He did it for the rock too. The rock would of been big anyway but before Foley, he was never seen as real main event threat. Foley, helped legitimise the rock so he could be a real threat to stone cold at wresltmania 15. It worked so foley did the same for hhh a year later

Then when he turned face, the transformation was complete and the new face of the company was born.. The formula worked so they got Foley to do it for HHH, Orton, Edge.

Randy talks about this match on stone colds broken skull session. Says how much Mick looked after him during this match. You can tell Randy has real respect for Mick.

This channel is better than today’s wrestling by far. I’ve learned more about wrestling on this channel than I ever could have on my own I absolutely love the content it’s very thorough and entertaining 👍
This feud was a testament to how good Foley was at drawing sympathy and how good Randy was at getting heat. He spit in Foley's face and I was legit heated and I specifically remember the beat down Evolution gave Foley on Raw and how brutal it looked even without the use of weapons or table spots.
This match was up there with HHH’s against Cactus jack before. I feel a lot of people don’t look at Randy as a guy with many classic matches but I’ve always had a soft spot for irton. Reminds me of heel Bret, not the best promos for the masses but those subtle character traits like the facial expressions and eye contact are there. I love the fact you chose this right after the broken skull sessions he did and hope more people can see this for what it is... the kind of match that is worth bringing a legend back for and a demonstration of how Randy when he is passionate, can help tell a hell of a story in the ring.

To anyone that hasn't landed on a bed of thumb tacks, trust me, that hurts even more than it looks! Serious pain! And to keep on going? Orton proved he was a real tough guy in that one.

This is one of those matches thats burned into my head for obvious reasons the image and the shaking randy did after goin into the tacks is an all time great moment

I personally think that these"Wrestling minds", Stephanie was talking about were actually just Triple H, I believe if Evolution attacked Mick they would have spun it into Foley VS HHH once again considering the way HHH was booked during the time of this feud.

Foley was such a hardcore monster even into advanced age. One of the toughest to ever do it.

I was at that Backlash 2004 event in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Foley vs Orton was probably the most intense wrestling match that I've ever seen live.
