    I've only ever had Kobos (I'm Canadian), right now I have the Libra H2O and it's still an excellent device.
    everytime I see a review of a Kindle I don't understand how it's more popular, Kobo is just so nice.
    Amazon has too much of a hold on us! Glad the Kobo is starting to get more love.

      I live in the states, and had NEVER heard of this brand until a friend made a video about it. I was also shocked to find that library books didn't work on kindles for Canadians, so that makes sense that kobo would be huge there. I'm just trying to loosen the chokehold Amazon has on everyone (including myself)

    I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!! 🤗🤗
    Kindle Unlimited is amazing for horror. I still have KU just for that reason. Great video!

      I'm loving it! I wish those same horror authors were on kobo to purchase full price even. Hopefully, the catalog will grow

    I was exclusively a kindle user as well, but I sat on my kindle a while ago and broke it, since then I kept using my phone. I finally bought a libra colour a week ago and I love it. I copied all my kindle books into Calibre and stripped the DRM and converted them to epubs. My library is great on the Kobo and im not worried about buying new books from amazon.

      I will probably also look into converting some of my ebooks. It might be weird, but I'm kind of enjoying starting with a clean slate to see if I can keep up with what I download to my device. Glad you are also loving this device!

    I still have a first generation Kindle, but I've been looking around for an update. Thanks for the in-depth review of the Kobo Libra Colour. I hadn't heard of this type of e-reader until I watched this video.

      I loved having an ipad mini, and thought I would also use it to read, but the backlight on phones/ipads strain my eyes. I hope you love your kobo when you get it!

    Will the White Kobo ever discolor? I love the white color, as it doesn't show smudges as easily as the black bezels -- but the discoloration (yellowing) concern exists.

    I can’t believe it worked after you washed AND dried it! 😂 I’ve just recently started using Kindle Paperwhite bc it doesn’t give me a headache & is compatible with everything I use it for. I’ve never tried anything else. Great review!

      Yes! I was shocked when it worked at first but it konked out shortly after. I can’t read on a computer iPad or phone because it really strains my eyes. The e-ink devices are perfect though

    I’m glad you like it because I just placed an order a couple of days ago and am eagerly waiting for it to come in the mail. I was also disappointed to see they didn’t carry a lot of indie horror authors, but I’m going to see if I can just convert the Kindle files to Kobo.

    • @Kritz_Reads
      @Kritz_Reads  24 дня назад

      I will probably have to give converting a try also. I hope to see the kobo store expand though. I felt like it took AGES for mine to ship. It really only took a week but I was very excited. I hope you love it when it arrives !

    Kindle page turns can be done with a swipe instead of a tap, too. Swipe in one direction to go forwards, the other to go back. That way you don't have to reach all the way across the screen. I hope this helps somebody.

    • @Kritz_Reads
      @Kritz_Reads  24 дня назад

      I just tried and mine doesn't work like that...unless there is a setting somewhere you need to change? Perhaps mine is older

    • @SteamyPMcGee
      @SteamyPMcGee 24 дня назад

      @Kritz_Reads I can't find it in settings but my model is kindle basic 2022. I just double checked myself again, I can turn pages in either direction while limiting my touch zone to either bottom corner! A quick Google says that swish to turn has been a thing for at least 7 years on lots of models.

    • @Kritz_Reads
      @Kritz_Reads  23 дня назад

      @@SteamyPMcGee thank you! I tried it again, and I do have to move my thumb a bit further away from the edge than I was previously trying. I can't believe I had this thing so long and had no idea this was an option

    • @SteamyPMcGee
      @SteamyPMcGee 23 дня назад +1

      @Kritz_Reads that's great news! I think with the paperwhite the swipe zone will be slightly more in due to the flush screen and bezel difference.

    Nice review. I would get the Kobo but I frequently use Kindle Unlimited and have 2 years that were gifted to me. I noticed some authors I follow are not on Kobo.

    • @Kritz_Reads
      @Kritz_Reads  17 дней назад

      That is the biggest downfall for me. A lot of the indie authors I enjoy are not on Kobo, and from what I hear, it is due to a contract with having their work, on Amazon. So I likely won't be giving up my kindle completely

    Hi. Does this eReader not have an audio feature? No video I’ve watched so far discusses that feature & there isn’t any info about this, which worries me from an accessibility standpoint. I unfortunately have dyslexia, so audio books, screen reader/ability to read pages on books that aren’t audiobook eligible, font/line spacing customisation- those are tools that help me manage the learning disability. It’s not hopeful how eReaders aren’t the most accessible.

    • @Kritz_Reads
      @Kritz_Reads  19 дней назад +1

      I'm sorry to say that it doesn't have an audio function like you describe. It does have a section for audiobooks, which you would purchase (at what looks like a higher price often) and you can listen that way. I think a lot of ereaders have moved away from the function you describe, and I actually forgot that I used to listen to my books that way at one time. I'm sure you are aware, but just in case you aren't, of services like EverAnd (formerly Scribd) where you pay a monthly fee and can listen as much as you like. That one is my personal favorite since you don't have to pay per book. It would be using your phone or tablet though, as opposed to an ereader. I'm sorry this one doesn't have the feature that would help you (and many others) out!

    • @BoxOfShockolates
      @BoxOfShockolates 19 дней назад

      @@Kritz_Reads thank you so much for your thorough response! I can end my scavenger hunt looking for info on this. It has been exhausting & disappointing. I think I’ve used Scribd in the past for school, but it is vague. I’m learning that what I need in a reader is scarce. I know that 5%-17% of the world has dyslexia, but the limitations are so discouraging & gut wrenching. I’m sure there are more eReaders existence I’m not aware of, but the Era Colour Pocketbook seems to be exactly what I’d need for accessibility spec wise. It has speech-to-text & even a built in speaker! This is so considerate & inclusive🥹😭 but no need to apologise. It’s not like it’s your design. But I appreciate your empathy & being responsive is more helpful than you’d realise. It gave me clarity! And saved me money so I can avoid buyers remorse.

    This e-reader is crap. I'm gonna return it and ask my money back. It looks so cheap and generic. The screen is terrible yellowish and even with natural light it doens't look like a sheet of paper as kindle looks. I'll keep my kindle paper white.
