Yeah for sure! Just go on splice and look for house kicks. Or purchase the plug-in KICK2 and you can produce your own trick. Just collect kick samples over time. My first kicks I used for my first tracks were horrible as well haha

how do your levels change when you boost the kick around 1k or 4k, I am just thinking about leaving enough headroom for later stages
Boosting any frequency results in higher peak db. But for I already decreased all volumes from all channel faders before I start producing by 25%
