to your help i’m building my own collection in a serious and worth and adequate way. Many many thanks, Andrew!
Andrew, great information for anyone collecting, selling or interested in Beatles/solo recordings. Having been a "collector" since the '70s (my collection now numbers almost 4600 LPs, 45s & CDs), I can tell you that the Internet is both a blessing and a curse. Its a blessing in that the amount of information available is almost limitless and your access to pressings is almost the same. However, it is a curse in that the information/access can be confusing, misleading and even down right deceitful. The scammers and thieves abound, and your watchwords about being "too good to be true" are profound. Also, everyone and their grandmother who happens to have a trashed copy of "insert title here" thinks they are sitting on retirement money and price them accordingly. So in short, whether collecting, selling or just an interested bystander, do your homework, prepare yourself for some disappointment and heed brother Andrews' words of wisedom (if it's too good to be true, it probably is), but also enjoy the ride, it is fun, enjoyable and a great community to be a part of. Made all the better by Andrew and a select few others out there! Great content Andrew, happy collecting everyone!
On Ebay I found the revolver withdraw mix in one of the bid that I won for just 17.00 euros...in very good condition! didnt know about it because there was only one picture of the front cover and stop so I was just amazed when the b side matrix was -1
The 2014 mono releases are still worth it. I wait for something to pop up in the 50-70 dollar range and jump on it. I only have three left before I’ve got the whole lineup. Buying them one at a time they don’t feel like such a massive amount of money.
Hi Andrew. Great video as usual. Having owned both the BM10 and the BC13 box sets since the early 80s and most others from the mid to late 70s, I have a pretty vast collection. Once CDs became the popular media of choice in the late 80s, I mostly stopped buying Beatles vinyl with a few exceptions (ie Anthology series I bought on vinyl and immediately put into storage unopened). Shame on me! At that time I put my turntable away and all my vinyl, Beatles mostly but lots of other non-Beatles as well. Fortunately I had the foresight to put them all in plastic outer sleeves to protect them early on. Whenever I moved to a new location over a year ago, I of course brought them with me, untouched since probably 1990 and still in immaculate condition. Bought a new high end TT and have been enjoying them immensely ever since. I have added around 50 LPs to it in the past 12 months as well (mostly Beatles, but not all).
I discovered The Beatles in 1974, in Peruvian editions from IEMPSA (EMI from Perú). The value of all my LP's is just sentimental. =) Thanls Andrew and regards.
Good advice here, it parallels what I've learned in many decades of collecting and dealing. I'm from an area that turned up a lot of US butcher covers over the years. I use to find them fairly regularly, about one a year. I was talking to a dealer who said so many of them have been peeled now that the numbers of nice clean unpeeled ones are dwindling and these will eventually rival the price of a peeled one.
Having been a Beatles fan since the 60s, I've often wondered what the term "rare Beatles album" meant. I bought them all as everybody else did back in the day, so there couldn't be anything rare about them, I figured. But years later, I would find mono releases in thrift stores that I did not own, such as the American Beatles VI, etc., all in mint condition. Apparently, somebody took better care of it than I did back in those days, having bought several copies after wearing out the original. I was guilty of buying the albums to enjoy them, and not collecting them. Great upload!
Another great video, thank you Andrew! The most important part of this video is the first 3 minutes. So many people see a Beatles record and immediately think £££, even if it's a bog standard issue of Revolver that's been used as an ashtray.
Andrew, I couldn't agree more with your statement about Apple refusing to let other companies license the tapes for further pressings! It would be so amazing if a company like Analogue Productions could put out some UHQR versions of the Beatles Mono records. I do have the 2014 mono box and I really wish I would've bought 3 or 4 of them back when they were available on Amazon! That said, I'd still be interested in purchasing a reissued Hazel Yarwood -5 cutting of Rubber Soul, as an example. We all know that there are many audiophile pressing companies out there that would love an opportunity to create top-notch pressings of the Beatles albums. C'mon Apple .. make it happen.
I had a peeled and second state butcher cover.. sold them to one friend!! Not really wanting one! But a few weeks ago I bought a second state copy at a yard sale!! Love of the music is tops! My friend Mike has 700 Beatles pieces! Thank goodness for this channel!! Andrew is tops! 😘
Another great video. I look forward to them every Sunday. I was 7 when the Beatles invaded America. My "most valuable" album (which I still have) is the 1964 mono release of the Second Album. I still get chills when the needle drops on "Roll Over Beethoven." Despite being almost 60 years old and covered with scratches, it still sounds amazing.
Value on anything is what someone is willing to pay for it, but I will say on ANYTHING, condition is everything. Get the Introducing The Beatles price guide by Bruce Spicer? I think it's his last name. Its awesome.
At 2:19, I wonder how many, Help!, Rubber Soul, and Revolver albums are from Capitol? I have the second edition of Collectors Items with Paperback Writer on it. But I am looking for a copy of the first edition with I'm Down on it. I have not found any more copies of either for decades. I have asked at various record stores. Some dealers never even heard of it. I think it is better than the US version of Rarities.
13:39 - Those warning captions about fake CD's & LP's (reminiscing of old horror movie titles) are just fantastic! Also, excellent, informative and helpful video.
Young beatles fan here crying out for mono pressings! Just starting my mono collection though the prices of decent copies can be quite daunting

Thanks for those great tips, Andrew! A few weeks ago I was able to buy an original UK first pressing of "Abbey Road" for less than US$50 (NM condition!) There I realized the differences between "internet" prices and "real life" prices. Thank you very much for your contribution!
I'm so sad that apple don't want to repress the mono boxset. I started collecting vinyl in early 2022 I started and listening to the beatles in the summer of 2023 so I did not get the chance to buy it. I'm 15 years old.
Thanks for the info on these fab albums! I find Seventies and Eighties Beatles repressings in stereo are a relatively economical way to collect the analogues.
Love your channel Andrew! I'm a new Beatles collector along with having been a collector of Elvis Presley for most of my life. I've learned a lot about the different pressings from your videos. I recently purchased some early 70's UK pressings off of ebay for some decent prices.
Good episode! I have no intention of selling my Beatles vinyl collection, but -- and don't take this the wrong way -- I could listen to you talk Beatles albums all day long. Throughout this episode I was thinking about my 1963 Capitol Canada album, Beatlemania. It was mono, in very nice shape, except for one small cover blemish. It wound up being lifted from my vinyl collection during a party (there were no Scousers in attendance so they're off the hook). If you ever come across a copy of Beatlemania where someone has drawn a handlebar moustache on John...
A friend has a Capitol We Can Work It Out / Day Tripper 45. The labels are normal. One side of the 45 (I forget which) plays the correct song. The other side was pressed with Nat King Cole's song Too Young.
Wish apple would give those 2014 Mono pressings another go. Was way younger (and not into the beatles at the time) and simply didnt know of its existence at the time. Now that im older and a little more wiser, i wish i would've gotten it. Would've loved to have it as a centerpiece to my collection. Great video
I cannot believe it's been almost 60 years since I bought my first Beatles record! Mine are all well played so they're not in mint condition. I do have a partially peeled butcher cover, which I'd prefer to sell to an individual collector. However, I can never figure out what the true value is. The prices on EBay are all over the place. I appreciate your tip about just checking the final selling prices. I have a copy of The Beach Boys' album, All Summer Long, with a Beatles label on one side. Don't know if this has any value or who would buy it. As always, thanks for your informative videos.
Over the last year I've become a Beatles Vinyl collector. My collection consists of mainly the US releases and original pressings or close to. I collect them because I like to listen to them and it's fun to own a record that is 60 years old or near to it. I'm not looking for the best pressing or the latest mixes. I just like having nice copies of the originals. I was born February of 81 so I've never lived in a world with all the Beatles but I'm a huge fan and enjoy owning a little bit of history. I like to put on a record and know that that would have been the copy I'd have owned in 1965 or 1968. And I own a full collection of the Capitol albums and never paid more than $30 for any of them
Such a pity the mono albums aren't available in CD or vinyl as this is how they were originally intended to be heard. I've no gripe with modern remixes, but feel the non-availability of the original product is akin to, say, having to watch "colourised" black and white films instead of the original. Great video!
Great video! I really need to go through my collection and try to match up with the Bruce Spizer books. I also find myself missing the old guides put out by Perry Cox. The prices are no longer anywhere close to today’s values but they’re still fun to look through. I guess for me, the closest thing I have to “rare” is a copy of “The Best of George Harrison” on Capitol’s orange label. If only I’d known it was rare when I bought it new… oh well.
Great video Andrew I have a decent collection but still have a few gaps. Good to know the value of what I have and what it might cost to get what I need. Happy holidays
Thanks for an informative video! I found it pretty interesting that in UK, many brick & mortar stores rarely stock any 70s-80s UK pressings of The Beatles. Either there are overpriced good condition OG pressings, or (slightly less) overpriced trashed OG pressings, or, if even those cannot be obtained, current reissues. There is a far better chance getting Beatles 70s UK pressings in the wild in Germany than in the UK, it seems.
Thank you, Andrew, as always. I have away most of my vinyl when’s CD versions were available, so there are a couple of great records I lost. I did want to comment on the “generational” element. First, as you know, many vastly underestimate The Beatles’ influence on a young crowd. On the other hand, that same “young crowd” (my children), don’t seem to care about medium. Music has, frankly, become a microwave experience (“I want to hear artist X and their (sic) new tune was quickly as possible. As for buying what folks are selling, I enjoy that. I’d rather pay, for example , $100 for a mono Revolver in good shape than wait for EMI to repent and issue a new (demixed and remixed?) box set.
I believe that the mono albums being included in the super deluxe box sets is what kills any chance of the 2009/2014 set to be reissued or at least put on streaming. Maybe new box sets will be made once the albums have all been remixed?
Excellent video! I completely agree with you. My brother and I have been collecting Beatles records since the 70's. We befriended Perry Cox decades ago and truly appreciate his knowledge and grading of vinyl. I received one record from you Andrew and it was exactly as you described. Thank you for that! Unfortunately the majority of sellers describe their records in the wrong condition (i.e. mint/mint minus) when in reality they're not. So buyer beware! I'm at a loss why Apple doesn't sell the mono versions in single versions. Sell them in colored vinyl like the Rolling Stones or the McCartney 3. I'd buy one more set. Mind you, I don't need it, I accidentally bought 2 mono sets in a miscommunication issue in 2014. There's only one more record I'd like to have and that's a -5/-5 Rubber Soul mono in excellent condition or better. Unfortunately, they're a bit pricey these days.😮 I look forward to your follow up videos on collecting/selling. One more request for a future video. A detailed video of the George Harrison White Album compressed vinyl that was removed from production and was remastered. How bad was it sonically?
I never had one. I was offered one, but turned it down due to the price. The irony is those that play it actually suggest it's a better mastering than what followed.😮
I check out how much my In Mono 2014 vinyl box set is worth on a regular basis, and it's around 1,200-1,400 € in mint, unplayed condition. That's the condition of my box set. I paid 300 € for it back in 2014 or 2015, shipping included, but I won't sell it. I just love it.
Im too busy trying to add to my collection again to get rid of anything,Andrew. My buddy in North NewJersey is ramping up again after I bought his collection 10 years ago.Every country and original.Multiple UK originals as well.I got so spoiled.I need the collection complete again after being forced to sell the 40 bin run I got from him then.Im getting there but have a long way to go.I have a huge lp and 45 inventory to start working on further on and will do some trading with him on Floyds,Zeppelins and other groups I get in the run that I can trade.
Hey Andrew, love your channel. I totally agree with you on it being a good time to just start a vinyl collection if you’re looking for regular condition records. I bought a turntable this fall and was able to get all of the Capitol records in decent shape for about $10 a record.
Hey, I thought i'd be one of the first to comment for a change! Good advice Andrew as always, one thing i often come across with buying on Ebay is grading, or lack of it. Someones VG+ or Ex is often someone elses Fair condition, so i will always ensure the seller accepts returns if the condition is way off. Not been burned too often thankfully! I also try and avoid sellers who think that everything is RARE and add is in every title or description like average condition -Twist and Shout EP's for example.
I have the Beatles In Mono CD box, and I also have some mono titles on vinyl from the 2014 pressings. I made sure to buy a vinyl copy of Mono Masters, because of my desire to hear some singles and b sides on vinyl. I would like to see The Beatles catalog available on vinyl in mono as well as stereo. My serious question here is will people sell their Beatles in Mono boxes after the series of remix box sets reissues all of the British titles. So far, each box set has included a CD or LP mono mix where applicable.
Thanks Andrew. So now that there is no Mono box set to buy (at even a remotely reasonable price) where would you recommend one to search for mono Beatles albums? I have already the first four albums in mono and I presume that mono Help and Rubber Sould will be included in their respective boxed sets in, hopefully, near future. But where should I look at to get a decent condition and decent priced Sgt Pepper, MMT and White Album?
A fascinating video, Andrew, of how to grade, value and sell records! I have a few UK vinyl copies of Beatles singles, EPs and albums but I'm not looking to sell any of them so for me it's Beatles Not For Sale!
I got burned on a fake German magical mystery tour, yellow colored vinyl spent $60 on it. Sounded horrible, but the shop let me return it! They didn’t realize it was a fake till I explained it to them
I have collected Beatles albums over the years just because I loved their covert art and liked to hang them in my music room. I quit collecting because I am out of wall space now! 🤣 Never played any of them, but was always fascinated by what they did for the music world and industry. Loved most of their songs! Interesting video!
Another great and informative video, thank you so much Andrew! I'm personally more than prepared to expand my Beatles vinyl album collection with mono versions soon. All the best from Finland and take care!
Glad you highlighted the difference between 100% analogue cuttings and those which are just mastered from digital. Any LP mastered in the UK since 1979 will have come from a digital source (a digital "cutting delay") - so I guess that would include those early 1980s box sets you mentioned.
For me, the twice a year record fair at Victoria in London is great, all my Beatles albums have come from there......their solo albums all seem to be under a tenner too !!!!
Great tutorial; thank you Andrew. I did find a handful of reliable and fair record dealers with eBay and Discogs where I can find Beatles records, soundtracks and soul music. Having friends with the same passion is also a very good source for advices to avoid bad purchases. Happy Holidays to you and everone out there. Until next time --- Martin
I have sold and bought a lot of albums online. I trust Amazon, ebay, and Parlogram auctions, but discogs is mixed. I have had shipments disappear, not shipped, or stuck in customs. This video was very informative. Thanks Andrew.😊
being a Beatles fan from 1962 (age 12) I commend you for another excellent video Andrew - now being 73 I have began to catalogue my collection and this really helped. BIggest surprise is the Beatles in mono set from 2014, I picked it up at the time for $240 which I thought was outrageaus ! I also bought the CD mono box in 2009 which I love especially the beautiful packaging. I would love to hear your opinion on which set is the best ? CD or LP considering sound and packaging
To my eternal regret I didn’t jump on the 2014 Mono box set I just bought Please Please Me and The White album individually. I would definitely love a mono box set. Come on Apple think of us fans that have been supporting the the Beatles for a long long time
Hi Andrew, my name is Anthony. This is so cool, I just got into collecting Beatles vinyl and I don’t want to sell mine I just don’t know anything and have a lot to learn. It’s exciting so thank you for contributing to the treasure quest.
about 40 years a bought a book, remember those? that listed the value of albums going back to 1920s 78s. other than some rare older records and original elvis and beatles albums a little known band called "the chocalate watchband" had the highest value of all other r&r albums. they only made 3 albums. (they're really an excellent band too, check them out.) i eventually had a collection of over 500 albums of every genre imaginable. this included a collection of over 50 beatles albums. including the "star club" recordings, the "decca" recordings, the "beatles box," a mono and stereo version of every beatles album (except "abbey road" and "let it be" which weren't sold in mono). i had the british and american version of every album. i had picture discs, colored discs and imports from about 10 different countries including japan, italy, canada, germany, uruguay, mexico and others. and i had every beatles compliation album released in the 70s and some from the 80s. because of conditions beyond my control in 2017 my parents sold my entire collection to a local used record store. (no other store would even come out to look at the collection.) they got around $2500 for the entire collection and thought they did a great job. but they refused to listen to me about the collection's true value. that collection was easily worth $5,000 or more. a half a lifetime of record collecting sold to the lowest bidder. THAT'S capitalism for you. my parents did their best. just wish i could've had some control over the process. oh well, c'est la vie.
@@Parlogram... kinda sux don't it? but ww2 was tragic. covid was tragic. what happened to me was just sad. (HA!) you win some. you lose some. but for me, i lose a lot more often than i win. as with so many others, maybe my life is a tragedy after all.
I have all three Canadian albums. Plus a Can't Buy Me Love single and a single that contains Thank You Girl. I bought them all in the spring of 1964. They will never be for sale. Not in the best condition, but that was because I did not know how to preserve them over the decades. But all are first pressings that I bought at the local record store. I don't think that I will get much for them. But to me they are priceless. Not secondhand.
Very interesting to see what albums are worth so much. You gave a different perspective on mint condition Beatles album being unloved which I also find surprising and sad. I feel fortunate to have some of the out of print things which I am grateful. I am also grateful for this channel…..thank you Andrew!
I've been occasionally searching ebay for original pressings of Introducing The Beatles and am amazed at the amount of counterfeit pressings with outrageous asking prices, some over $1,000. I hate to think if anyone is shelling out that kind of dough without realizing what they are getting. I managed to snag 2 copies of authentic 1964 copies for under $40 each in VG condition which is a bargain in my opinion. Individual research is a must to avoid getting taken. That said, I personally am happy that it is a buyers market as I have almost completed my original Capitol US pressings collection in stereo and mono. Just missing a mono MMT.
It still makes me happy to see the interest in the Beatles catalogue. While watching I felt like I did when I first made the decision to start collecting. I almost want to buy a BC 13 again. Nice episode and good information Andrew.
I found a red vinyl Sgt Peppers at a garage sale in 1999ish. I paid $1.50AUD and sold it for $30AUD - twenty times what i paid for it. I don't regret selling it, i needed the money.
If I own a record player then I might purchase a album or two also I don’t have a interest in records but my opinion might change But rn I have Beatles on cd so I trying to pick up the ep collection or the bread box
I started selling (mostly new) vinyl in 2002 and used Ebay, back then you just couldn't find new copies of any Beatles albums (other than Anthology and 1) because they weren't being pressed by EMI! So the second hand market was pretty buoyant and even average copies were going for decent money. I would imagine nowadays because new copies are easy to get hold of then collectors only want used copies in (at least) very good condition. Great video again Andrew 😀👍
Agree on being bewildered with Apple's decisions on the mono box set. Another example of that is no physical release of the Rooftop concert and them no longer making Dolby Atmos mixes part of the box sets. I got those FB / Instagram ads too by the way, reported them as scams but who knows if FB will do anything about it.
I was obssessed with Record Collector magazine as a teen, I didn't have any money but have still have the best virtual Queen collection on Earth. I still fantasise about coming across a gold label stereo Please Please Me in a charity shop going for a fiver.
Thank you so much for pointing out that the average Beatles album is not rare, because literally millions have been produced. I tried to tell this to some younger fans on Reddit yesterday and all I got was sass. “Old does not equal gold”
Interesting. Bought on release had every Australian album up to the white album. Sold all but the white album, Sgt Peppers (Mono) and A Hard Days Night (Mono) for AUD $5 each. Lots of Beatles 45's though thankfully. Thing is I can't find my White Album version on Discogs? It was pressed on white vinyl and VG+ as I rarely played it. Obviously I'm not selling them but glad I found your channel 😍
I have a couple of UK french contract pressings from early-mid 70's (Help! and White Album). Are those considered to be as good as the ones made and sold in UK?
Although I’m certainly not selling my Y&T stereo second state butcher in the original shrink (I found it at a flea market for $40 twenty years ago!), it’s nice to know how I can find out what they are selling for nowadays. Thanks Andrew!!
I loved this video. It made me think of how much value does my collection have. A little backstory: I'm from Chile and for my 16th birthday I recived the whole Beatles album catalog which happened to be the chilean versions of each individual albums (with some singles too, including an original 1967 chilean copy of the Magical Mystery Tour EP, in it's pure mono mix!). My only question, as I mentioned before, was the value of it. I don't know exactly if Discogs is the right place to search the exact value this records may have nowadays. If someone knows of a solution I would be so thankful. Glad to see that record collecting is now getting even more attention...!

Made all the better by Andrew and a select few others out there! Great content Andrew, happy collecting everyone!
Thank you, Richard!
On Ebay I found the revolver withdraw mix in one of the bid that I won for just 17.00 euros...in very good condition! didnt know about it because there was only one picture of the front cover and stop so I was just amazed when the b side matrix was -1
A very informative video that covers all the bases. The labels should concentrate on buyers of all ages and not just the young market.
I've got my BC13 with all but 2 still sealed :)
Thanks again Andrew!! I have had my Australian pressings since the mid 1970s - & wonder what they are worth.
A very good video. Have a Merry Christmas.
Thanks very much, you too!
I had a Sgt. Pepper's picture disc that I bought in KY in 1982 which was subsequently stolen. I always wondered what it might be worth today.
That 2014 Mono box is the stuff of legend now....at least I managed to pick up most of the individual titles at the time! Great video as always Andrew
That box is worth every penny out of the £500 I paid for it (in 2020, mind).
I bought the 2014 mono top loader white album in 2015 for $79.00. Total bargain price these days
@@Ad.Dd.James. Good price. I paid... 120€ for sealed 2014 WA and Revolver in 2019. Still got them sealed (as I have the box now).
Hi Andrew, another great informative video, thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Cleve! 😊
GREAT topic! Thanks for sharing this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's been a while since the last unboxing! Excited to see what's new.
It's going to be a long one!
Wow!!! Thank you so much for all the info!
Glad it was helpful!
Wow another informative video Handsome. I wasn't aware of the worth on some of these albums
Have you thought about doing a video on the uncut version of ANTHOLOGY?
Love your channel Andrew! I'm a new Beatles collector along with having been a collector of Elvis Presley for most of my life. I've learned a lot about the different pressings from your videos. I recently purchased some early 70's UK pressings off of ebay for some decent prices.
Congratulations! Hope you are enjoying them!
You are correct - some Beatles stereo recordings/re-recordings are ATROCIOUS. 😢
Im still finishing the Capiphone project, which is mono and stereo.
Always very helpful your video Andrew !
Well somewhere around here are two shiny earlier Beatles 45s on Canadian Capitol's 72000 series...
...but I'm keepin em lol 😉
A friend has a Capitol We Can Work It Out / Day Tripper 45. The labels are normal. One side of the 45 (I forget which) plays the correct song. The other side was pressed with Nat King Cole's song Too Young.
Wish apple would give those 2014 Mono pressings another go. Was way younger (and not into the beatles at the time) and simply didnt know of its existence at the time. Now that im older and a little more wiser, i wish i would've gotten it. Would've loved to have it as a centerpiece to my collection. Great video
Thanks for the information, Andrew. I'd love to have an official release of the complete Decca tapes. I hope Apple will finally do it.
I started collecting beatles over the last 2 years
Usually i by brand new ones from hmv
I got a few from 2nd hand record shops for cheaper
The mono albums are available as the 2009 "The Beatles in Mono" CD box set.
@@cjay2 yes, but I think it’s out of print now.
Hello Parlo gram another well informal video Love these videos I am building a nice Beatles UK LP collection.
Great episode as usual, Andrew!!! Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas! - Roger
Thank you, Roger and the same to you and yours!
Great video Andrew
I have a decent collection but still have a few gaps. Good to know the value of what I have and what it might cost to get what I need.
Happy holidays
Thanks Edward. Wishing you the same!
Unfortunately, they're a bit pricey these days.😮
I look forward to your follow up videos on collecting/selling.
One more request for a future video. A detailed video of the George Harrison White Album compressed vinyl that was removed from production and was remastered. How bad was it sonically?
If someone can send me one of those White Albums, I'll glady review it!
Manythnx and Happy holidays Andrew!🤘
Cheers Dave. Same to you! ✌️
Yeah, people really tend to over do it by falsely claiming their common as dirt record is super "RARE", L@@K!, etc. 😅
Others to avoid include: ‘Stunning’ and ‘Good condition for age’.
My pet hate is "condition acceptable". Acceptable by whom!? 😂
Aside, has anyone ever mentioned the brilliant 'cigarette burns' at the end of each chapter? I love your eye for detail. 👍
Thanks Martin. Same to you!
I have sold and bought a lot of albums online. I trust Amazon, ebay, and Parlogram auctions, but discogs is mixed. I have had shipments disappear, not shipped, or stuck in customs. This video was very informative. Thanks Andrew.😊
Glad you enjoyed it, Michael! 😊
Very interesting indeed.
Is there a good RUclips channel regarding Beatles bootleg records? Would love to see some of that. I owned a couple really rare ones.
being a Beatles fan from 1962 (age 12) I commend you for another excellent video Andrew - now being 73 I have began to catalogue my collection and this really helped.
Come on Apple think of us fans that have been supporting the the Beatles for a long long time
I want to buy records right now, do you have a video for 2023?
Hi Andrew, my name is Anthony. This is so cool, I just got into collecting Beatles vinyl and I don’t want to sell mine I just don’t know anything and have a lot to learn. It’s exciting so thank you for contributing to the treasure quest.
Have fun colllecting, Anthony!
@@Parlogram thanks for the proper welcome mate
about 40 years a bought a book, remember those? that listed the value of albums going back to 1920s 78s. other than some rare older records and original elvis and beatles albums a little known band called "the chocalate watchband" had the highest value of all other r&r albums. they only made 3 albums. (they're really an excellent band too, check them out.)
i eventually had a collection of over 500 albums of every genre imaginable. this included a collection of over 50 beatles albums. including the "star club" recordings, the "decca" recordings, the "beatles box," a mono and stereo version of every beatles album (except "abbey road" and "let it be" which weren't sold in mono). i had the british and american version of every album. i had picture discs, colored discs and imports from about 10 different countries including japan, italy, canada, germany, uruguay, mexico and others. and i had every beatles compliation album released in the 70s and some from the 80s.
because of conditions beyond my control in 2017 my parents sold my entire collection to a local used record store.
A tragic but sadly not unique story.
Thanks Bill. Much appreciated!
Thanks Brian. You could always go for a BC13 from another country! 😉
@@Parlogram
😅!
They never made a, please forgive me, cd version of the BC 13 did they?
Just the oft’d bootleged black box from the 2000’s, correct?
I'm amazed how many BC13 sets are for sale on eBay every week. Some at excellent prices.
I found a red vinyl Sgt Peppers at a garage sale in 1999ish. I paid $1.50AUD and sold it for $30AUD - twenty times what i paid for it. I don't regret selling it, i needed the money.
If I own a record player then I might purchase a album or two also I don’t have a interest in records but my opinion might change
But rn I have Beatles on cd so I trying to pick up the ep collection or the bread box
Thank you, Louise! 😊
What about selling records at record fairs or record shows?
A tough day out.
very interesting and informative. Merry Christmas, Andrew !
Thanks! Same to you, Rob!
They are good but not as good.
Although I’m certainly not selling my Y&T stereo second state butcher in the original shrink (I found it at a flea market for $40 twenty years ago!), it’s nice to know how I can find out what they are selling for nowadays. Thanks Andrew!!
Wow, what a find!
Glad you enjoyed it. We have lots of videos on record collecting on the channel.
Anyone who wishes to donate inherited Beatles records can contact me and I'll be willing to accept them.
Hello, Andrew. I really enjoy the channel, especially the detailed research, creative approach, and warm cheer you bring to each of your videos. I'm very glad that I subscribed. Wishing you a Happy Holiday season and cheerful New Year. Best, David.
Thank you, David. Wishing you the same!
