Good vid terry. Congrats on 6k again. Though I might add seeing these bote in battle "stormy with a very very very high chance of flooding." Unfortunately she only has 1x4 torpedoes so even though you have around a 30 sec reload you do have to use them wisely.
That's the misleading bit. She looks like a Swedish DD, but doesn't really play like one. You have to get lucky, and be careful, due to the angles. I ended up playing gunboat, and only use the torps opportunistically
@@FunandGameswithTerry Yeah shes depends more on guns that torps. If i had orkan I would use the torps not necessarily to hit something but for tactical purposes ex push an enemy out of their smoke or just blind fire them in the beginning of a match.
Orkan looks like a pretty fun boat to me, she looks like a pretty good DD hunter Lightning is a definite hybrid DD but she is more than capable of putting up a serious fight to even ships like tashkent when played well Orkan, having upgraded guns and radar will definently make her a pretty scary boat to go against in a DD, you do lack sonar compared to lightning but with good torpedo dodging skills, thats barely much of a problem Btw, going bow in and reversing isnt a good form of dodging imo Depending on the situation, it can get you killed, when you need to make a quick getaway, you need to turn your ship around and when doing that, at some point you are gonna show broadside and the consequences can be nasty It also makes you vulnerable to being rushed down, the benson player wasnt good but if he decided to go full bow in to reduce his profile and gun the engine straight for you, he would quickly reach you and possibly torpedo you
Yes, it depends on the situation. Due to the gun layout, you are often more effective bow-in, rather than kiting, but against DDs, you have to indeed be careful. That's another element where the stats can mislead - while the torps are quick, the angles can make them hard to use in a close fight, even if you can utilise radar and smoke.

Making videos for the channel is one of the things I'm looking forward to most during the week, so when life gets in the way, I'm still trying hard to make time for that. It's indeed as much for my own happiness as for everyone else's 😉
The problem with the speed module is that it only gives you 5%. In this case, you'd get 1.8kn extra, and you don't have a speed boost to compound it, so there's really little value in it. But I was tempted as well.
Great video as always terry. However your energy levels seem lower. Might just be me but you don’t have the same energy you have in other vids. Everything alright terry?

Lightning without big torp alpha damage :( sad, if orkan would have at least Cleve AA, then it would be decent. Otherwise it’s obviously underpowered for t8.
@@FunandGameswithTerry Do you think this guns so better? I didn’t count, but it seems like per minute Oland can shoot even more shells means more fires…. Of course lightning has AP which can penetrate other destroyers, but most of the time you shoot HE on lightning, so it doesn’t matter. And on my impression Lightning guns has worse arcs and dispersion than Oland. Of course, smoke is a good bonus, but smoke increases survivability, but not damage… So all in all it’s a lot of downsides. But it’s not for me to complain :) I won’t get it for free anyway, because I’m almost pure f2p player.
I love my Aki. Doesn't work every time, but the combo of dakka and the torp reload make her a pretty versatile mid-range boat. Her and Hsienyang are my favourites at T8 so far
The problem I have is this. You lose a torpedo launcher supposedly for better AA but then you still get crap AA. Wargaming, if you're going to take away firepower for better AA, give me something that will actually shoot down planes
That's what I meant with "confusing stats". Although we can only partially blame WG for this, it was actually the British who did that AFAIR. They did end up regretting it and putting it back, I believe. The AA is inconsequential. Even an Aki, a dedicated AA DD, can't defend herself successfully if isolated. The best you can do is drop smoke, or be elsewhere. Which brings me to the bigger issue - Orkan is slow, and doesn't get an engine boost. Like I said, it takes a bit of figuring out how to play this thing. She's a decent scout and gunboat, but don't expect damage records. Personally, I'd play Aki. Same torp angles, but a torp reload, and more dakka.

And I’m agree with you Terry, I prefer Akizuki :) I don’t know how Akizuki hasn’t been nerfed still, her dpm is awesome for t8.
