How is this movie even a crossover?
It's so cool basically seeing the whole monster community congregate to fight the bigger threat at hand, with Godzilla the king of the monsters at the lead.
"That's right, puny earthlings! In the last movie it took two Earth monsters to defeat King Ghidorah, and now you have -- shit, we didn't think this through."
This was the first Godzilla movie I ever watched in full. Up until then, I'd only seen a few short trailers on RUclips and a few images of the monsters. I was legitimately and pleasantly surprised when King Ghidorah showed up here. Watching this was an absolute blast, and I've never regretted spending my time on this amazing franchise.

So surreal that the entire Showa era was broadcast on TCM. I remember when I was a kid, I would always check multiple channels, including TCM, to see if they'd air Godzilla or any kaiju films. To me, these films were classics & I assumed someone at TCM was wise enough to believe the same. It took until 2019 for someone at TCM to wise up lol
TCM aired Godzilla movies LONG before 2019. They even ran the Sony English master of "Son of Godzilla" one afternoon.
TCM had previously aired Godzilla '54, Godzilla King of the Monsters!, Godzilla vs. the Thing, Ghidrah the Three-Headed Monster, Monster Zero, and Son of Godzilla before the Criterion takeover.
King Ghidorah had the most bad-ass entrance ever! The fireball that morphs into the shape of Ghidorah is still awesome.

The Showa era was a huge fan of savage beatings
as evidenced by Anguirus getting his jaw broken in Vs. Mechagodzilla, as well as the missiles shot into Godzilla’s skin by Mechag
It's technically still the last Shōwa event, since it takes place at the end of the 20th Century
@Mark Guerrero Well we got Godzilla vs Kong in the 60s and this year, that shows a potential Godzilla vs Gamera if they could put him against Kong in the modern day.
We just need a Gamera film in the Monsterverse and we'll be all set for a crossover. Turn the Monsterverse into the MCU or DCEU. The monster version of the Holy Trinity, Godzilla, Kong and Gamera.

@@GreaterGrievobeast55 If I was Ghidorah, I'd just say 'Screw this! I'm not taking on an entire army of Earth monsters who're out for my heads by myself!' and I'd fly away and never return to Earth. The Kilaaks must've had some sort of mental control over him as trying to fight all of Earth's monster by yourself is suicide even if you're Ghidorah.

Love how Varan shows up like "Yay! I'm helping!" only to do fuck all in the following battle.

The very next scene is about the monsters beating the heck out of Ghidorah with only a few small wounds done to them. Well, I guess they were kinda misguided in that prediction....
It's like TOHO decided that Ghidrah was given a raw deal being so out numbered in this film, as they introduced a whole slew of new villain kaiju in the following films to even out the roster.
The Kilaaks are bad at math. Even if you count Ghidorah as three, its still 10 to 3!
Obviously the Kilaaks never watched “Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster” or “Invasion of Astro-Monster” 😄
I guess the Killaks greatly overestimated Ghidorah's abilities. Either that or they were concealing the fact that Ghidorah was only meant to delay the Earth monsters while they brought out their "trump card", the fire dragon which was really a fast moving flying saucer in order to get Humanity to surrender.

Ever since I had first seen the 2019 release of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, I had often wondered why Anguirus, Manda, Baragon, Gorosaurus, Varan and Kumonga weren't also included as six of the seventeen dormant titans contained at Monarch outposts and later awakened by Ghidorah submitting to his rule and still introduce a few new titans such as Methuselah, Behemoth, Scylla, Queen Muto, Kong and a few other dormant titans.
Rights issues.
@@itsglennn That's what I thought. The people who work for Legendary Pictures were able to acquire the rights to use titans such as Mothra, Ghidorah and Rodan for the 2019 film but they couldn't acquire the rights to use other titans? That's ridiculous.

Godzilla is such a baller. He brought his son to this titanic battle because he knew, it is important for when the time comes that minilla becomes the next Godzilla. He have this experience in monster battling when he was a young student, for Godzilla knows the likes of King Ghidorah and Eborah would show no mercy to him. They must develop these fighting skills as soon as possible, because one day Godzilla is going to get bigger and bigger as he grows old. Then finally he will begin to burn from the inside out due to his radioactive nature slowly eating away at his physical body. Too many atomic breath attacks, too many times sleeping in the pockets of radiation beneath the seas.
Minilla had to be here, even if he didn't understand why or what to do for now. He fought so he could begin to learn how to take his place
Anguirus: I got him guys! I got him!
King Ghidorah: Going up for you!
Anguirus: Guys! Help me! I'm going up! I'm going up!
Godzilla: Hang on, Anguirus! Don't let go!

In case anyone who hasn't seen this movie or doesn't know the plot is wondering why there's a Human scientist with the Killaks, at the start of the movie, the Killaks knocked out and mind controlled the scientists monitoring the monsters on monster island, the Human with the Killaks was one of them.

Other than Minilla, all the other Kaiju looked like they could do some damage (granted this series was geared to children).
Could you imagine if Legendary Pictures had access to all the Toho monsters?
the entire series wasnt for kids 1954 is obviously not kiddish at all mothra vs g 1964 was a good and dark movie all of the other 60s films were for all ages it was the 70s where it actually was made for kids and even in them g vs hedorah was kinda disturbing and according to some rating g vs gigan is 13+ as it had blood(same for g vs mg1974) terror of mg was also a dark entry in the series I think g vs megalon, all monsters attack and son of Godzilla are for kids others are all ages and some are for teens
What Amitabh said, but most of the Showa era films were modest to huge box-office hits when released in Japan & I'm sure the biggest of those hits were basically four-quadrant (male, female, young, & old) blockbusters. King Kong vs Godzilla has sold more tickets in Japan than any other G-Film (12 million), & it did that incorporating those legendary wrestling antics pulled from pro wrestling that was hugely popular in Japan at the time with all ages.

I can actually see something like this in the Legendary films. A revived King Ghidorah, Destroyah, Megalon, Gigan, Biollante, Spacegodzilla, Hedorah, Orga, Megaguirus, and Battra gather your wreak havoc upon the Earth and Godzilla stands in his way, but thankfully he has friends on his side as well as Mothra, Rodan, Anguirus, King Kong, Kiryu (Mechagodzilla), Jet Jaguar, King Caesar, a Muto, Behemoth, Scilla, Methuselah, and evening some Jaegers arrive to aid him. It’s an actual standoff between the two Titan armies! What a badass fight that’d be!

The suit was in too poor a condition to use for a fight. Same with Baragon. That's why Gorgosaurus was used instead of him when Baragon attacks Paris

This is my favorite monster movie of all time and I've seen it 50 or 60 times
