The Music Corps of the Army. Last helmet update approx. 1905. Good to see that tradition is still valued in the home country. A wonderful performance and parade. More Please!
Excellent video. Thank you very much. What I don't understand is the tendency by some to "dislike" such nice and harmless videos like this one. I suspect one of them could be from the trumpet player who had to march with the damn sousaphone in his ear.
@@trapezemusic You're right. I stand corrected. In fact a sousaphone would be less damaging to the eardrums of the musician at his side. I didn't look properly. Thank you.
@@arbuckle123 You are most welcome. You don't see many helicons these days. That's why it caught my attention. I also agree with you: I don't understand how a viewer could "dislike" a video like this. Thankfully, there are only five of them. Enjoy.
0:00 in the beginning of this recording you can see a museum in Stockholm. Its called Armémuseet and is an exhabition about Swedish military history, it extends from the 16th century to present time and behind the camera man there is a Stridsvagn 103 from the cold war.
5:45 The rendition of "den svenske kustjägaren" (T Andersson) performed here is very nice. A little bit slower but definitely suited for marching pace.
Gaius Marius The (Swedish) Armed Forces Music has three bands, all full-time professional musicians. The Home Guard has 25-30 bands, all volunteers. No conscripts as of 2010. But now the conscript is back, just not in the Music.
drabant And its only the home guard/territorial army bands that travel outside Sweden to represent the home guard and the swedish nation, sometimes in part with eachother. The home guard soldiers have the mission to guard Sweden and its territory, and therefore is not participating in any drills outside Sweden.
trickster33able Not entirely true since the Royal Swedish army Banda as well as the dragoon band has travelled outside the country to participate in different parades and tattoos

You may be right but, just FTI, the instrument you are referring to is a helicon.

1:30 , Adlerflug Marsch....written by Hermann Ludwig Blankenburg ! A great german march !
Hemvärnets Helikopterflottiljens förbandsmarsch.
Nice German/Prussian uniforms!
Autotransporter they are swedish not German/Prussian
@@oskarfield8696 Du har så fel. Arméns musikkår använder preussisk vapenrock digitaltmuseum.se/011024373947/vapenrock-m-1843
Dem använder Göta livgardes uniform modell 1886 med kask som ibland förses med vit plym
It is not German/Prussian uniforms. Although, inspired from them.
Autotransporter Swedish!
Superbe. Le seul pays où on peut voir des filles en casque à pointe, tous les week-ends à Stockholm !
Why no more horses?
The parade can be carried out both by foot and by horse by the Life Guards Cavalry. This time the horses were still on their summer break.
@@jcupjohansson Thanks for info!
I see that the bandsmen are allowed to have facial hair nice
Gaius Marius The bandsmen yes, not the guardsmen.
drabant are the bandsmen conscripts or professional military musicians ? I assume they’re professional because they sound damn sharp

They have helmets against bird attacks?
Originally those helmets were fitted on cavalry units to glance off bladed attacks. Yes, it's quite useless today.
shot the birds !
@@carpetclimber4027 Not useless as they are amazingly aesthetic. Tradition 😎
